That is the default on the ground. On the carrier, it will be folded wings.

but but but but but... fine. Let me then ask a different question. Say that I have a waypoint that marks a general area where the target may be. How do I visually attack the thing I want to attack? Use AUTO, then last minute undesignate?

I noticed recently (since the last few updates) that I am unable to use CCIP for unguided bombs if there is a designated target. I cannot leave AUTO. This wasn't the case in the past. Let me start by asking the obvious - what am I doing wrong?

Just a few messages above, No1sonuk posted a bit of code that reads "active aircraft" in DCS. That can be used to bind and re-bind the commands for the aircraft within the sketch. Note: this is theoretical answer, I haven't actually tried this myself.

You can use the `multiple-com-ports.bat` for that, or do the same trick it does, run the `connect-serial.bat` with `/b` flag before you run DCS. -
Heh! Was just coming over here to thank you for the help on Discord. Indeed, the above (idea of using aircraft name as the indicator) solved the particular challenge I was looking to solve.

Folks, is there an easy way to detect whether Arduino is connected to DCS BIOS? I.e. I want the sketch to do different things if it's not connected to DCS. Looking at the library, there doesn't seem to be a simple function that does this.

Just buy a module or terrain once in a while - that way you can support them, and have some fun. For example, even though I rarely use many of them, I own all the terrains. Just because I like supporting companies that provide me with good entertainment.

This is a lesson that even big players like Google learned the hard way. Always use sub-domains, that way you can move services easier.

This has been discussed ad nauseam. It doesn't break the plane. It shortens its longevity. When the alternative is a very short longevity due to death of the pilot, paddle switch is perfectly fine. -

On the topic of ASW and implementing underwater stuff... Those things can get very complicated or really shallowly (ha) implemented unless there is at least some kind of thermal layering modeled. It's a key aspect of underwater combat.

Well, they did have magnetic anomaly detectors at some point, so there was some dark magic voodooing involved, but it was eyeballs Mk.1 most of the time, indeed.

Any chance we can get this thing? It's not really an earth-shattering feature, but for those of us with physical switches, it would make a difference. Specifically: Can we get "fuel dump off" switch assignment. @BIGNEWY

No ASW would ever be complete without Catalinas! Would love to see those in DCS!

So, when I say it was required, I mean what I say. It's not that there was only a limit to it (there was), but there was also a requirement to have a dead zone of +/- X (I think 10) degrees from neutral where input would not translate to motion of the wheel. Why was it like that, I have no idea, but it's what it was. /shrug Also, quick binging tells me that some of the reasons may had to do with "older drivers". In any case, it was a thing that wasn't always "shabby build", but oftentimes done on purpose with, a perhaps, misguided intent of preventing accidents.
