  1. One of the many nice-to-have things. I'd really enjoy that! But reality is, we do not even get a realistic infantry squad together after... how old exactly is DCS World? And this does not even take AI behavior into account. At that speed, implementing all the necessary naval assets and all the logic behind (actual deep water, a sonar framework, temperature layers, all these things...) would probably a 2060 plus two weeks project.
  2. Just dropping an image, since it says more than a wall of text.
  3. When you assign controls, in the assign window you can scroll the dropdown list. There are also OFF options for all buttons now.
  4. Did you try the search function? Go to your module specific controls, in the second dropdown you can select "search" and then type "mouse" in that field. Did not see a module that did not have the clickable mouse binding. edit: sorry for the OT btw. If you still can't find it Gunfreak, just PM me and we'll sort it out mate.
  5. Just throwing this in for the fun Cheap + good quality probably translates to 'building one yourself' in our case.
  6. Thanks a lot for your dedication guys!
  7. Great to hear it is considered as a future feature. (Learning to) Flying the aircraft in a specific envelope as a prerequitsite for successful weapons employment is a big part of the experience.
  8. Best recipe to make people experience motion sickness, not only in VR but with headtracking in general. -1
  9. Thats quite some weird assumption there. Not sure what your expertise in programming is. With a bit of experience in software development, you can make some educated guess about what is easy and what is not. Without actually knowing the code in question. Also from actual experience with working on DCS. There are things like certain control bindings missing for years for example, added some of them myself in an afternoon. Without having worked on the controls files before. Munkwolf did a full mod of it. A lot of things ARE easy. Same goes for things like adding wheel chocks for the A-10C. It is in the game already for other modules - no rocket science to implement it for another with probably some adjustments. Lots of low hanging fruits to pick and this thread is meant to point them out.
  10. Please correct me if i am wrong, as you got way more insight into the Hind systems. As far as i understand it, this is how it is supposed to work or? Like the other autopilot channel knobs to its left to correct the channels. Did not really use it though since it is not bindable. The Autopilot knobs are bindable with Munkwolfs mod btw. but only as buttons, not axis sadly.
  11. Lots of keybinds still missing i think. Always using Munkwolfs Community Keybinds mod so i do not really know what keybinds are actually missing without this mod. Would be cool if these would be quite at the top of the list - especailly important ones like the Autopilot Altitude Control up and down switches.
  12. Made a wishlist item about that lately. I too think doing a map slection screen is not really a low effort task but would involve quite some work. I instead asked for dropdown fields to filter for module type as well as to filter for only-onwned modules to be displayed. Think this would help a lot already - and should be quite low effort to implement. Did you try this one already? I put it on the mouse thumb button (and always got flashlight on/off on the second thumb button). Hides the mouse cursor and should do what you are looking for i think. It's in each modules controls, not the UI or general ones.
  13. A good point, having profiles that define controls shared in every or very most aircraft and just "drag them over" to all the modules automatically. From thrust and wheel brakes to altimeter knob or flaps and gear handles . Would save a lot of configuring work. Afraid though this is not a low effort task but the achilles heel of DCS and would need tremendous work: a general lack of centralization and standardization. Each developer does his own thing. How controls are named, if they are toggle through, on-off toggle, one extra bind for each state, if mouse left click switches up or down/left or right... some modules have environment effects like canopy freezing or fogging, other not (should be a core API to hook in)... it is quite a mess tbh and without standardization, these two default settings profiles would not really work out.
  14. From my experience, anti-slip pads need a lot of care. Once they attracted some dust - and they do well and quickly - they lose their stickiness. Got to clean them with water and a bit of soap quite often, the floor too. Looking forward to your experience, maybe the 3M differ from other manufacturers.
  15. Absolutely, thats been my point from the start. Make it an option for those that do not have a FSS so people can choose. Would be a shame to just replace it and by that push folks off the road that invested a good amount of money into special hardware.
  16. Would probably also fix the issues we got with the Mi-24 and missing map sheets, as we could do custom ones from F10 "alt" mode? Currently the Mi-24 map is pretty much useless. +1
  17. There are (lockable) hinges. Could do it like i and Hunter Joker explained but cut the board in half behind the rudder pedals. With the lockable hinges, you could remove the pin, separate the boards and store them on top of each other. When using normal hinges, you could fold the board and push it back to the wall so the rear board sits on the wall in a ~90° angle. In the latter case probably also put a bar, so the rear board can not fall onto the pedals. edit: probably use thicker MDF then, like 16mm, to make it more sturdy.
  18. Would extend this to "not open automatically at all" as this happens on a lot of other occasions. Just super annoying and not helpful at all. How often i got caught in the silly comms menu when i just wanted to check F10 map for a free runway on landing. The very moment DCS assumed i would like to request landing and auto opened the dialog. Really hate "feature" no. 1. Also please always open comms menu on root level, not "somewhere" where the game assumes what id like to do next like "request taxi".
  19. Ah, did not see. Cheers
  20. Guess this would need a track to be handled as a bug. Could someone kindly provide one?
  21. I'd totally take 5mm MDF big enough from your wall to where the pedals end and screw it on to that. Make it a bit wider than the pedals are. Maybe a rubber mat under this too. Should do the trick.
  22. Did not much with the R-60s so far, so i might be wrong. But did you maybe have the burst length in "long"? In the Ka-50, having burst length to long results in two Vikhr ATGM fired at once. Sounds similar to your issue. In the Hind, burst length also affects all the rocket pod salvos. Might be true for the R-60 too.
  23. Totally agree. For what i found, vehicles easily burn an hour if not extinguished. Having smoke plumes so quickly disappear messes with situational awareness and is unrealistic. Have not observed any meaningful performance hit with smoke, so i do not see an issue with having things burn for an hour give or take.
  24. Assets that match the region are really important. Supporting the idea. Would be cool if OnReTech could, somewhere in the future, find a partner to provide extra asset packs. There could be several, one for each era. Six Day War, Yom Kippur, Suez Crisis, Sinai Insurgency - lot of potential AI asset pack projects for a later date.
  25. Yeah, no bad feelings I was just looking to be technically precise because OP might look for "real" high-end products and mistake the mid-range ones for such. Simply by not knowing about the higher-tier products. All the mid-range brands imho are worth their price and are definitely a big upgrade to the entry level ones. But if you are looking for and can afford high-end, it is important to have everything put in the correct box to avoid disappointment due to false expectations.
