  1. Remove the HARM OVRD box and keep the GBU32s boxed? I shall give it a go.. thank you!
  2. I've searched everywhere for an answer to this, and I feel as though I may be missing something. I want to be able to run a SEAD/DEAD mission and then attack a target using GPS-guided weapons in PP mode. I can program the target data for the GBU32 before I leave the carrier, however, when I select the AGM88 in A/G mode, the GBU32 becomes unboxed, that appears to ensure that the programmed target data is lost for the GBU82s (which is something I don't want to reprogram mid-flight while running at low-level). Any thoughts to what is going on here? is running GPS-guided weapons in PP mode in addition to HARMs just something that cannot be done in the same mission?
  3. Dear Developers at ED, This is an astoundingly great piece of work - well done! To put it into perspective, you've just saved me the cost of a GPU upgrade. I'm currently running a RTX3080 (overclocked), and to get the 50% increase in fps i'm now seeing routinely, i'd have had to upgrade to a RTX4080.. however, I can save that cash until the PiMAX12k finally comes out in 2047... Thanks again!
  4. I had major issues with the MT version of DCS.EXE when I first had it running. The ST version of DCS.EXE worked as before, but the MT version was causing all sorts of visual aberations, half the frame-rate (according to OpenXR Toolkit) and a completely unusable experience, unless I over-dosed on Dramamine. After some messing around, I discovered that PiTool was treating the new DCS.EXE in the bin-mt folder as a completely different DCS, and applying default settings that are an absolute NO-NO for DCS. Here's how to fix the issue: In your DCS install folder, locate the DCS.exe in the bin-mt subfolder. Create a shortcut in the same folder pointing at the local DCS.EXE, use arguments --force_VR --force_OpenXR i.e. :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin-mt\DCS.exe --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR (same can be used for standalone, though without the SteamLibrary structure) In PiTool, go to the "My Games" tab. Click the import button and locate the shortcut you just made. Click on the new icon within PiTool to Start. Once in the menu of DCS you can exit again. In PiTool, now go to PiTool>Settings>Games>Game List drop-down. The original "DCS World Steam Edition" is there, but now there's another one that didn't exist before, simply called "DCS" (or whatever you named the shortcut) within this settings page: Smart Smoothing is turned on by default, along with "vertical sync" set to 1/2, and Hidden Area Mask Enabled. TURN ALL OF THOSE OFF!! Now you can start the MT version of DCS from wherever you like: a desktop shortcut, start shortcut, from within the folder itself, or from PiTool and it'll work. It will still have some odd loading menu aberations, but once you're in the simulator, you should notice that the visual issues have gone away, and you'll be rewarded with around 40-50% better fps.
  5. OK.. problem solved! In PiTool, when you start the bin-mt\dcs.exe with force_VR and force_OpenXR arguments, it creates a new item in your PiTool>Settings>Games>Game List drop-down. (NOTE: as suggested by another forum member, I imported the new MT exe into "My games" in PiTool, this produced the new setting) The original "DCS World Steam Edition" is there, but now there's another one, simply called "DCS" within this settings page: Smart Smoothing was turned on by default, along with "vertical sync" set to 1/2, and Hidden Area Mask Enabled. TURN ALL OF THOSE OFF!! I restarted DCS MT, and I now have 59-60Hz at 4K native per eye, with high settings on, and good shadows etc on a very busy SuperCarrier deck within an active carrier group.. I used to get 30-40Hz before. I am overjoyed! The menus are still a total mess, but the in-sim VR experience is now way better than i've ever had it. Great Job ED.. keep up the good work, i'm sure the bucket of existing issues will soon get whittled down to nothing!

I am overjoyed! ..oh.. the loading screens are still a buggy nightmare, but now the VR experience in sim is working much better than before!
  7. Thanks! I'll give this a go and report back. I updated the firmware to run the 90Hz native so, following your lead, i'll set a cap at 80Hz in OXR Toolkit and see what happens!
  8. It doesn't happen with the standard Single-Threaded bin\DCS.exe - i've tried clearing shaders, messing with OpenXR Toolkit settings, Pimax Settings, and nothing helps. I wouldn't even call it micro-stuttering, it's more like gatling-gun stuttering. I have hyperthreading enabled in bios, but my 11900KF only has 16 threads (2 per core) anyway.
  9. Yes - tried that too. However, the problem isn't with starting up in VR or in OpenXR in MT. The issues arise once i'm in DCS in MT in VR.
  10. dcs.log When the initial loading screen appears (in the hangar) the initial loading screen has multiple overlayed copies, like copies of Agent Smith.. Once in the main menu, a bizarre circular vibration appears in the view, almost like someone glued my eyes so they cannot move, but I have severe Parkinsons. When loading any SP mission, the loading screens are replaced by a blank screen. Once in the mission, the circular vibration gets even worse, almost like there's something wrong with the HMD tracking, to the point it is not at all playable. ST version of DCS functions correctly. Using OpenXR (latest OpenXR Toolkit) and PiMAXXR (latest), along with latest PiTool/firmware etc launching DCS.exe from bin-mt folder with options "--force_VR --force_OpenXR". Is Steam version. System specs: i9-11900KF OC to 5500Mhz with water block- RTX3080 OC - ASUS ROG HERO VIII - 64GB DDR4 @3600MHz- 1TB SSD OS - 2TB SSD GAME- 1000W PSU Pimax 8kx - TM Pendular Pedals - TM Warthog Throttle - TM Waterhog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - WinWing Pheonix MIP/UPC - Homemade Landing Gear control. Andre's SimShaker driving two subwoofers and seat kickers for seat and control column vibration - sketchpad linked to OpenKneeboard - VoiceAttack with VIACOM Pro
  11. Go into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin-mt and find DCS.exe.. run that. If you want to run in VR with MT, then go into the same folder, create a shortcut that runs "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin-mt\DCS.exe --force_VR --force_OpenXR" otherwise it'll try and run SteamVR
  12. Yessir - Hyperthreading enabled for all 8 cores. Not sure what's going on with it. May need to play around again this evening.
  13. Yes. OpenXR Toolkit has a sharpness option (under the CTRL+F2 menu in VR). As reshade doesn't work currently with OpenXR, you have to use the sharpness options in the toolkit instead.
  14. First MT report on VR. On a 3080 and PIMAX 8kx running OpenXR (Pimax XR), the loading screens have now gone. The main menu is there and mostly stable. However, any of the progress-bar type loading screens are now replaced by black screens. The sim still loads, and loads much quicker than usual, if you wait through the blank screens. Once in sim, there's a terrible frame lag, almost like someone turned on an incompatible motion reprojection, and with usual fps. I tried a number of SP missions, with the same effect. Rebooted and tried again. Same. Starting with bin-mt\DCS.exe --force_VR --force_OpenXR command line. I went back into ST DCS, and now I have around 25% more fps in VR - go figure! Either way, whatever happened with this update, the performance has improved. I guess i'll have to wait until the next OB update to see if the visual stability in VR has improved for me. If anyone has any thoughts, i'd appreciate it - currently difficult to work in the menus in MT mode, as the shaking is worse than the opening sequence of "First Man"
  15. I had an odd experience. On a 3080 and PIMAX 8kx running OpenXR, the loading screens have now gone. The sim still loads, and loads quicker than usual, if you wait through the blank screens. Once in sim, there's a terrible frame lag, almost like someone turned on an incompatible motion reprojection. I went back into ST DCS, and now I have around 25% more fps in VR - go figure!
  16. nullLive on Steam too!
  17. Since appearing on Steam some years ago, the number of people playing DCS through Steam has steadily increased. I'm aware that a chunk of change will be taken by the platform, before it gets to ED/Razbam, but Steam also expands the potential market for buyers significantly... I can only guess that ED has calculated that they'll raise more than enough pre-order funds through stand-alone users to not need to offer pre-orders on Steam. DCS World Steam Edition - Steam Charts
  18. Thanks for responding - i shall now stop reloading steam and hoping it appears..
  19. When will the pre-order be available on Steam?
  20. You don't need open composite anymore, as OpenXR runs natively. You have two options, you can either continue to use the OpenComposite per game 64bit DLL within the DCS/bin folder, along with PimaxXR, or; Revert the Openvr_API.dll back to the DCS original one (if you don't have that, then rename the one you have to "openvr_api.dll_old" and do a repair. Make sure PimaxXR has PimaxXR enabled as the runtime. Make sure OpenXR Toolkit is running ok. Also make sure that OpenXR Toolkit does not have and of the "OpenComposite" checkboxes enabled (see bottom of Toolkit window) Then start DCS with the following command line (can be done from a shortcut): DCS.exe --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR That'll make DCS function in its native OpenXR mode, and work correctly with the 8kx
  21. Kiwi? Well, that'd explain it.. your whole world is upside down, maybe DCS is the right way up! (sorry,, couldn't resist)
  22. Yes ASW has to be turned off - doesn't always work the way you think it will. The Motion Smoothing algorithm, as currently implemented, sometimes causes these odd ghosting issues. It happens to me with the Pimax 8kx. I currently achieve around 55fps solidly with OpenXR and using FFR etc, and I have any "smart smoothing" or "fill in with an extra predictive frame" features turned off everywhere.
  23. Man, I'm sorry this is happening. One man's treasure is another man's trash (as an inversion of the saying goes..) I've been struggling for weeks with OpenXR/OpenComposite/PimaxXR being broken since the last update, along with the Options/VR menu crashing DCS to Desktop, even after OS reinstalls and building from scratch. I was getting to the point that I was tempted to just set fire to everything DCS related and give it up as a bad life decision, and then today happened, and everything is fixed and better than ever. ..and now you've ended up on the wrong side of the coin. I'm sorry for that. If DCS is initializing in VR and loading to 100% (the menu, i'm guessing), then the only thing I can suggest apart from a "repair" is to rename your old SAVED GAMES/DCS directory to "old_DCS", and then restart DCS. It'll rebuilt a virgin saved games folder, and you'll have to sign in again, but at least you'll be able to discount mods and shaders etc as being the issue.. Also, I don't know which version of PiTool you're running, but the official Pimax website has up to .277.. and then I found that they were posting updates on the OpenMR community. Pitool 1.0.1.284v - PimaxVR Software / Release Notes - OpenMR | Community (might help) Also, check your PimaxXR and OpenXR toolkit versions to ensure they're up to date along with Nvidia drivers (as you're running a 3090Ti)
  24. One thing I forgot to mention. If you have the Steam version of DCS, If you reboot, you have to open Steam, and then close it again. Otherwise DCS will not be able to authenticate causing a "essential files are corrupted" error. Starting Steam once after any reboot will stop this happening. In OpenXR Tool kit, also ensure that only "DCS" is selected down at the bottom, and nothing to do with "OpenComposite DCS" (for example) is selected.
  25. That is correct - but if you're using a Leapmotion controller, like me, it has a profound effect on the relationship between VR scale and RL scale. I've found that the optimum DCS IPD value to be not too far off of your actual RL IPD.
