I made a quick comparison between MSAAx4 & TAA without FSR on 6700XT: high settings, F16, free flight mission over Syria (flying close to the city, then to 10k into clouds, then descending lower to 5k). TAA is ~15% faster and most important, minimum fps is still around 60.
-
I’m considering na upgrade to 7800XT, and I’m suprised that with MSAA you have issues. I will check FPS on my side, but on 2.8 with everything on high, msaax2 and flat shadows I have stable 60 fps, apart from close to the ground over big cities. Can do check on F16 on Syria free flight mission?
-
I know, but The point is those new AA settings. MSAA - big performance hit, some visual inconsistencies TAA without FSR - moderator performance boost, blurriness, ghosting TAA with FSR - Great performance, even more blurriness, ghosting, artifacts On my 6700XT @1440p with just TAA I can play on high settings with almost stable 60 fps (not counting Mariannas above tree tops). But visuals are hard to swallow in comparison to MSAA, especially for moving object.

I am on RX 6700XT @1440p. For me at this moment FSR is to blurry, ghosty, etc. TAA without upscaling seems to be less blurry and looks more or less like MSAAx4 in stills, with a lot more performance. However in motion still it is not great. If future improvements can reduce ghosting and improve sharpness of cockpits it would be great. Also FSR 3.0 brings native rendering which is equivalent of nV DLAA, so gap to nV could be reduced. PS.

Spitfire module visual overhaul shown in Normandy 2.0 trailer

Yes, looking over original, I can see the issue. PS. Didn't know, but the lever is locking the ring from free movement. -

Is lack of marker under North a bug, or it is different model of compass? -

ESSAY, PART 3: Landing and stopping.

Very interesting angle over rudder work during landing: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=497019152143842 Hope it wasn't posted before -
After reading this, I am also leaning towards an option that it was a bug, fixed by new cooling model. From said Pilot's notes (https://stephentaylorhistorian.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/spitfire-ix-xi-xvi.pdf) : Also interesting material:

I made a different test: 10*C, started the engine, put it to idle and immediately started dilution. Oil pressure was staying at 90 lb/sq inch when oil temp rose to 10*C. Touching the throttle resulted in bumping pressure to 120 lb/sq inch. PS. Manual for warming-up is stating: Ensure that the oil pressure is within 60-120ft/in 2. Set the throttle to the position corresponding to 1000-1200 RPM according to the tachometer. Continue to warm the engine at an RPM of 1000-1200 until the oil temperature reaches 20°C and the coolant fluid temperature reaches 60°C (shown by the left and right instruments respectively) Nothing specific regarding dilution button either. Logic suggest that adding fuel should reduce viscosity thus lover the pressure, allowing for more RPM = faster warming up.
-
I will check later, but I believe that after a minute @1400RPM, holding the button, pressure still was staying at around 150.
-
I checked, and it could be - I set cold start at 5*C and after startup set 1400 RPM for 5 minutes. Test 1 - without dilution, test 2 - holding oil dilution. Rate of pressure drop was the same, and after 5 minutes in both cases engine parameters were the same: PS. I checked on Reflected's tutorial movie and there pressure drop is quite noticeable and happens quite fast after starting diluting.

Check in axis tuning - reset all, and see if max input of the controller gives you 100 reading in IN (RAW).

I checked after latest release, and I think that it is correct. 70% saturation gives visually smaller deflection:

Spitfire module visual overhaul shown in Normandy 2.0 trailer
jackill replied to jackill's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
But look from the customer perspective - base price of Spit is the same as P47. So new customer has two modules over two ends of graphics fidelity spectrum, for the same price. Putting sympathy over each module aside, probably more concuss decision will be to buy newer, more up to date plane. So it is important for devs to refurbish older modules from time to time if the want to keep them viable to be still purchasable. -

After latest update I found that takeoff assistance enabled by itself in "special options" menu, maybe it is the same case as yours?

[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
jackill replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
Great to see some effort to improve the situations with spotting. I had 4K 27", now I went to 1440p 27", so it is a welcome improvement. But, as somebody already mentioned: with zoom contacts far away can disappear:
