I'm very glad to see the comments from the crew. I look forward to future chances to try something creative, and to really get into creating something out of the amazing visuals from DCS and Heatblur's modules.

AH-64 also had a pre-order in August or October of 2021 and then came out after a delay or two.

Do we know if the bort numbers will ever be made dynamic for the F-4? I recall the reason why the F-14 wasn't made that way, but does the F-4 suffer the same issue? I wouldn't mind downloading a ton of livery just for the numbers if it weren't for the limited space I have, and would also like to use for other future game assets. I know it's nitpicking on my end but it'd definitely be nice to know that I could give my storage a little break in the future.

The latter for sure. I just hope that EA hits sometime this year, especially while I am still doing some schooling and don't necessarily have a full schedule.

Didn't the A-10 also use it initially?

It seems fairly difficult to actually get a good answer with the development of modules, especially since literally anything is capable of holding back progress (Some situations more severe than others). I am fairly positive that we'll see it this year at least, but how much time between hype up videos and the likes and the actual release will there be?

For anyone knows, it could be all apart of their whole 'keep quiet until release' basically. They are most definitely holding to that if this is the case. Personally, I would like to see more update like the F-14 had in its time, but we can't really dictate how they handle the information that gets out.

We have the announcement thread for everything miscellaneous though. It'll be filled up with other random what not anyways, may as well add this into it as well. Now it would definitely be annoying if they went into one of the topics that are asking about information, as you mentioned, but still a bit weird to create a new thread just to say you don't like the aircraft. Now if it was another thread regarding why the E is inferior compared to X variant, that'd be quite a bit more reasonable.

I don't see why a whole thread had to be created for it; Opinions like this could easily go into one of the more populated threads... And get lost in there too.

Well they are definitely different. The century series stick has I think 3 buttons, the trigger, and the trim switch. It's very basic, at least compared to the F-14 stick.

I'm kind of in the dark here. What would it mean if an E goes to Poland?

Glad I am not the only one in such anticipation over this. I remember getting into DCS back in 21 and being a bit disappointed over the lack of F-4, and more so that the original module had its development suspended. Now with knowing the capabilities HB has, quality won't be an issue but future delays definitely worry me, though that's more of a problem pretty much anything in DCS has.

Highly doubt it. We probably won't see more F-4 variants until the EF release.

I am quite curious about whether we will be seeing custom board numbers or if they will be built into the livery, like they are with the F-14 and Viggen. It'd be neat to have dynamic ones if at all possible since that'd cut down on the need for a full pack of skins for just the numbers.

I think I saw on the discord server someone mentioning that there'll be more than just a little clip of the F-4 in there. I doubt they'd show it off on the teaser and not show it in the video.

I definitely have to agree that the E was the best variant to start with. Knowing how well you guys did with the F-14 so far is telling enough that the F-4 family will also be as great if not better. I'm hoping for one day, in the far future maybe, we'll see the E revisited and have a hard wing version of her, to give a good representation of the few countries who didn't have the Agile Eagle upgrade.

HB has a contest ending tomorrow, in which you can win a free F-4, and then the next day is 2023AB, which thr teaser for that had some hints that we'll see the F-4. Maybe... Just maybe, even though they didn't make the 2022 release, they are able to make a Q1 2023 release. Is that good?

That's just how things go when you have a mix of people online discussing things they are passionate towards. All I know is that I am going to buy all Phantoms that come out and enjoy learning each of them with all of their pros and cons... Unless pilot kills aren't possible in the F-4 as well, that's a con that I wouldn't mind seeing fixed.

20xxAB videos are also pretty large and would definitely be the time to show off a new module. We saw the teaser last year so I don't think it's a stretch to see something like the F-4 shown up in this, even if the devs have been keeping quiet.
