  1. It happened regardless of QV on or off. I'm returning the Super.
  2. Great list. I have been compiling a list like this for myself too. I will compare and add things I have found out. I run a Quest 3 at x2.0 Supersampling in VD in a 9800x3d and 5090 at buttersmooth performance. From the top of my dome, this hasn't been mentioned before: Download MSI_util_v3.exe (find on GitHub) and enable MSI mode for everything. Also set priority of graphics adapter to high. If running a USB VR headset, also set the corresponding USB controller to high. It has nothing to do with the manufacturer MSI. It means message-signalled interrupts. In easy terms, it is a superior way of managing and optimizing CPU interrupts. Most recent devices like graphics cards, soundcards, USB controllers, LAN adapters etc should be able to run MSI, but for most, it is not activated by default. MSI_util can change that. If anything goes wrong, run Windows in secure mode and disable MSI again. I had good results with it. I reduces input lag of peripherals and the odd CPU spikes. System feels snappier.
  3. Ping Ticket Nr. #108937 I have exhausted all options. The last thing to do is to try a replacement. Thanks. I really hope the replacement is better. I want this to work.
  4. I can't get rid of the jittering. I tried everything. Nothing works. I can only assume this is a hardware defect of one or more of the tracking cameras. I have asked for a replacement. If it is not a hardware issue it means the tracking is absolutely abysmal and I will refund the Super. I can't and won't plaster my room with QR codes (well I tried but it didn't work either). This can't be the solution.
  5. In Pimax' Crystal Super settings guide for DCS they recommend using the sharpening of NVidia GPU upscaling. https://pimax.com/de/pages/pimax-crystal-super-the-ultimate-dcs-setup-guide?_s=_s-l-f Does the sharpness slider in Pimax Play replace, override or mirror the sharpness slider of the GPU upscaling settings in Nvidia Control Panel?
  6. I can confirm and this is something that should be addressed. Question is: does it only happen in DCS? I don't have any other VR games which feature similar dark environments. Maybe somebody else can check. Night flying in DCS has always been a problem. In general I think gamma (and colors in general) has always been a problem in DCS. So this might also be a bad combination of DCS' poor gamma solution and the Supers color issues: If I use the general recommendation of seeing contrast to -1 and brightness to -3 in PIMAX Play I get good colors and contrast in daytime in DCS. Same settings at night crush blacks heavily. Back to stock and you get the color halos. I don't know if PIMAX plans to do something about the colors of the Super, it if the above workaround will be their "solution". The local dimming sliders does not help at all with the halos. The only way to get rid of them is to crush blacks entirely. In the meantime: Has anyone found a good setting for profiles.json that MissionCMDR mentioned above?
  7. Did you try the newer Pimax Play versions? Did you get tracking issues with them which are not present in 1.40? Maybe I should try 1.40 too. 1.41 and 1.42 both give me jittering in DCS. I only play DCS so I don't mind losing the most recent features of 1.41+. I guess you can't downgrade the HMD firmware. I'm on 1.08.
  8. A step in the right direction, but I have to say that tracking still needs improvement. I still get jittering in DCS. It's better now, but not great. And this is after following all tips and tweaks available (covering reflective surfaces, different lighting, reinstall Nvidia drivers, assigning dedicated cores for pi_server, etc...). New in this version for me: lagging tracking from time to time which goes away if I restart Pimax Play. Please improve tracking further. I actually believe the tracking just sucks out too much CPU resources. DCS also needs a lot, so that's a bad combination.
  9. No not Moire pattern. Mura is uneven brightness of individual pixels which shows as a kind of "dirty screen effect" on blank backgrounds when moving your head. Imagine smeared (sun)glasses. This type of impression.
  10. I got a Pimax Super, basically for DCS only. Now DCS is probably a really difficult case for and VR headset when it comes to Mura because we are looking at uniform bright background (aka the sky) a lot while scanning for small pixels (aka spotting). I get quite some Mura in the Super, more so than in the quest 3, which I never noticed tbh. It's ok if doing A2G, but in some A2A it is noticable. Depending on the weather it can get distracting. I wonder how much is ok or acceptable. Are there Supers virtually free of Mura out there? Also, does Mura improve over time as the panel gets more use?
  11. It's out now. Thanks. I will try and report.
  12. It's disabled.
  13. Ok, so I've had the remote session today. They tried a bunch of things like SLAM files and the tech looked at some logs, we tried a different DP port and lastly I uninstalled the NVidia driver using DDU and reinstalled the latest one. Using DDU to reinstall might have helped a little, but I still get jitters, both in DCS and in Pimax Home. I don't know, maybe this is acceptable to some, but it is not to me. I want to be able to look around without any jitters. It really breaks the immersion for me. Another suggestion was to roll back to some previous Nvidia driver. There are tons of them. I don't have time to try them all out. I tried two different ones. No luck. Their last idea was for me to take another look at my room setup. I have done all that before. Different amounts of light, different lamps, I looked through the passthrough and switched off everything that blinked or flashed (thanks for the tip I got here). I disabled all RGB lights on keyboard, mouse and computer. I tried different monitor resolutions. I tried covering the monitor. I set up big QR codes to give the algorithm more to track. Nothing. Same room, same setup, Quest 3: flawless tracking. Sorry Pimax, your SLAM algorithm needs to step up. It is not working for me, and I'm not the only one. I really want the Super to work. But it's unacceptable @Calvin.Pimax Do you have any idea when the new pimax Play will come out?
  14. I have tried both 50 and 60Hz. I only have DC LED lighting in this room, so AC frequency should be irrelevant anyway. I will, however, try your tip and look for flickering in passthrough. It is definitely the tracking. If I disable tracking (recline mode) everything is fine.
  15. Ticket #108937. I've already received an extension and have scheduled a remote support session for tomorrow, but honestly, I don't know what else to do here.
  16. Yeah I don't understand it. For some everything's fine. I don't have a fresh Win11 install (but it's basically stock settings) and I have both Meta Oculus and Virtual Desktop installed. Might be it.
  17. "Relatively smooth". This is the best we get? I have just put on my quest 3 again and it is buttery smooth. Night and Day. I won't settle for "relatively smooth" on a 1800$ headset. This is very disappointing tbh.
  18. I get jittery movement no matter what I do. It's not only in DCS. I can see the controller jittering in Pimax and Steam VR home. In DCS the whole cockpit jitters. This is at 72 and 90Hz, running on 9800x3d and 5090. Today is my last day of the 14 day trial. Tech support sent me a bunch of SLAM files and another pi_Server.exe. 4 different versions, nothing helps. Any ideas?
  19. Ok, thanks, this worked. I find the original much better than the PP QV. mbucchia QV allows for turbo mode and to reduce the border size. I think the PP version doesn't do this.
  20. Hi, I have updated to the latest hotfix. How do I now use the original Mbucchia QV? Do I need to uncheck Quadviews in Pimax Play for DCS but enable it in DCS to use the original? I have tried that but it didn't work, but I haven't de- and reinstalled Mbucchia QV yet (I have just read I am supposed to do that). Does enabling quad views in Pimax Play generally override Mbucchia QV? I get jittering in DCS. Generally the whole experience is far from smooth. DCS frame counter gives me constant 90fps and constant frametimes, but I get jittering all the time which makes it very much unplayable, it at least not enjoyable.
  21. I sometimes get 100% on a single core too. Not Always, and I haven't found a reason why it's not always the case. I suspect DCS just puts too much stuff on the main thread. Running 9800x3d. But I will definitely try this. Thanks for bringing this up. An observation when looking at your screens: it looks like both are actually maxing out a core. Core 9 seems rather maxed out here in this screenshot with your mod engaged, very similar to your second screenshot, which maxes out core 0 with the mod disengaged. Are you sure it doesn't just move the main thread from core 0 to another core? This is what happens if I deactivate the maxed out core while DCS is running. The main thread will just move to a different core and max out that one.
  22. Hi I love the mod, this actually looks much more like summer in Germany. But I think I have found a bug: I get blue cobblestones, like for example at the Hercules Bergpark in Kassel (the castle on the hill). How can you do this?
  23. Idk if styrofoam is enough. There isn't much room, the "neck" part of the grip is really narrow. I wish they had at least partly used metal. Seems I need to open the grips to see how it looks inside. I was just wondering if anybody had already tried that.
  24. No, I'm talking about the grip itself. The plastic bends a little. I got the counterbalance kit and installed a damper. That feels really great, apart from the bend when using the upper grip. It's not unusable. Far from it. But a bit annoying.
  25. Has anyone found a way to make the grip sturdier? I'm thinking about reinforcing the grip somehow so it doesn't bed anymore, maybe by screwing/glueing metal parts on the inside, especially at the "neck" where the lower and upper grip meet. This seems like the most bendy part. I haven't opened the grip yet, so I don't know if this is feasible. Has anyone had a look at the insides? Using the lower grip is ok, but using the upper grip has some bend which makes fine adjustments harder. I find myself using mostly the lower grip for flying, which is good, but you do need to operate the cursor/FCR from time to time.
