  1. Hi, I have bases from Thrustmaster, VKB, Virpil and WinWing. I've tried them all, except for the GunFighter IV from VKB, although I own that too. My recommendation is very clear: if you use an extension, then definitely a base with a damper. If you only use the stick (without extension), then you can discuss it. The AVA base 'wobbles' like a cow's tail, especially with an extension, and you have to like that. Personally, I don't like it. Greetings
  2. Hi, MSI expresses itself a little more precisely than ASUS, here in the case of a MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI: .... 4x DDR5 UDIMM, maximum memory capacity 256GB Memory support DDR5 8400 - 5600 (OC) MT/s / 5600 - 4800 (JEDEC) MT/s Ryzen™ 9000 series processors max. overclocking frequency: - 1DPC 1R Maximum speed up to 8400+ MT/s - 1DPC 2R Maximum speed up to 6400+ MT/s - 2DPC 1R Maximum speed up to 6400+ MT/s - 2DPC 2R Maximum speed up to 4800+ MT/s ... This means that with 2 DIMMS per channel (2DPC), which corresponds to four modules, the maximum speed drops significantly (4800MT/s instead of 6400 MT/s). Put simply, this means that you lose approx. 25% memory-speed. Greetings
  3. @TimberWolfThis is what AMD says on its website about the cooling of the 9800x3d: Liquid cooler recommended for optimal performance
  4. But the i7-1400K (like any other processor) reduces its boost (sometimes significantly) when it gets too hot. Therefore important! Good cooling. This means at least a 280 or 360 water cooling system or an alternative CPU cooler with a TDP classification of at least 250W.
  5. Hi, it doesn't really matter as long as the radiator provides the required cooling capacity. For an AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d, I would recommend a CPU cooler with a TDP classification of at least 250W. Here, as almost everywhere, more is better. With an air cooler, however, it is essential to ensure that the warm air is removed from the housing and that enough cool air is supplied. Otherwise the fan will start to draw in warm air (which also reduces the efficiency of the cooler) which will then continue to heat up, theoretically until the temperature in the PC case is the same as on the surface of the CPU. This means that the cooling capacity is virtually ZERO. Conclusion: Air cooling only if the warm air is ‘pulled’ out of the housing and sufficient cool air is ‘pushed’ in. Greetings
  6. If gaming is the most important application: AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d, 96GB DDR5 6000 with low (really low) latency and max. 2 (in words: two) memory modules and a really fast 4TB SSD (ideally PCIe5.0) for DCS and an additional fast 1TB SSD for the operating system
  7. Hello, if you are using an AMD CPU, use a maximum of two RAM modules. MSI specifies this as follows, for example (MPG X870E CARBON WIFI): 1DPC 1R Max speed up to 8400+ MT/s 1DPC 2R Max speed up to 6400+ MT/s 2DPC 1R Max speed up to 6400+ MT/s 2DPC 2R Max speed up to 4800+ MT/s (1DPC) means one DIMM slot per memory channel Greetings Markus
  8. Hi, perhaps these are the standard axis to button assignments. Greetings
  10. Hi, I once had a similar issue. If I remember correctly, the cause was (in short) that I used a modifier in the keybinds. After I removed the modifier, everything worked again. Regards
  11. The Viking S3 appears to be missing a texture for the light on the left fuel pod once you get cleared for pre-contact. The light just shows up as a UV map texture with an alpha channel on a cube. Seems to be a new issue with the latest patch.
  12. I had the same problem. Simple said: Its important to unplug the USB-Camera first before you install the new Version. 1. Deinstall the current Version 2. Unplug the USB-Camera 3. Install the new Version as Administrator 4. Replug the USB-Camera 5. Load your specific profile, if necessary I hope this helps. For me, it did. Greetings
  13. Hi, I had the same problem. I solved it as follows: 1) Unplug the TrackIR USB camera 2) Uninstall the TrackIR software 3) Download and install the latest TRackIR software as administrator 4) Reconnecting the TrackIR USB camera 5) If necessary, set your preferred profile again TrackIR should then be recognized by DCS again. I hope I was able to help. Greetings Markus
  14. Greetings all, recently I noticed that whenever I fly the F14, first only the axes of joystick and throttle work, but no buttons, not even on the keyboard (eg F-keys). Only when I go with ESC into the control settings menu, which I then immediately leave with Cancel, then everything works as usual. As I said, it only happens with F14. I still have the A10 and the BF109, here everything works fine. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance. Greetings Markus Edit: It also happens with the BF109. But only after a few minutes. All of a sudden the function keys on the keyboard don't work anymore and neither do the buttons on stick and throttle. All axes on stick, throttle and pedals work fine. The ESC key on the keyboard also works, but not the function keys F1-F12. Then quickly into the settings menu and out again with Cancel and everything works again.
