  1. Surely if they haven't used Ugra Media's assets then the demand is baseless. Remove it or else what exactly? Anyway, you pay your money and then you are left out in the cold. Don't buy the Ugra Media maps either then I say. Sick of this crap.
  2. I'm not on any PTC but my Meta app updated itself to 68.0.0.474.361 yesterday morning so I can only assume they already rolled out this hotfix publicly. This seems to have fixed any issues I had with OXRTK.
  3. Yeah, you can look forward to VR Flight Sim Guy raving about the performance whilst he flies over the middle of the ocean at 20,000 feet and directing you to his sales referral link.
  4. Did you have anything to do with I-War 2: Edge of Chaos? That is by far my most treasured gaming memory of space sims. What a fantastic game that was back then. FFB on my trusty MSSWFFB2 (which I still have and use in DCS to this very day, well over 20 years later). Brilliant hybridised flight model. Even the soundtrack was sublime. I still play the soundtrack today. Great times.
  5. I saw slightly different weight specs Vision Pro weighs between 21.2 and 22.9 ounces, or 600 and 650 grams, depending on which light seal and headband you have. The external battery weighs 353 grams For comparison: Meta Quest 2 weighs 503 grams Meta Quest 3 weighs 515 grams Meta Quest Pro weighs 722 grams Playstation VR 2 weighs 560 grams
  6. Doesn't sound great if you ask me. It sits way too far out in front. Anyway, here's another "preview"
  7. I tend to agree with a lot/most/all of what you said, but this is a tad disingenuous I think. The Aero has cooling, Eye tracking (this is honestly a game changer in VR) and a facial interface that can suit people other than 1 person (so you could sell it on easier). Sure it has visual anomolies people complain about (except youtubers with redemption vouchers on offer), like motion blur, Chromatic abberation, poor stereo overlap, pathetic Vertical FOV etc, but its hardly almost same specs. Its a lot more feature rich than that.
  8. I hope the Crystal and the Aero don't end up being the only "higher end" options moving forward. The thing that puts me off the most with the Aero is its really small Vertical FOV (Like looking through letter box) and chromatic abberation issues along with loads of people complaining about smearing. The crystal is just too bulky for its FOV. Hopefully Valve steps back up to the plate (Although the index was never properly available in Australia anyway).
  9. I have a 4090 and I still use Motion Smoothing in DCS (SteamVR settings) at 45fps. I cant stand the slightest frame rate variation in VR. If the frame rate goes from 90fps to 80 and between, it looks very stuttery to me even though its still a reasonably high frame rate. I'd rather fly with higher settings (MSAAx4 etc) with Motion smoothing at a fixed rate than lower settings that sometimes dip (you know, over places that aren't open ocean LOL).
  10. I don't doubt that, but his scenarios are typically the least performance impact scenarios you can imagine. Hey, why not fly over marianas or Beirut in Syria. I guess because he doesnt own them? Just trying to put his 90fps test into some context. Not calling the work effort you have done and its performance gains into question. Apologies if thats how it came across. Just wish someone else was available to demonstrate them in a way they deserve.
  11. Flies over ocean.. gets 90fps.. news at 9. Honestly, I dont know how anyone watches this guy and takes his stuff seriously
  12. Did you try some CAS Sharpening first? Did you run MSAA?
  13. I find adding some CAS sharpening helps a lot for distance. I typically do this via OpenXR Toolkit. Not sure if you have that option available with the Pimax toolset you are using or not. When doing so you have to strike a happy medium between sharp and grainy. I use values depending upon the game anywhere between 60% - 90%

    VR FPS

I don't have the F15E (yet), but it could be VRAM overloaded. Try turning Texture Resolution down a peg in settings just as a test. My AH-64 went from unplayable on certain scenarios (with 3080) to perfectly fine with reduced texture resolution in VR. This was only in certain scenarios mind you but it did make a huge difference. I ended up with a 4090 so there is no VRAM issues any more and I could turn Texture Res back up to max.
  15. I play in VR only. I do have fixed frame rate of 45fps though. I notice too much stutter if the frame rate varies at all.
  16. I'm very happy with the performance as well. I run MSAAx4 and maxed vis distances etc. The only thing I really have turned down is shadows to flat. But I too have a 4090. Perhaps its a VRAM issue for some?
  17. Well, to be fair, he said its a too heavy but might be perfect for people who play seated like "Sim players". So he even openly states he is NOT a sim player, unlike another youtuber who basically praises every single headset so long as he can peddle some "referral codes" and simply rinses and repeats a different headset every week with some invented perfect purpose.
  18. He has those referral codes to peddle don't forget. He said in the comments of one of his videos that he tried the Quest Pro but didnt like it. I guess they wouldnt give him any referral codes.
  19. it'll keep nagging you inside the headset to update your software every 5 minutes! EDIT: I just realised this is my first post here.. Apologies for the complete lack of creativity and interesting data contained within. I just hate Apple's ecosystem with a passion that I couldn't resist posting. Having said that, I am indeed interested in what they have to offer for sheer technical curiosity sake.
