  1. Very nice, Masje. Thanks for all your hard work.
  2. You all should know that Merlin had no less than 6 bandits on his six, drilling him with .50, yet he was still able to belly in safely. Great job, Merlin, and thanks for distracting them long enough to allow me to get home safely and drink all your beer. lol
  3. Ideally, an AI set to "average" should make grievous mistakes such as spinning out, overheating, blacking out and augering into the ground for no apparent reason. You know, like the mistakes i regularly make. Totally agree about the damage model as well. Seems our bullets have about 1/50th the destructive power as do the AI's golden BB's.
  4. I would just blame it on my lead were i you.
  5. Looks great, Shahdoh. Looking forward to installing it.
  6. That package of modifications has nothing at all to do with my issue. To reiterate - I'm suffering from an unblended, flickering, unnaturally horrible looking horizon once i get up around 10,000 feet. I'm trying to find a way to disable the cloud shadows as the mod which dealt with this is no longer relevant.
  7. Once upon a time there was a mod that removed all the flickering/dancing haze from the horizon called "NoCloudShadows." The file it modified was cloudshadow.tga, which no longer exists in DCS World as far as i can tell. Is there any other way to address this issue? From 10k the horizon really looks horrible. Thanks
  8. Kawasaki Ki61-I Tei Type 3 Fighter Hein (Tony)
  9. I have found this to not be the case. I've had takeoff assistance at 0% from jump, but clients joining my server, flying in missions i created, haven't had their takeoff assistance settings affected at all. Has something gone buggy?
  10. Those who have contacted me should check out the Teamspeak server i've directed them to at around 1800 on weekdays to see if we're there. The DCS server will be called "Ponyland."
  11. Hi Will, you were on our server last week. We flew together for over an hour. :)
  12. Fakum (with cheese), your modesty is astounding. You must not be from NYC. :) And thanks for your excessively kind and undeserved words my friend.
  13. Hi Xcom, you and anyone else wanting to join in on the fun, can just send an email to me at Invisibull22@hotmail.com. All necessary info will be provided. I put the server up whenever i have free time (most weeknights anytime btwn 1600 and 2030 EST and practically all weekend long). Basically, if someone wants to fly, and im free, the server goes up. Hope to hear from you soon.
  14. Jcomm, you can d/l teamspeak for free here:http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads Get the Teamspeak 3 client and you'll be all set. Provided you have a headset with a mic, of course.
  15. Just got the Mustang last week and am having a ball learning it. Any newbies interested in joining my server for training, missions, dogfighting etc. just leave me a message. The server is up most days. Teamspeak is the only requirement. The TS address is clearly posted on the DCS server. Please see this post for more information on my server.
  16. What exactly do you mean by "at altitude," Nate? thanks
  17. Frames drop from steady 60 to 10 when AI shoots. Please fix this immediately. It's ruining a great sim.
  18. The manual, while detailed on the use of the gyro sight, doesn't have much to say at all about the fixed sight, or strafing ground targets, so i'm left with some questions. I understand the fixed sight ring is 70 mil meaning that at a range of 1,000ft it will cover a diameter of 70ft. The cross-hair is self-explanatory, but what of the other symbology? There's a dot and 4 other lines that aren't mentioned at all. Also, if I'm going to attack an unarmed convoy of trucks, what range should i be opening fire at, and is there an optimal dive angle for such a strafing run? Thanks. Oh, and anyone just starting out with the P-51 and looking for people to fly with online should feel free to get in touch with me.
  19. Yes, that's the default setting, which is what i meant by leaving it alone. It has no bearing whatsoever on the TAD-altimeter discrepancy i'm trying to alleviate.
  20. yes, but it's not rounded, it was off by well over 1000 ft. I.e., the entire flight was at exactly 20k on the altimeter, but the TAD symbols showed 18k
  21. As stated above, I've already tried setting it to the AB elevation.
  22. I've seen some discussion on this before, but, as a practical matter, exactly how should i be setting my altimeter when doing a ramp start? Seems that in multiplayer the altitudes in the TAD are always off by over 1000 feet as compared to hud/altimeter readings whether i leave the setting alone, or set it to reflect the airbase altitude. Oddly, this doesn't seem to be the case in single player.
  23. Hi Bramage - we flew together at the 1st VFW a bunch of times. PM me please.
  24. Hi Folks, I'm looking for serious/semi-serious simmers who: Enjoy training a lot (combat formation flying, proper weapon delivery tactics, comms) Use trackir Are willing to use TARS Like a great deal of realism, but can stay loose and have fun at the same time Are able to fly at least twice a week sometime between 1600-2100 Eastern Standard Time. Think DCS:Warthog is an incredible sim and want to join like-minded pilots in learning as much as they can about it. I'm now flying with some great guys from Europe, but we're having a rough time finding time to fly together, so I'd like to expand our group to include some locals if possible. If interested, please PM. Regards, Bull
