What i would like to see is: an additional info box when creating a server to specify server rules, teamspeak settings etc. Then clients can see that info in a seperate box on their gui, when they highlight a server they are thinking about connecting to. Adding server rules into every mission briefing gets tiring, it's hard to cram it into the server title, many wont bother checking a seperate website for rules, and whilst servman is great...it will only tell people the rules after they are already in the game and possibly about to get booted (for high ping for example) :)

sidewinder nose caps seem to be missing in 1108, was confirmed by all my MP colleagues too. and you cannot see fellow colleagues body/helmets in the cockpit until they've been in the game for a couple of minutes?? possibly not until they closed their canopy?

normal trees dont cause collision detection in DCS though

its just nice having dedicated hat controls for everything as described in the DCS manual, becomes 2nd nature after awhile. just order from someone who can easily exchange for another, if you get one that has firmware issues or develops other physical issues. regarding the 2nd part of your post, i originally had the warthog on the desk but got muscle stress pains down the left hand side of my chest from holding the left arm in a raised position for lenghty amounts of time. they were so bad i couldnt sleep at night, struggled to drive my manual car for weeks on end. i originally thought it was heart problems and saw a cardiologist who had no idea what was going on. Finally it clicked it that it was the positioning/height of the warthog throttle on a desk. so i ended up building a cheapo ABC cockpit...no more problems. maybe an extreme example, but something to think about ;)

TM Warthog Hotas owners opinions. Best Price
chokko replied to JIMJAM's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
for DCSA10 its brilliant piece of kit. One of my warthogs had a problem after a few months. Think it was just a wire that came loose (they're packed in so tight in the throttle its not funny), causing intermittent button presses in game. The retailer (SCsimulations) didnt want to know about it. They wouldn't even help liase with TM during the subsequent 9 [yes NINE] weeks of interrogation i got from TM. Finally TM did send out a new throttle, without asking for the old one back - but the whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. So my advice is, buy from a decent retailer who will swap the item for you if problems occur, or at least goes into bat for you. -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
chokko replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
gauge pack not loaded hi, when i launch hawgtouch 1.5 (downloaded today w/ gaugepack1.3), it says "gauge pack: not loaded" sure enough, any profiles loaded referencing the gauges come up blank in those areas. HawgTouch.GaugePack.dll (342k) is in same directory as the hawgtouch.exe what else must i do? cheers also, is it possible in future to define the tab window to display vertically instead of horizontally (user preference), to benefit those with small usb monitors in wide orientation and have spare vertical space at the RHS of the screen? -
A nosey question about Matt's rig...
chokko replied to mooshim's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
because its still more than adequate for sims which arent graphically intensive? i had a gtx295 and recently put a gtx580 in my pc...both had same performance for my single monitor+mfd screen. -
the USB Mimo 740 is great as UFC w/Hawgtouch, and would imagine would be useful for CDU too. Had no impact on performance adding it to my system. As MFD however, havent tried, maynot be up to the task as a proper monitor driven by nvidia/ati cards. From a touch point of view, it is accurate after calibration (pressing 4 points on the screen).
-
didnt even open the showcase xml in an editor, let alone edit it. downloaded your ufc etc profile and that works...so will play with that instead usb monitor (MIMO 740) seems to be working fine off to the side doing hawgtouch, whilst monitors 1+2 (driven from vid card) do the cockpit and mfds...no performance hit...nice!
-
hi, just downloaded 1.25, extracted it, run the exe and clicked on load profile (showcaseprofile.xml) is selected, and get: "error parsing profile! check the profile XML for proper formatting index was outside the bounds of the array" do i need to do something else first before starting to use HT ? cheers win7x64, .net fwk 4.0 installed

hello, looking for some constructive criticism of my practice jtac mission. Got 3 jtacs: jtac1 : playboy1: 35.0fm static, infantry, has two groups (1,2) assigned via the non-enroute task "fac-assign grp" jtac2 : darkstar1: 36.0fm static, hmmvv, has two groups (3,4) assigned via the non-enroute task "fac-assign grp" jtac3 : mantis1: 37.0fm mobile, hmmvv, has zero groups assigned, has the enroute task "fac", is near enemy armor groups 5,6 Fire up single player, tune all radios, press the fm chat key and only playboy1 and mantis1 are listed. No darkstar1. I try to raise playboy1 on 35fm and get no response. Even flew right over him and tried again, since he and his targets are in a valley. No luck So i raise mantis1 on 37fm, who is very happy to chat to me. Only thing is, he isnt assigning me the armor which is only 1-2km from himself...instead he is assigning me the armor groups next to playboy1 which are 50km away. If i proceed to destroy both armor groups next to playboy1, then ask mantis1 for another tasking, he finally assigns me the armor groups sitting right next to him. So my questions are: 1) why isnt darkstar1 appearing? 2) why does mantis1 deal with (and prioritise) an armor group 50kms away rather than those next to him, even though the armor groups are of same stength?? 3) when mantis1 is marking targets with smoke, he deploys more smoke on every IP inbound resulting in 3 or 4 smoke plumes going at once. makes it very hard to determine which is the current one that he is referencing targets from. Is this normal practice? 4) have ED modelled vhf comms being blocked by large land features, or is it a free for all across whole map? thanks guys http://bradensmith.com/dcsa10/chokko_sgl_jtac_practice1.miz

i did pause of 3-4secs but i now think thats not the solution, as it didnt work in next mission. what did get it to work was: turn radio on with right mouse button so it goes straight to TK, not DN first then TK.
-
ok, finally got several presets to work in flight, courtesy of one of my MP flying mates. you've got to do the entering of everything SLOOOOWWWWWWWWW i.e. set the freq, pause, select the preset you want to save to on dial, pause, press load, pause, repeat for next freq if u do it all quick...doesn't seem to save beertime to celebrate
-
yep, just sat in my cockpit...didnt help. can contact anything i want on MAN mode, as soon as i select PRE...nothing
-
yes i am pressing load when saving the presets in MAN mode. i was not pressing load when trying to use the preset in PRE mode, which is what i took Mars post to imply
-
as covered in earlier post, we were past APU startup with radios working. thanks Mar, that was the only thing missing in E.D.'s flight manual.
-
is there some sort of trick to this? am yet to have a preset work, i am doing it once both engines are running. Right dial on TK Left dial on MAN Dial in freq and desired preset channel, press load...repeat for other AM freqs Select PRE on left dial. Choose preset on the dial try to contact/tower/whatever using VHF AM switch...no response for any presets. change dial back to MAN, can communicate with whatever i have dialled in manually.

tried the command line in this thread? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68052 bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072 worked for me in after getting mission load issue in 32bit also, did you patch the game to v1106 yet?
-
applied patch to both, ran same mission in each o/s from a cold boot both run smooth now. excellent
-
neither. patch log didnt suggest anything that might fix such a prob. will install it on both once its downloaded

i'm getting a freeze with win7x64 at enemy weapon launch, sometimes lasting a couple of secs which has caused me to crash into ground This does not happen with win7 32bit. I've installed the o/s side by side...I only installed 64bit yesterday when i noticed that the req o/s for a10c is now 64bit and wanted to compare performance. sim is running off same ssd (installed twice to seperate folders) i7-920@4.0, gtx295coop [ 266.58 ] at 1680x1050, 6gb ram, auzen forte, warthog, mfd, trackir5.1 2xAA handled by vid card high tex high scenes civ traffic off water low vis range high heat blur off shadows low cockpit res 256 msaa off so if 64bit is the way to go, how do i fix the freeze when missile launches/zu23 fires for first time? cheers

Best, CHEAP 8" Monitors for TM MFD's?
chokko replied to twobells's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
reference 6xxx cards wont support 2 of the vga monitors + 3rd via DP they have a single link and a dual link dvi port. something amd skimped on to improve speed in other areas (just quoting what the sapphire tech support told me after spending many failed hours trying to do same setup as kuky, with same vga monitors, on 6950) the 5870 etc have two of the same (better) dvi ports, and work ok with 2 vgas connected. -
at 1080p it was, then when i started running it as a server i was running it at lower res in windowed mode (so i had screen real estate for other stuff) and it was running pretty slow too. the hard disks in mine are slow...the texture load stuttering at mission start/changing between views is painful. they might have faster HDDs in them now or you could put in an ssd

it (and other iris aircraft) were $5 over xmas, wait until next holidays for a sale if you're still wanting to try it haven't bothered loading it up myself yet :)

i got the JH model (i7-920 [1.6->2.8Ghz, ati5xxx mobility hd]) and it runs the game (same with FlamingCliffs2), but not well. i only use it as a server for hosting MP games, as it looks choppy even with no AA on. The 3.33ghz option should perform a bit better. Might be an idea to find a shop with a demo model, and try the game in store first. Plays graphics orientated games fine (bfbc2/rts games)
