Can you upload a screenshot of the contents of that folder. Also what is the full path to that saved games location?

DCS Keeps crashing on me on the loading screen when I start the game.
sleighzy replied to ContraStorm's topic in Game Crash
Wow! Where did you post that solution? -
Does that mean you’re sharpening in both tools, or have the CAS sharpening turned off in QVF and use the OXRTK for that?

Not sure I’m following…? The recent conversation above was about still using the Quad-Views-Foveated API layer for turbo mode vs OpenXR Toolkit, but disabling the usage of the quad views functionality in that api layer.

DCS Keeps crashing on me on the loading screen when I start the game.
sleighzy replied to ContraStorm's topic in Game Crash
No worries mate If I come across anything or have further thoughts that may help with your issue I'll drop an update. Hopefully somebody else may have a solution to this as well. -
Can you attach the crash zip file from your "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Logs" directory from when this occurred. Will be named something like "dcs.log-20241229-041304.zip". Please attach your dcs.log file after a crash if you replicate this again as well. There have been reports of the game crashing when George is slaving/unslaving so will be interesting to see if the crash is occurring for similar reasons.

DCS Keeps crashing on me on the loading screen when I start the game.
sleighzy replied to ContraStorm's topic in Game Crash
Yeah this is where using other people's posts and terminology for issues which can feel similar can cloud the water. This post, and your first comments, indicated that you also were getting crashes, not just an app hang. I haven't seen ImagesShop being the cause of a problem before so this must potentially be a symptom of something else. I'd even try adding an exclusion to your antivirus software for your entire Saved Games\DCS folder. Your logs indicate that your Saved Games is on your P drive? Did you use the correct Windows method for changing the location of that system folder from the default C:\Users\username\Saved Games? Edit: would likely have larger problems if you'd just moved the saved games without using the exact Windows process for it. -

sleighzy replied to ContraStorm's topic in Game Crash
The increase of the page file definitely shouldn't cause any issues like that. Do you have any crash zip files in the same directory as where you found your logs (named something like "dcs.log-20241211-110598.zip")? Can you attach that here as well. -
DCS Keeps crashing on me on the loading screen when I start the game.
sleighzy replied to ContraStorm's topic in Game Crash
I've dropped your log into the DCS log analyser which had the below to say. Note, your issue may be unrelated, hard to say as other folk haven't provided crash zips and there is nothing conclusive in theirs. Bluescreen Your system crashes with Bluescreens. Remove any overclocking. Run SFC and DISM to check your Windows. Run the below as two seperate commands from a command prompt as administrator: dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth sfc /scannow Try running a slow repair of the game. Delete Saved Games\DCS\fxo and metashaders2 and try again. Next, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP\DCS and try again. Next, try renaming Saved Games\DCS to DCS.old and try again. Additional items (In Windows): Disable Game Mode Disable Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling Disable Core Isolation Disable Core Parking Enable Full Screen mode in DCS. -
Significant drop in Perfromance across multiple Modules
sleighzy replied to Semaphore's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Drop your "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log" file (may just be a text document named "dcs" in your Windows is hiding file extensions) for folk to review your current DCS settings and PC specs. Ensure that this is taken when the game has completely loaded, e.g. after loading a mission. -
I wondered the same thing, they changed the name back again though so I'll keep you posted as to whether or not this has resolved that.

@slughead Noticed this reference that it doesn't work with DCS, don't know why, I'll test myself and see if this is still a thing: https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated/wiki/Advanced-Configuration

Given the way that Quad Views works (it's generating 4 views each frame vs 2) it is doing significantly more things than just the turbo mode. This puts more load on your CPU hence why you may be getting micro-stutters depending on where your bottleneck is.

No worries. Just had noted the install instructions had a different folder name, but looks like maybe they're out of date. I downloaded and checked it and appears unzipped it matches what I would have expected from a mod, i.e. this is the contents of that folder. So yes, still a mystery, sorry I don't have an exact answer for you at the moment.

VirtualDesktop can be more performant than Quest Link (it has a lot smaller overhead for VRAM) for a lot of folk, and is less prone to the issues you can get with Quest Link app at times. Easier to setup and configure items, more encode options, and has additional features like pass through for bringing things into your VR environment.

Are you slaving and/or unslaving George at the time this occurs? Your log errors seem to be identical to the same ones reported by myself and others on other forum posts with slaving and unslaving George causing crashes in campaigns. This started occurring after the latest patch. In particular this one:

So DCS is installed under "E:\DCS World" then? What's inside that "RAF_M2000D_V1_PUBLIC RELEASE" folder in the "E:\DCS MOD" folder?

DCS won't load Gamblers campaign final mission
sleighzy replied to Grubenstein's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I don't know if related at all but there are some really long loading times taking place here as well. From the below log snippet there's a 5-7 minute gap (goes from 08:41:50 to 08:43:21 and then to 08:48:37). 2024-12-28 08:41:50.469 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS41 (8900): instancer factors has been changed. Can you, if you haven't already, try adding an exclusion to your anti-virus software for both the entire DCS installation folder, and your entire Saved Games\DCS folder, restart your PC, and then try again. Just curious if there is long times being taken loading stuff if anti-virus is scanning these as well. -
Is this also the Mirage 2000D mod you installed, and followed the PDF installation tutorial on that mod website for installing it via OVGMe? https://splitair-dcs.com/language/en/downloads/?lang=en Not sure I understand, you said when you installed the mod that DCS vanished from your computer? But in this comment you say the mod does not show up in the game.
-
Please post screenshots of your OVGMe config, and the directory location of where DCS is supposed to be installed based on right clicking the DCS shortcut and selecting properties to see what the target is. Send a screenshot of the mods folder you unzipped this mod into, and the top-level folder structure of the unzipped mod What happens when you disable the mod again in OVGMe?

Repeated crashing during first 3 missions
sleighzy replied to tacoman802's topic in DCS: AH-64D The Four Horsemen Campaign
Me too. Only occurred once, late into one of the missions of the MAD campaign (I had been slaving/unslaving fine within this mission prior to the crash). -

This is likely a duplicate of this issue which has been reported by a number of folk: Drop your logs on that one as well. -
Same issue here on the DCS MAD AH-64 campaign on the Persian Gulf map.
