  1. I never said it was. Did you read the thread?
  2. I'm not so sure. Initially Apple was targeting the sale of 3M within the first year of release. Now after the announcement the projected sales are expected to be 150,000. 150,000 with be considered a failure. 16 years ago, people spent days in lines around the block to buy iPhones. Apple is announcing a new gadget today, and no one seems to care. (yahoo.com)
  3. $3500 has to be a deal breaker for the vast majority of the PC gamer market, including DCS. For that amount you can get an outstanding gaming PC. If you are the average PC gamer/DCS player I just don't see that Apple as an option. I'm not sure what they are thinking with that price point.

    Bahrain

Exactly Yeah I think to a few people who posted before you my point flew a little over their head. I'm not talking about improvements and things of that nature, I explicitly said the topography. You can easily see that the developers had no intent to "develop/populate" the topography outside of what is develop currently but that's not what I meant. The island itself is missing, exactly where you placed the red dot. I do also, that's why I made a mental note of it and asked in case there is a story behind it.

    Bahrain

I've only been there once and it was 30 years ago but I was sure I knew where Bahrain was located. Am I crazy or is it completely left off of the map? I understand it not being populated, but I don't even see the topography. Is there a reason its not on the map?
  6. First of all isn't Grim Reapers a Squadron of players. I think more than one person post under the GR moniker. That being said, some of the videos are hit and miss but it's not their fault. Its changes, seemingly unnecessary, made by the developers that cause frustration and confusion. I think they do their best to try and keep the videos updated but sometimes it may be too much. I tend to agree with you, to deny the obvious, whether you like them or not, is being deliberately obtuse.

    TDC Slew

Is this still an issue I'm having trouble slewing with my analog stick or buttons
  8. My curve is on 25 now, maybe I should just try increasing the curve?
  9. On the AV-8B I'm trying to use the analog stick, RX/RY axis, as the TDC slew. I didn't have any trouble mapping it to the mini stick but it is so sensitive I can't make the adjustments I need to make when trying to zero in on a target. I can get in the vicinity no problem, but once I try to put it firmly on target it moves to fast. Just a touch of the stick moves my targets out of view. Is there any way to adjust the sensitivity of the stick in the DCS control options?
  10. Thanks for the response. You are spot on, you elaborated on everything I was implying and alluding to. Just like you I was bewildered by the guy's response. That's why I asked him to explain. Maybe there is a reason he didn't.
  11. What's so bad about competition? What do you find so negative about two independent companies competing for your business?
  12. I'm just saying when you have a game that has multiple independent developers competition can be a good thing for the consumer and a smart business model would use the competition and player hype to their advantage. They would be foolish not to. Think about it, $70 -$80 is a good chunk of money for some people to drop on a game module and probably are only willing or only have the cash for one or the other. Whoever comes first will get that segment of the player base, the other will "suffer" from it. Right now, from all of the hype, there are players with cash in hand ready to buy a module, regardless of the business it would be crazy from a business standpoint not to try to take advantage of that situation.
  13. Someone mentioned on another platform (I think Facebook) that a smart, savvy business would look at the F-15E coming out and its timeline and try to beat their release date. The unexpected release during a period where buyers are excited would steal Razbam's thunder for sure. It would be nice if Heatblur saw that opportunity and seized it.
  14. Cool, thanks for the feedback. Awesome username by the way!
  15. As I said earlier, I've used a trackball for GP for years. My dad gave me one he used about 20 years ago and I have been a fan of them since. I still use a traditional mouse for FPS and things like War Thunder/World of Tanks. That being said, I definitely am going to try the lefthanded trackball for DCS. I'm using a righthanded one as we speak, but as others have pointed out, using a lefthanded one allows you to keep your hand on the stick. I'm thinking about getting this one.
  16. Someone forgot to redact Brendan's name in ED's response.
  17. I would definitely be in the mix for a Jaguar. A great aircraft.
  18. I would also be interested in trading for a Winwing throttle.
  19. Awe pics and some awesome artwork. I saw someone had a model of the Hawk ADA Launcher, does anyone have the Patriot?
  20. Growling Sidewinder has some great videos of 1v1 and PvP gameplay but my go to channel for content, ie instructional videos and other things, is Grim Reapers.
  21. Didn't the post count give it away?
  22. All 4 planes will be released in two weeks?
  23. My first duty station after DS/DS was Bitburg AB. Although I was in the Army I was stationed at Bitburg as a Patriot Missile Crewmember/Operator. I enjoyed Bitburg, and being a soldier stationed on an Air Base made it even better. Here are some pics from there in the 90s. One of the gates. Couple of pics of the Bitburger Brewery. Random F-15 flying over my barracks. Couple of pics of the country side outside of Bitburg. A beautiful Stream I found while out hiking/rucksacking View outside of my barrack window. It's the Battalion HQ building for the 5/7 ADA (Patriot) A pic of me and my buddy on top of an old bunker just outside of Bitburg. Couple of pics of the patriot radar as we leave a FTX on the Garman countryside outside of Bitburg A picture of a small square on the Walk Platz in Bitburg I believe my description of all of the pics are correct but 30 years is a long time. If I'm wrong on my recollection please let me know.
  24. Anyone else use a trackball? For the last 20 years or so I have used a trackball for general pc/internet use. I found them to be more ergonomic in day to day use. I've tried them off and on for several types of gaming throughout the years, some where successful some not. One type of gaming where I thought they had a definite positive impact was flight sims. As I switched from mouse and keyboard to HOTAS I started using my trackball to move the curser around the cockpit. Believe it or not I found it to be much more accurate and efficient. But most importantly, I found it to take up much less "real estate" of my gaming area. Once I started adding the HOTAS, another input device here and there, my desk space became less and less. Less desk space meant less room to traverse the mouse as needed. That's the advantage of a trackball, it needs substantially less space to work. It needs only the footprint of it's physical dimensions. Nothing aggravates me worse than trying to move my mouse in a timely manner to have to pick it up and reset it's location because I've bumped into the monitor stand, keyboard, or the end of the desk. That's one thing you don't have to worry about with a trackball. And if you use desk mounts for your HOTAS and you get the little mouse extension platforms for them, you don't have to worry about keeping your mouse on that little piece of real estate. Just curious if anyone else is using one for their pit or setup.
  25. Amazing! What kind of stats are you getting? Like FPS?
