Nearing completion could mean anywhere between weeks and months away. Just speculating about delays don't really work out though, especially when we don't really know how severely the impact was from the hurdles that Cobra mentioned.

It had the 2022 tag since the trailer dropped. I would absolutely love to have the F-4 by Christmas (especially since the E is my favorite), but like many, I have doubts that it'll drop this year. Too many issues have occurred this year for a reliable release date to come out.

People seem to act like there will never be a naval variant. I'll take the E since I can at least use it for countries aside from just the US. The ability for the E to be both Blufor and Opfor just makes it overall better of a choice to start with, then move to the variants with less world wide usage.

I thought they were adding the slats to both packages. I hope you are right since the early F-4E would be more accurate with some of the exports that didn't get them.

I'm rather curious if the F-4 will have custom board numbers. I figure that since it's not like the navy aircraft with all of the different styles for each squadron that it'd be possible for the E? It'd be convenient when it comes to livery making for sure, along with not having to download packs for different numbers. Either way, it's going to be exciting to see what people will make when this drops.

Not necessarily. We have aircraft that predates the most modern aircraft we have so it doesn't necessarily have to fit in with the other modern aircraft we have, just the aircraft that fits in with its time frame (I.E. Mig-21, Mig-19, WIP A-1, WIP A-7, WIP F-100, and other jets that are modded in or being worked on). We're going to see a lot more cold war and earlier jets due to the restrictions there is regarding information.

ED's announcements regarding most modules may not be totally applicable here. HB in general seems to be pretty hush hush, especially when it comes to new modules. We may not get any real information until a month or two before release in the F-4's case. There's also the MB 339 which hasn't gotten an official release date, aside from dropping with 2.8, which I doubt is 6+ months away.

I think the third option would be one of the C/B/D variants, or maybe a couple of them. The second one most likely being a newer naval variant, like the J or S would cover some of the more modern stuff that may have more obtainable information. I'd like to see an E variant without the leading edge slats for a different feeling when flying, it'd be interesting to dogfight both E variants to see just how different it was, along with getting more nations that could use the Phantom.

I pray the Phantom. I would like to get the Eagle as well eventually but it can't beat my favorite aircraft, that being the Phantom.
