  1. Updated OP with your contributions. Think if Viggen specific named markers become invisible for everyone except Viggen pilots, the problem could be solved with positive results for everyone. Non-Viggen pilots would see less marker clutter, Viggen pilots would suffer less from marker deletion. Viggen markers should also have a different color to distinguish.
  2. While targets of opportunity are indeed a (great) thing in the Viggen, i really fancy the pre-planned strike role most. Having a set route, include nav points for a fix, set TOT to arrive on point. Just working on learning/practicing that part. It is a lot of fun. TOO is cool because things just develop spontaneously, are fluid. Planned strikes on the other hand are a lot about focusing on correct execution of what was planned beforehand. Two very different worlds, each asking for very different skills. Both enjoyable in their own way.
  3. Good point, did not think about this at all. Would enable everyone to set private marks. Something still useful even once data cartridges as a core feature have become a thing. Only downside would probably be that Heatblur would have to change the Viggen code to use private marks instead of public ones. But i assume this would be a relatively minor change. Thanks for the contribution Kang!
  4. Baltic dropped this tweet last week, just stumbled upon. Just an image, no news. Things seem to move on probably But i too find it weird. The map is not mentioned on the Orbx forums, not even an announcement. Nothing. Despite the forum is linked over here in the 3rd party section.
  5. After restarting a SP mission via shift+R, the "Adjust Controls" dialogue does not recognize any inputs. Neither from a joystick or keyboard. Controls ingame work without issues. Exiting the mission and accessing the control settings via the main menu works without issues. The "Adjust controls" dialogue works fine before restarting the mission. Open Beta 2.8.3.38090, single thread or multi thread makes no difference. Windows 10, Ryzen 5 3600X, Radeon RX5700, 64GB RAM.
  6. BK90 is a lot of fun. But so is SB71 toss release Love how the Viggen is an easy to learn, hard to master bird. No laser, no GPS, no TGP, no datalinks. No loitering at angels 25 dropping smart ordnance while eating a sandwich. Just you and R2D2s mute cousin. You really need to build situational awareness, an understanding of where you are, where your target is, memorize terrain features beforehand to orientate. Pop up, acquire, roll in, put that thing on the thing, pickle and get the heck out on Mach 0.95 while things around go beeep booop beeep beeep bup beeep bup brrrr. Viggen is when you bring a crowbar to a gun fight. Its personal. I truly am in love.
  7. The Tornado, F-4, Bo-105, G.91, MiG-23 and more in the pipe and many other relevant modules already released, a 1970s/1980s based Northern Europe map is a natural candidate. Available AI assets have their center of mass in that time frame too. Could imagine a Skagerrak map that includes northern parts of West and East Germany, Denmark in the rough center and parts of Sweden and Norway extending over to Gotland. Enough sea for carrier operations, good mix of different countries airbases. Would be the most versatile for the Euro relevant modules and assets we got and will get so far. nullnull
  8. Welcome to the cool-kids-club She's definitely an enjoyable ride and combined with that real world manual a deep rabbit hole. Can't wait to let her cruise her own turf once Kola drops (two weeks).
  9. Hello there, being a Viggen pilot, it happens quite often that our map markers get deleted. Either, and i think this is the usual reason, unintentionally/by accident or intentionally for trolling reasons. Setting up these markers for waypoints is a bit of work and having them deleted, especially when it happens repeatedly, can be quite some disturbance. I sometimes see myself just leaving the server because it feels like a waste of time. I would love to see a temporary/short term solution for this until data cartridge as a core feature is available. This could as example be done by: 1) (edited with below contributions of Kang and Machalot) If the text of the map marker is Viggen specific (see image below), then the markers should only be visible to other Viggen pilots. This would also mean less clutter for everyone else, since these markers are really just relevant for the pilot and maybe his wingmen. Maybe these special waypoints could also get another color, so they are easily distinguishable from common/visible ones. This would be my preferred solution as it is not intrusive and actually improves map readability for everyone. 2) If created by a player currently in a Viggen slot, the markers could be non-deletable by players (creator and admin only). To avoid clutter, markers could auto-delete x minutes after owner disconnected, so people having connection issues do not lose their markers. In case of abuse, the name of the creator is always visible on the map marker and admins can punish such behavior. Less preferred method, cumbersome and messy i think. 3) By other means, open for ideas from devs and community. Thanks!
