  1. You may already know this, but to be clear, it will not be available at all upon final release. It is now meant to be a paid addon. Only those with (early?) pre-purchases will get it for free. Given the delays with the betas I would not expect it for a long time. I suspect that there is no serious effort going on at the moment. Cheers.
  2. To be fair, this is a commercial site and ED has every right to decide the tone of discussions to be allowed. I already feel a little guilty about the sillyness of my own posts in the last couple of days. This thread was highjacked to the disappointment of the OP, and it was only moved not locked. To me, that was a green light to start posting as I had previously refrained from joining in. If there are no standards, then things may get out of hand and the usefullness of the forums will be diminished, but your point is taken about the need to allow some humour to "bind the community". BiPod.
  3. Well, it worked in ROTJ. Funny that Ackbar did not attempt to repeat his success. You would think he would learn from this.
  4. If you are refering to the ALQ-131, it is your radar jammer. In the pic below the JMR is permanently "off" because I have not loaded the pod. (I usually always load it). It helps to confuse enemy AAA, SAMs and aircraft depending on what mode is used. Check "Countermeasures Systems" (CMSP) on page 396 of beta 4 manual and "Countermeasures Set Control (CMSC)" on page 402 for usage. As for loading triple rocket pods, I think you have already figured this out but... -Right click on the empty slot -under rockets click a choice that has "*3" in the menu popup. Cheers, BiPod
  5. I may have missed the irony of your "shotgun" comment. I took your post seriously.
  6. Only in America, Germany and a whole bunch of other places could somebody casually make a post like that :dunno:
  7. StrongHarm, Excellent post. I'd rep if I could. This is why in the RAAF you can be operational in a couple of years, but may not be deployed for some time longer. Mastering the systems is more than just knowing them. Those 2%'ers add up. Thanks for this^, I will have to look into it. On a side note, did you ever get the CDU LASTE wind correction to work for dumb bombs. You may have noticed in a previous thread that the issue was not fully closed. BiPod
  8. Actually, I think we are in agreement. I merely indicated that you didn't need to know. I personally hate looking at a system and knowing that there are functions on it that I don't understand. As I said, this is why I love the DCS sims! BiPod.

    Doesn't work

Thanks asparagin, I see your problem now. DO NOT replace it with the one from the other folder. Use the downloaded file instead, just don't forget to tweak it first. Beyond this, I can't help. Sorry. For everyone else, I think the following image explains it all. Promise annulled with thread move to Chit-Chat. BiPod.
  10. I could include a screenshot of the ingame encyclopedia and a FRAPS recording of a battle, but I think I've gone too far already. My point is that LARGEs question is not just hypothetical. In some games you do have to actually know this stuff. BiPod.
  11. Hi LARGE, What you appear to have there is either an imperial I or Imperial II star destroyer. They are virtually identical from exterior appearance, but the Imperial II has almost twice the firepower and more than twice the shielding. In the tactical gameplay of Star Wars:Rebellion the Mon Calimari Cruiser would win against an Imperial I even after taking account of the star destroyers fighter capacity which is twice that of the Cruiser. The battledamage would however take a long time to repair, and I would expect to effectively lose the Cruiser from the order of battle for about a year. The Imperial II Star Destroyer is another matter altogether. Without concentrated fire from several capital ships, you would have no chance against it. In a one on one battle you would need either a Dauntless Cruiser or Bulwark Battlecruiser, but good luck finding one of those. This is all from Star Wars:Rebellion. Other sources DO differ! Hope this helps your next mission, BiPod.
  12. ...and defending democracy. It's about the guns sound and defending democracy.... ...But yeah, it's mostly about the guns! DCS:A10C Rocks!
  13. make sure you select "Axis Commands" from the right hand drop down list at the top of the screen. The default is "All". This sounds like your problem. EDIT: Oops, disreguard. On re-reading it seems you have done this.

Why don't you ask Spudman for some advice. I read in a post somewhere that he has had some success with tweaking. Try the search function, and if that doesn't help, RTFM. OK. I promise I will stop now, BiPod.

Can't you read Innerloop......."some things":glare: But it's OK, because as he explained in the later half of his post..."It works now". Hope this clears it up, BiPod

Tweaking cats is illegal in many countries. I suggest readers check with local regulations before attempting this.
  17. Darn those clever lawyers... 3. LICENCE CONDITIONS 3.1 Except as expressly set out in this Licence or in clauses 4.1 and 4.2 below, or as permitted by any local law, you undertake to use the Program for your own personal use, and you shall not: . . (d) sell, rent, lease, sub-license, distribute, loan, translate, merge, adapt, vary, modify or otherwise transfer the Program, or any copies of the Program, without the express prior written consent of TFC; I admit, I thought selling was perfectly legal. Many stores in Australia openly trade used PC games.
  18. Agreed. My hometown airport (uncontrolled, MBZ) has lights off as standard with Pilot Activated Lighting available. The nearby regional hub of Albury (pop. 60,000) has Pilot Activated Lighting available outside of tower hours. Military airports will operate according to circumstance. Cheers.
  19. Hmmm...the image should be embedded. Works on my screen. EDIT: I see. My album was marked private. I have added a link now but I warn you that its just a lame joke. Not worth the click. Yours with a deflated sense of self worth, BiPod.
  20. Before and After Here it is...And before you ask...No I did not use Photoshop. http://forums.eagle.ru/picture.php?albumid=469&pictureid=3178 (In case picture is not embedded) FYI, I have not seen them turning on myself. BiPod.
  21. Ummm...guys....haven't you heard there is a war on? It's not standard practice to leave lights on if there is a chance of attack. Painting "please bomb here" across the runway in large fluorescent letters is also frowned upon:music_whistling: Yours with unappreciated sarcasm, BiPod.
  22. All these little surprises. ED is Number 1
  23. So can we get confirmation that this works? I've seen heaps of positive replies but no one has explicitly confirmed that it works. Just one "Yep it definitely works for me" will be enough for me to rep Dynamo and move on. I've tried again at 20 kts with exactly the same results. What about that button on the left of the LASTE page that says "Do not press! Activating this button will totally stuff everything up." Perhaps I should leave that one unactivated next time?:music_whistling: Yours in frustrated simming;), BiPod.
  24. No Joy here. I get the same results as when I first tried this method. Nice tight grouping, but the bombs just land amongst the craters of the unadjusted drops. Am I missing something here? Activation Button? Page Selector? I have noticed that my entries do not affect the CDU steerpoint wind data. Is this right? Your method appears to match the manual and I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I have tried bombing with the page selector to "other" and LASTE wind page displayed, as well as with "steerpoint" selected with standard steerpoint, all with no effect. All my runs were CCRP 9000-12000 feet. Wind 40kts (yeah, I did some bad maths in the editor and set it too high). You noted that maybe you just got lucky. Has anyone else got this to work? Yours in simming, BiPod
  25. I was under the impression that manual wind correction was only for correcting flaws in the automatic system and not standard practice. The tone of this thread suggests I have been missing something (mostly tanks;)). I assumed that my repeated failure to hit anything from that height with a slick was the slicks fault not mine. Can someone confirm that this should be standard procedure or just a "2%er". Dynamos results are impressive! I'll definitely give it a try. Cheers.
