I also upgraded to an LG 32GR93U-B UHD monitor with my new PC. An incredibly large monitor that became "normally large" after a few weeks, and I ended up wondering why I didn't buy something bigger. In other words, a new monitor won't be cheap, and from my own experience I recommend thinking it through, preferably trying out multiple size options. Otherwise, I have a GeForce RTX 4090, so no FPS limitations in 2D.

Init Issues with Physical vs. Virtual Cockpit switches
Richi replied to JSF_Aggie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think the solution is the opposite. After loading the game, the switches in the cockpit will be reset to the same position as in the game. So redesign the cockpit. You can't have the switch always ON because when you are mapping a key the game waits for a single switch to be selected for a function. How are you going to map when 20 switches are reporting ON? -
In the Point Tracker settings, at the very bottom Camera Info shows how many FPS the camera is recording. But, I also had to uninstall CL-Eye-Driver several times and reinstall it because Opentrack stopped working properly overnight.

Are large monitors still relevant?
Richi replied to MJY65's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
When you fly, don't have small claims. https://www.amazon.com/GTUOXIES-Television-3840x2160-TS110TV-Stunning/dp/B0B6168MZ6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=32D0H5JMAE3C0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.NUA-vrwegR1Rsy2b5vmqs3nB5CTQQF0KD6CLH-kRmXJOlzfBo2mcShFrr1ixr1hL_zWW23-j2rg4bQP4h_Mg-hnxGwQDnzgdX96NMI7IFnoySIEeHGS6PqCiqZcYeNqC3u8xYylmmnonSaDAW_elIappQYT3io2Du9VVDQcSWz8_vLYG-eOwsN89KOJ40jOZ.rhrt23n_n-3GEsvsM84va1GysG0KrL_PGlIlPFpXJNM&dib_tag=se&keywords=monitor+tcl+115&qid=1735964716&sprefix=monitor+tcl+115%2Caps%2C146&sr=8-1 -
Ah, now I understand your choice. Sorry for my stupid advice. Good luck man. EDIT: I'm sorry, maybe I don't fully understand your health issue and I don't want to .... you off, but one last thing. 24" FHD is 53.13cm × 29.89cm. 32" QHD is 70.84cm × 39.85cm. Both at 91.79 PPI. 1cm on a 24" FHD will be 1,3cm on a larger 32" QHD. So the objects will not be smaller, but larger at the same PPI resolution. If you can't use a higher resolution = higher PPI (UHD), the 32" QHD will be the same as the 24" FHD, only the monitor area is a bit bigger. Try this option somewhere. Richi. https://www.sven.de/dpi/

From a 21″ FHD monitor to a 24″ FHD? This is definitely a strange idea. 24 FHD is, if I'm correct, 91.79 PPI and that's the same as QHD 2560 × 1440 in 32". So 32" QHD will be the same to your eyes as 24" FHD. If you're thinking about a better GPU and a better monitor, the 27"/32" QHD is much better for DCS flight simulator.

Anyone still using MS or Logi FFB stick?
Richi replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in Input Devices
The original stick is still original, including the diodes that turn the FFB on or off. Only the twist is gone. The CH Products Fighterstick is connected by five wires to the Arduino Micro in the base, so there are two USB wires. Only one or both connected. Fighterstick logically does not have the option of interrupting FFB if needed, because otherwise FFB works, unnecessarily, all the time. And with this switch I have control over FFB. -

In our country, KFC only sells chicken wings.

No, I have nothing to do with this, except the same country. Both links are the Real Simulator project, the videos have more on their site. If you have any questions, try asking there. I wish you the best of luck with this challenging project.

You can try 74HC165 board Shift Register from AliExpress

Seat advice for hybrid sim rig (racing/flying)
Richi replied to witwas's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Personally, I have a car seat and I am satisfied. The only problem is that the seats are designed to be installed in the car and it may be more difficult to build them somewhere else, or to add wheels to the seat. Skilled hands and a workshop with tools will be needed. However, if the first priority is not design, but comfort and longevity, there is probably nothing better or cheaper. It will never become a showpiece of furniture, but if there are so many enemies flying around the sky, who cares. -
If you have two small devices, can't you combine them to make bigger one? I'm talking about the number of buttons, axes, etc. Arduino supports 6-8 axes and many buttons or shift registers. I don't work with DCS BIOS, I don't know if two displays need two separate controllers. And of course I don't know which devices you have connected.

Fusion 360 is in the full version for money, but also legally free, only with some functional limitations. Of course, if you use such functions that are charged, then Fusion 360 still offers a legal license for free, but under precisely given conditions. Well, at least in Europe, but autodesk.com apparently too. https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/free-trial?us_oa=dotcom-us&us_si=a8b85edf-da88-4110-aa71-93583cd33846&us_st=fusion 360 free

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003693617908.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.20ad1802Rby3IJ I'm ordering this. The first SH has been working perfectly for a year already, I recently ordered the other three. The photos show 5V on the bottom of the PCB, but there is GND and it works great with the Arduino. Of course, if you don't have a better solution for your 90 buttons and 12 SH, I recommend it at least for the exam.
