Slotting on ECW practically impossible (especially with VR) on ECW
tribbin replied to tribbin's topic in General Bugs
Updated and tried ECW-slotting again after about a month. Slotting problem seems fixed. There still is a process eating 100% of a single core, but it does not block the rendering. off-topic: I have had troubles with the launcher since its existence giving me errors and (for example) saying I'm not logged in, but when I start it anyway the game shows I'm logged in and all modules are available. -

@BIGNEWY Why is the title changed to 'spotting' instead of 'slotting'? -

Previously spotting felt like a cheat in my low-res VR. I could just fly really high and spot anything (like helis between trees) on the ground as thick black dots. I actually like the new no-spotting-dots better, but it should be something in between. -

Might have been coincidence for me. After three hours of playing the issue came back for me and my squad members. -

So @PatatOorlog suggested that I remove SuperCarrier from my installed modules, which is crazy, but it worked immediately in joining ECW. @BIGNEWY -

Yeah, I've spent every hour since the update trying everything. As I only play ECW, I basically have to wait for a patch. -

I tried disabling TacView, but that did not help. Trying a full repair now. Repair did not solve it. I made a recording, although I think it is easy to reproduce: -

You now choose coalition and servers can opt-in on dynamic slots (which will solve this probably, as long lists of slots were not optimized in VR). dcs.log -
Long stutter, shortly after (and only after) Phantoms are Reaped.
tribbin replied to tribbin's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
With the adjusted graphical settings the stutter is gone; even when flying through the guts of the Phantom: Solution by @Rapierarch: PS Closest I have ever gotten to a Tomcat (not close enough to reproduce): -
In-flight refuelling tanker chutes only visible on server.
tribbin replied to tribbin's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
@BIGNEWY Tried air refueling again today with my colleague (to test my new flightstick base) and there are still sync issues. Colleague requested contact on the right side many times and did not get a clear contact and also never saw the right chute. (for me both were extended) When I aborted fueling and requested fueling again, the left chute retracted for my colleague but not for me. We were both using MT version and I was the server. -

Gun Camera (trigger first indent) binding not in controls settings?
tribbin replied to tribbin's topic in Bugs & Problems
I just started learning the Phantom yesterday. Are there more functions in the manual that are not implemented that I should know about to save myself time? -

@Rapierarch said that 16GB vram was not enough with my graphics settings in VR on ECW and gave me some advise on which settings I could lower. I have lowered some (texture/LoD) setting and recorded a close pass that would normally induce a stutter, but there were no stutters this time. Will do some more coming Saturday, but this looks promising. If my problems are gone, I'll give some details on my changed settings and mark it as solution. day7_pantom_1.mp4 -

Here I have a video with the same stutters, but without having killed him. Seems more related to getting really close (which of course happens much more often when you fly the Fagot). -
I don't know if it is a mistake. I got annoyed by the 2-meter-rim throughout the whole of Kola wherever water meets land and refunding it was effortless.

*unless you are a Steam user

So to summarize my position: If the module becomes incompatible with the then-current version that is used for multiplayer servers and I would get a refund, then I would purchase it. If the module remains compatible with the then-current version I would just keep it. The responses on the ED Discord for my (imho quite reasonable) condition has been vague at best and been called 'bad-faith', 'against policy' (some screenshots) and even people specifically stating they can't wait for my refund to be denied. Yet in this forum it now seems that the policy would be exactly what I was hoping and asking for. Why wouldn't this policy propagate to Steam?
-
How is this for Steam? As I want to try the F-15 early specifically because it might not be useable with current/multiplayer version in the future.

There are at least two claims from both sides that you skip. ED claims breach of contract. RB claims not being paid for a very long period. This is where you step in with your "suddenly decided". I don't know what is true anymore, but I do know that people tend to pick a side and ignore anything that might challenge how they want to view the situation.
