  1. Have a look at this. A really good explanation as to what's going on!
  2. I concur - deck crew jitters and shooter turns around way too quickly.
  3. It gave me a giggle - I confess to saving a track file thinking this was some kind of bug Happy to see the odd easter egg - I presume it will revert after a period (rather than disabling them entirely)?
  4. The moment you bank the aircraft, the proportion of the lift vector opposing gravity reduces (until at 90 degrees of bank, there is none!) so the nose will drop. SO the moment you start your final turn, you need to apply a fistful of power to counter this effect. Similarly, as you roll out, you need to pull a bucket of power off to counteract the "ballooning" effect as more of the lift vector returns to the vertical. Have a look at your power input as you commence the turn - you don't alter it until the nose has fallen. Anticipate this ... so as you initiate the bank, give it a handful of power. The more the bank, the more you need to give it. You should be able to balance this so that it becomes a simultaneous roll/pitch/power movement. Pull that power back off and maintain your desired AOA/descent angle. Then, as you roll out, pull the power off (quite a lot) and tune your roll rate to keep the AOA in the bracket. As you return to level flight, re-apply the power. Summary: Initiating bank - short (significant) handful of power to counter the nose drop. Rolling out - short (significant) reduction of power to counter the ballooning effect. Hope this helps. Now go practice
  5. Is there a way to establish what a unit ID is? I have a set of a handful of "dead" events after a few minutes of a mission - all with initiator ID's (such as _600998574). Is there a way to identify what/where these are? Whatever they are, they don't cause a problem ... but I can't see what they could be. They look like building ID's to me.
  6. The "Flag is less than Flag" condition accepts an alpha name for the first flag ... but the second flag remains numerical.
  7. ..... I suspect it's due to my forum login now being different to my DCS login? For some reason, my DCS login no longer works on the forums so I created a new one. Don't know why they would have got out of sync
  8. Small correction - the animation/bindings function with the APU running (or main engines of course) but if the engines and APU are shut down, the knobs no longer move. The biggest implication is that I spent an hour trying to bind these controls thinking I had a hardware problem. I'd love to attach the trk file but there's no paper clip to attach anything to these posts? I've searched for a solution without success. I've been using this forum for years .... I have no idea why I can't attach any files.
  9. When the cockpit is cold and dark, it sems impossible to bind the rotary brightness/symbology controls - the knobs don't move at all. However, it seems the bindings ARE being set, but until the engines are running (simply powering up doesn't appear to fix this), the knob animation is not working (and have no effect). With a hot start, all is well. From cold and dark, bound brightness/symbology knobs won't move (or have any effect) UNTIL the engines are running. I hope that makes sense
