RTX 4080 & 7900 XTX/XT benchmarks DCS
frachy replied to xoxen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
yes i guess the same, these two cards are pretty close, maybe 7900XTX is slightly better in fps, not much, but it has 100W idle power... -

Yes that's definitely helpful. -

Thank you. I've test it with 3080 12G overclocked about 100Mhz, about the same performance as 3080TI. at 2560x1440 the GPU Load and FPS is almost the same as your video, and 3440/2560=1.34. at 3840*2160 the FPS is about 60%-70% of your video but the screen pixels are 1.67 times too. Seems different resolution's comparison is hard... I've compared my 3080 12G oced with others 4090, the score is about 1/1.7. So roughly guess, I thought (irresponsibly) 3080Ti vs 7900XTX vs 4090 is about 1 / 1.35 / 1.7 ,which is about the same as other games benchmark. These numbers are not accurate but only give a rough idea. -

Currently DCS use only 1 core of CPU (except some audio processing ), your CPU's 1 core is at 100% now. Upgrade CPU will solve this, even an 12400F. -

In general, your information is almost useless in this case. -

This setup can use all 3 modes. cuz no trim button pressing is needed. -

I'm using a joystick without spring at forward-left deflecting zone, not needing trim. -

A bug but a good bug maybe, cuz they may fix this bug by adding damping to all 3 modes... -

Thank you, AH-64 is enough. -

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I'm using a non-spring stick and using "Joystick Without Springs and FFB" mode, follow your quote, changed it to "Central Position Trimmer Mode" SOLVED the problem. It JUST FLYS MANY TIMERS EASIER AND BETTER! Especially for hover. So, the "Joystick Without Springs and FFB" and "INSTANT TRIM (FFB FRIENDLY)" should be avoided, they're much harder to fly than "Central Position Trimmer Mode" It should be a bug i thought, different deflection rate for different player's equipment just makes non-sense. -

Can you have a test of the DCS Default "AH 64D, Instant action, runway start" and "F16C, Instant action, Take off" with DCS Default "High" Image quality settings? So I can compare to my 3080 12G. -
I've been practicing AAR using T16000m for one day and it was impossible to maintain connected. Then I switched to X65F Force Sensing Stick and done full AAR in about 2 or 3 tries. Conclusion is the ability of fine adjustment near the stick middle position is very important for AAR, IRL the stick is very long, so you can do very precise adjustment. For DCS, you can use a Force Sensing Stick, a long Stick, or add large curve for regular stick, but large curve suitable for AAR may not be good for normal flying. A good equipment made the AAR 10 times easier. Using the regular game stick doing AAR may be harder than IRL, yes you can do lots of practice to overcome it, but i do not think it is about the real thing.

cyclic stick deflection rate slower than actual joystick.
frachy replied to frachy's topic in Bugs and Problems
As this thread says, It's true IRL. "It's a general feature of hydraulic controls that they have a certain maximum deflection speed. The hydraulic pump is able to pump only limited flow of fluid through the system. Having bigger valves, hydraulic lines and a pump would make it faster. " -
another software is xinputplus , can convert xbox controller trigger to key. of course the native one is much convinent.

As the Max Left -> Max Right Deflection, On the first half (or most of the first half) of the movement, the mechanical force should help you instead of resisting. -
cyclic stick deflection rate slower than actual joystick.
frachy posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
For example, when the actual joystick deflects from max left to max right quickly, the cyclic stick in game just deflects from max left to max right slowly, not fully synced to the actual joystick. Is it intended, can I get rid of it? I prefer that they are synced, could give more controllability. -

TSD Map not aligned at 42"18'13 41"51'29 I'm flying on land but the TSD map is on the sea. The 400nm zoomed out map is correct though.

Set "Cyclic Trimmer Mode" to "Central Position Trimmer Mode" in AH-64 Special Setup. Assign a joystick button to "Force Trim/Hold Mode. R/Up" . Enter game, before moving the joystick, Press the assigned button above. sloooowly increase the collective, and you get to go.
