  1. 5.2 - Beta 02 Posted October 17, 2012 Changed to require admin rights on app start (fix game updates for some users) 5.2 - Final Posted November 20, 2012 No changes from beta 02 http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06-support/support-download-software-and-manuals.html
  2. Is there a way to change the default brightness setting for the TGP and Mav displays? Seems they are by default quite a bit darker than in any past version, especially the Mav display, and I find i've got to constantly adjust the brightness when i never have before.
  3. Some other differences I've noticed are a great deal more haze added which makes it tough to pick out images on the TGP and also gives the terrain a washed out, lifeless look once you're over 6,000 ft or so, and unless I put my antialiasing ridiculously high, I get quite a lot of terrain/object flickering that i've never gotten before. What a roller coaster ride this sim has been.
  4. I got a second update today as well, Mike. We share idle hopes. :)
  5. Definitely more hazy, and the terrain colors a bit more washed out looking. The effect seems to be exaggerated on TGP display. Personally, I liked it better before the update.
  6. adding 'UPDATE' at the end of the string in the shortcut target did the trick. Thanks, Orl
  7. That's a fair point Kuky, but i think perhaps the better way to approach things is that new graphics features should be made selectable by user instead of foisted upon those without the necessary processing power.
  8. I was getting that with cbu-87's, but not 97's. Same for you?
  9. I would also try setting your shadows to high. Counterintuitive yes, but its helped many.
  10. Peter: Is there a way to adjust the text size to somewhere between default and your mod? As Badger said above, it's a bit cluttered (for my resolution anyway) and just a bit smaller would really do the trick.
  11. Atalia: I've been with DCS A-10 since the beginning, and this latest version is the first to give me this kind of problem. I don't have this problem with anything else so i doubt it's got anything to do with my Vid card. And yes, I do have A-10 on the ramdisk. Definitely makes things smoother.
  12. Hi Slayer, I've had my settings even higher than those you are suggesting and by 8x supersample, all i'm doing is eating up FPS with no real reduction in flickering.
  13. OK, this last attempt did not eliminate the flickering I'm having. I've tried older drivers too from back when i didn't have this problem and that's not doing it either. Thanks for all the help just the same.
  14. Ty Zmey, i will try this today.
  15. Ace, I'm aware of the cloud flicker issue and the various fixes for it. I've already gone down that road. Thanks just the same. Something I have noticed is that the flickering seems to diminish a lot when i pause trackir. Not sure what the connection might be. Anyone else have an idea?
  16. thanks for your response Distiler, but neither of those settings have any effect for me, regardless of what they are set to.
  17. Yes, Yoyo. Allowing antialiasing to be controlled by the program does improve it, but nothing close to how good it's looked in past versions.
  18. Hi, I'm getting some pretty bad shimmering of the terrain (trees especially) and in the cockpit (straight lines seem to undulate). I've used all sim settings as well as every setting in Nvidia Inspector for antialiasing with no luck. Any ideas?
  19. Thanks for going to all this trouble, Lobo. You're a credit to the community.
  20. Check the size of the missions you've been joining lately. Sound files and the like added to missions may greatly increase load times. Personally, I've not noticed any general increase in loading times in MP. Are you sure nothing's going on with your net connection? Firewall issue or some such?
  21. Page 184 in the GUI manual explains how to do this very clearly, and step by step.
  22. By 12:30 they still hadn't moved. Frankly, going through all this seems a bit ridiculous to me. Operation Flashpoint, released over 10yrs ago, had a far more robust AI. It feels almost like I need to script every step of the infantry in this sim. Getting an infantry squad to retreat under fire should not necessitate all these convoluted steps. The internal logic should already be there by default. Thanks for your efforts, Tommy, but all you ended up doing is proving my point.
  23. Thanks, Tommy. I'll take a look at this.
  24. My sentiments exactly. An even somewhat competent infantry would open up endless mission-making possibilities.
  25. that was my understanding as well, Grimes.
