  1. You need to adjust the camera boundaries. Tuuvas has a great video and easy to install download on user files to adjust this. The head is always rendered. But without these adjustments it will be "clipping" with the camera making it appear headless. Good luck, hope this helps.
  2. Not sure what you mean.. By default [Left Shift] +[P] will hide and unhide the pilot body in first person view.
  3. Tell me your avatar is a beer label, I haven't seen that since I was in Wellington years ago!

      It is 🙂

I'm up Holloway Rd (off Aro), so that's the local.

The beer's still called DFA, but the 'death from above' got changed a while back.

      Where are you now?

      Canada,

I was there working with the Queen Alexandra's Mounted Rifles back in 2015 on an exchange for a month.
Went to Wellington to see the Peter Jackson exhibit, had a Death From Above on the waterfront near the museum if I am remembering correctly.

I swear I took a picture of the label because of how rad I thought it was.
My preferred is Tui though, goes down like water.

  4. Because that's where all the guns were pointed.
  5. If you're reading this, it's already too late...

  6. Hello again, I would like to suggest/request a (relatively) simply addition the the F-18 that could be carried onto other modules and, I think it would be very popular. Simply allow pilots to put a custom name on their aircraft. If doesn't need to be more than a BORT style selection with an Alphabet instead of Numerical reference texture. Then add that as an entry option in the weapons menu like the Tail Number currently exists. Just an idea. Cheers, Edit: Could also link it to the logbook ranking system as an option for setting the displayed name.

  7. I never want to meet the fighter pilot who won't fly a plane because it's got bugs and dirt on it bahahahahahahaha
  8. nullwith the cold war upon us, it would be nice to be able to select no HMD in jets like the hornet. Currently only NVG or JHMCS are available to the player through the ground crew and restricting them is impossible (i have a script that blows you up after take off though ). I did a quick mock up of what it could look like. Also a check box in mission options to ENFORCE MISSION HMD SETTINGS to allow for late 80s early 90s PvP environments.
  9. it's funny because you can hide the Airport "Icons" in the Mission Editor, but it seems to only affect the ME environment. I too find the number of them and the inability to hide by type/size/coalition or anything would be a huge asset.
  10. Yeah it would be cool to see what's in the pipe. Even if it's generalized to avoid over promising. It gets frustrating hearing things like "Vulkan is coming" but then crickets for extended periods. It's not a deal breaker, just hard to keep track of what's down the road (other than a ton of announced too early modules in development from before I even knew DCS was a thing)
  11. I'm happy that it looks like you guys have been heard and acknowledged with the cancellation of the contest until solutions can be found. It will be good to see the big hitters take part (hopefully) when they reschedule it, overall it's a win for the DCS community as a whole in my opinion.
  12. Also a graduate of Hardy Way University. Have abandoned hope for today, I will try again at another time.
  13. Yes for template they are the same, For locations I put a wish list request for the description.exe entries with reference photos like they did with the livery templates. One of the many things missed without the Model Viewer....
  14. Absolutely, I have 64Gbs and Had multiple issues with loosing progress due to gimp crashing. To avoid it I had to run DCS on lowest setting in window mode and only work one template at a time. So for the F5 it was something like 6 templates. The entire first few sets were with the wire frame on to minimize the guess work lining up the seams. Then I had to remove the wire frame and do it all over again in high setting to confirm Roughmets/Normals and all the fun stuff was even close.. It was physically painful to realize the bolts around the collision lights on the tail are mapped separately from the tail it's self and they were green on the blue so then I had to find it and re colour and ........
  15. Hello, With the lack of MV, I would like to request a similar post to this one by NineLine For the following arguments: (with ref pics) -All bort numbers/styles -All helmet types available. These would greatly increase the ability to create great liveries for the current competition and the community as a whole. ***A bortnumber style layer on the canopy rail for people to easily add their own callsign to any livery could also be super cool.........

  16. Thank you for clarifying, and my guy, I use Gimp and had to convert everything to PSD because I am the most amateur of amateurs hahaha I don't even know what a vector is.. I just have a hobby/passion that I like to share. To be honest I have not been able to participate in past competitions like the Apache because I could not open the livery template files.. Unpopular take, but I could care less about 'a bad move' since no one mad about it has anything to do with my enjoyment of DCS. I think if anything it could be a move that encourages others to take part, I left my PSDs and Zip file unencrypted for anyone to use. Cheers,
  17. HI, renown does not = experience, I've been making skins for years just not published. I also do not intend to hold the community hostage because I have to work harder (marginally, I only realized the model viewer existed a year ago) to get a livery done. I don't make them to sell games, build a portfolio or seek praise. I make them because it's what I want to fly in, and who am I to hold back something from people like me without the skill/time to do it themselves. This competition is a great opportunity to get some often ignored countries or more niche time periods into the base module for everyone to enjoy. ED points and a free module are just icing on that cake. That's just my take, and I didn't appreciate your implication that those taking part were somehow, lesser than yourself. I hope you submit, Good luck.
  18. My humble and hopeful submission to see some CAF skins added to the base module! https://drive.google.com/file/d/18eyCwcvsskr7T_nblymwIPPngRe0gCAV/view?usp=sharing Can't wait to see what else gets submitted!
  19. I was planning on adding the Dutch NF-5s to my CF-5 skins. They used the same pattern and colours almost so all I have to do it pop on the Dutch markings.
  20. I am pretty sure the F5E Top and Bot FP templates are a match for the 18 pilot. They seem to use the same pilot model. Helmet would likely work as well. Got the CAF blue suits going now
  21. Absolutely! I'd prefer MV access with the new models, however at the moment I'm working with what I got.
  22. Update pushing today with CF Blue Flight suits and Red Helmets 1st and 3rd person working.
