Seems no one has told Kollsman (Elbit Systems) this. They sell FLIR systems to allow you to see through fog. Game on;), BiPod.

FLIR BHOT = Boat Forward = Right+RAlt FLIR WHOT = Boat Aft = Left+RAlt CCD = Boat Center = Down+RAlt Boy I'm in a helpful mood today!

Huh?....The dodo went to Saturday? BiPod. Sorry....bored. Won't do it again.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean here, but did you try switching to FLIR. The TGP will see through clouds with WHOT or BHOT but not with the CCD. I don't know how thick the clouds have to be before the FLIR will not penetrate. If this is not your problem, please ignore my solution. BiPod.

Just remember that the A-10 is not fly-by-wire like the F-16. It is up to YOU to pull just the right amount to get best performance. 4-5 G's seems way too much for an efficient A-10 turn. The flight computer won't correct your errors like the F-16. So don't pull too hard or too soft. Practice will get you there;). I'm still getting it wrong sometimes, but I can pull tighter turns now than when I started. IRL pilots do let "that dang buzzer" go off like crazy. It tells you that you are doing it just right. A Continuous tone means maximum (short term) turning performance but you will bleed off speed. Sorry, I don't know about your angels 14 problem. Can't help:( Cheers, BiPod

To better explain the OP: Stalls occur when the angle of attack becomes too great and the air hits the wing from a low angle. If it is too low, airflow over the wing becomes disrupted and lift collapses causing a "stall". This may be caused by flying too slow OR pulling too hard on the stick causing the nose to rise faster than the TVV (Total Velocity Vector; Aircraft direction of travel) can change. This horn just sounds to indicate that the actual gear position is different from the gear lever setting. It's normal, just ignore it :), BiPod.
-
It's a warning that you are close to stalling (even at high speed). From manual: When the aircraft is within 2 angle of attack units of a stall, a steady warning tone is sounded. When the aircraft is 1 angle of attack unit or less of entering a stall, the tone will become chopped. Technically, stalls are based on angle of attack not speed. BiPod.

I studied the A/S as modelled in beta 4 here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66217 This test was done to find the best method to stop in the shortest distance. After considerable testing, it was clear that the A/S system increased stopping distances. The best way to stop in an emergency was to turn it off. A/S did increase handling characteristics especially at slower speeds. Beta 6 has altered the surface friction model so the results will shortly (I hope;)) become invalid. Cheers, BiPod.

TMS left short clears WCNs (Warnings, Cautions, Notices). You may need to press it more than once if there are several notes. Pressing "ACK" (Acknowledge) on the MFCD will also clear it. "ACK" will appear as a menu option when a message appears. Cheers, BiPod. EDIT: Pipped at the post by nomdeplume (if that is his real name). Grrrrr... ;)

EDIT: My post here is withdrawn, I misunderstood the original question. My answer would just cause confusion. Sorry. Oops:doh:, BiPod

-Lock with the TGP then TMS forward long to make the TGP target the SPI (TMS forward long makes any SOI target the SPI). -Switch to Mavericks and make the maverick the SOI then press China hat forward long. -The mav will now slew to the target but you will still need to lock it (brief slew or TMS forward short). There are several variations to this which you will discover for yourself. As you have suggested, the whole process is a bit awkward, but it will soon become second nature as you become more at ease with the process. Try to slew the mavs while flying level until you get expert at it. Practice practice practice!

How to delete Flight plans;Mark points ;S-points etc`????
BiPod replied to deeteewan's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
AFAIK yes. Flick through and find the last one. Or as Eddie says, pen and paper. -

You must just fly much better than me ;) "Oops, wrong button. Oops, wrong button. Oops again." @ Nikola: The markpoints are named in alphabetical order, so the last one will be the highest in the alphabet unless you go past 25 and restart with A. Hope this is what you meant. BiPod. -
You can ground stabilize the Maverick with TMS Aft Short and don't forget to reduce the slew rate (UFC [2] then press "slew" OSB on the maverick page). But I prefer to search with the TGP and slave the mav to it. For the Hideout mission: Don't come too close until the SEAD flight has taken out the SAM. You trigger the strike by talking to the [?AWACS?]. Just keep talking and they will call it in. Cheers, BiPod.

How to delete Flight plans;Mark points ;S-points etc`????
BiPod replied to deeteewan's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Beta 4 manual page 247 " Waypoint line select keys, R5, R7 and R9. Used to delete or overwrite flight plan waypoints" I have never got this to work, and AFAIK it is not explained how. There is a workaround I have found for deleteing unwanted additions to the original flightplan... With page selector set to "Other", press NAV-->DTSUPLOAD-->ALL ORIG DATA (or any of the LHS options) ............. OR ............... just flick the IFFCC off then on (reloading from the MFCD load page alone does not work). This resets the original flightplan according to the DTC, but as nomdeplume laments it will not clear markpoints altogether or affect pilot created flightplans. It just deletes waypoints/markpoints that you have added to the original FP. 10% answered, BiPod. EDIT: I hope StrongHarm doesn't read this thread. He will just make me bow down and admit that the CDU reinits/reloads do have a practical use after all. -
He is contacted as per briefing on VHF FM 30, not 130 as per the in mission message.

Screenshot or it didn't happen :D

I was referring back to the earlier posts of the Star Destroyer (10,15,17). They were being compared with the post above mine (34), which was the Mon Calamari craft. I stand by my comments.;)

To further answer Q3 you can also use airfield diagrams such as those found here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60370&highlight=airport+plates Real life pilots will have a book of these to aid with orientation and help with understanding of ATC directions. You will very quickly just remember the common airfields though. Cheers, BiPod.

Sorry Effte, I was a bit slow there. Didn't know what you meant by a double pie and steak. Five mins later it came to me.;) BiPod

Well, there goes all my excuses for failure. Wow, just...wow!

Not sure what you're problem is, there is not much detail in your post. It may be the richochet as Headspace is suggesting (that's pretty cool), or perhaps you are using the wrong sight. The default gun reticle is the large circle on the hud, not the little "gun bore line cross". In low wind the gun is very accurate, and it is wind corrected. Beta 4 manual pg 361 "Guns Hud" section discusses this in much detail. Yes the rounds do take a long time to reach the target. BiPod.

I guess it beats being stateless. Earth? We were British 100 years ago. 50 years later we were just "British to the bootstraps" (Robert Menzies PM). Apparently that is one level down.

Sandman appears to have done something similar here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66617 but he has no pics. Click on the link in his thread to find the original instructions. It's probably best that I don't start a new thread. It is already covered. The snapviews are mapped to the numpad, but I have them also linked to my Saitek x52 HOTAS. My tweaks are provided in the spoiler below if you want to use them instead. Sorry I haven't labelled the views.
