  1. With the release of the the new fog logic, I haven't been able to get fog to show at night. Fog will generate at sundown, but then it seems like the sun doesn't ever go down as long as the fog is there. Anyone else have this issue?
  2. When DCS has sales, those sales also post on Steam, but typically the Steam sale dates do not line up with DCS sale dates. Usually, if DCS has a sale, the sale will happen a few days later on Steam. Presale discounts and Early Access discounts are a little bit of a grey area. Steam no longer offers presale purchases (purchasing the module before release), but most developers have seemed to be willing to offer a discount once the product is available on Steam. Sometimes, the discount isn't as high for Steam users, but that depends on the developer. Notably, Razbam offered a higher Presale discount for Stadalone purchases for the F-15E, but the discount was not as high for Steam when the F-15E was released. This is not typical of all 3rd parties, but it's a chance you take with Steam. Heatblur did offer a discount for Steam users for the F-4E when it was released and the Steam crowd really appreciated it. As you pointed out, the miles program does not apply to Steam, but if I remember right, DCS is eliminating the program on Standalone anyway (I'm sure someone can verify this). One benefit to Steam is the fact that any DLC purchases can be moved to standalone if you wish to switch, but Standalone purchases CANNOT be moved to Steam. So, to summarize... Steam Pros: Faster download times, access to DCS sales, early access discounts, can transfer DLC to Standalone if you switch. Steam Cons: Can't purchase a module before release, possible to not have higher presale discounts, must run Steam while running DCS, DCS sales typically occur later than Standalone. No 1st module discount. Standalone Pros: You can get 50% off your first module (this is still a thing, right?) Access to two week trial period for any module, access to sales earlier than Steam, access to miles program (if still available), can purchase module before release and with any applicable discount. Do not need to run Steam while running DCS Standalone Cons: HORRENDOUS download speeds. Can't transfer DLC to Steam. Even though I've been tempted to switch completely to Standalone, I am a Steam user and don't feel that the advantages of Standalone outweigh the awful download rates of the Standalone version. I used to have both Standalone and Steam installed on my computer before ED removed the ability to have DLC access on both versions simultaneously. Since then, I've gone to Steam exclusively. It does suck not to be able to take buy a module before release or get a higher presale discount or whatever, but I do like not having to wait an eternity to play after any update. This is just my 2 cents, I know that there are a lot of people that are all for the Standalone version. Hopefully they can add to this discussion.
  3. I'm also looking to do this and would love to know if it's possible. In my MonitorSetup lua, I've tried F4_DSCG, F4_RWR, PHANTOM_DSCG, F4_RADAR & PHANTOM_RADAR and none of those work.
  4. Thanks! Seeing the TARPS now!
  5. Hmmm, I'm not seeing TARPS loadouts nor a TARPS pod when manually inputting a loadout. As for the ladder, I'm also having no luck getting that to deploy. What am I missing here?
  6. I hear you on that. Option 3 is a version of the clean cockpit I did for my own use, but I didn't go as far as the uv stuff. Ultimately, I have to remember that you even said that this mod was still in development and on early release so I shouldn't be too critical. You do good work and have a lot of great mods. Doing mods reminds me just how fantastic developers like Heatblur are. I'm in AZ where we have a lot of old planes and I've seen a number of worn cockpits so Heatblur's approach looked on par to me. Admittedly, I would love to see how they would approach a factory new look, but I'll always appreciate the look of a used and abused cockpit.
  7. I appreciate anyone that has the gumption to create custom cockpits. I'm a traditional artist by profession and also have spent a LOT of time in photoshop as well. I feel that Heatblur does a phenomenal job with every aspect of their modules and, to me, the Tomcat is stellar. I appreciate the fact that it shows the wear and tear of the Turkey's long history, complete with fading text, etc. I prefer the modules with a more lived in look anyway. Understandably, I can totally see why people want a a clean cockpit and I applaud DSPlayer for taking the initiative. That said, my only gripe about mods like this is when all the surface texture inherent in the panels is taken away and the result has a cartoonish look and all realism is lost. For example, Here is a portion of the original cockpit... Here is the same portion of modded clean cockpit. The text looks great, but the panels surfaces are flat and lose the tangibility of the original. A good compromise would be cleaning up the panels and text without sacrificing some of the look and age of the panels like this... Obviously, this is just my two cents and everyone can say I'm a jerk or whatever. Regardless, happy flying to everyone and and thanks to Heatblur and DSPlayer for their approaches to this fine bird!
  8. This would be wonderful. MSFS has this and I would love to see it in DCS. I know that the kneeboard has this already, but it cannot be saved so that would need to be updated too. This would be awesome with not only the displays (MFD, TD, DDD, Radar, MFCD, etc), but also with the controls indicator.

  9. I have a LOT of modules and I own all the maps. I always like to have missions of each map with all planes available. This enables me to fly whatever I want, wherever I want without having to jump from Instant Action to Instant Action or mission to mission (unless I'm changing maps, of course). Also, it makes it easier for someone to switch to any plane they want when I'm showing DCS to someone who has never played it. Anyhow, putting every playable aircraft on a map in the mission editor can be tedious. I would love having the option to 'select all planes' and let the editor place them wherever based on whether I select, 'parked hot, runway, ground, etc'. And yes, I know about Ctrl+C, Ctrl +V, that's how i normally do it and it's still a long tedious process to do it that. I would just like a nice one step option.
  10. none of this is working for me either
  11. *UPDATED* I am solely in Steam. Verifying installation files and restarting Steam did not work for me either. I have attached my log file dcs.log
  12. Thanks! I uninstalled that and things are back to normal
  13. When flying Grinnelli's Edge 540, Extra330, Wright Flyer and Reliant Shuttle, the SU-25T cockpit overlays itself. This is not happening on any other mods I'm using, just these four. I use Steam and ran a game file integrity check and that has not fixed the issue. This is not happening on Grinnelli's F-22 mod.
  14. I'm getting the same. Black screen when I'm on the runway or taxing. So far it has happened at Rio Grande and at Ushuaia. When I move my head with trackIR, the black screen flickers, etc.
