  1. Hey folks. I just upgraded from an RTX 3070 to RTX 4080 Super and love it except for a couple of puzzles. First, my FPS is now mostly smooth and steady at 80fps with stable frame times, but every so often the FPS will fall to 40, stay there for a second or so, and then return to 80, and these changes are not related to the load on the GPU. Sometimes it happens in a graphics intense environment, and sometimes not. See the attached DCS FPS image. My old 3070 never did this. Second. I used to be able to limit my fps using the graphics slider in DCS with no issues, and now if I try to limit FPS below 80 the frame times become unstable and the VR image stutters slightly These problems are not related to the module I am flying. This happens flying the Huey or the F18/Supercarrier. Any tips are greatly appreciated! Intel i7-14700KF 64G MSI 4080 Super Expert Windows 11
  2. Trimming was a game-changer for me.....especially after transitioning from forward flight to a hover. I am trimming the Huey ALL.THE.TIME.
  3. I do have the Quest 3, so no DFR for me. Thanks for the tip! Thanks for the info!
  4. Thanks for the tips, everyone. I have a 3070 and get about 45 fps in VR with the Q3 headset right now, but my graphics settings are low-mid range. I think waiting until RTX 5XXX come out and then getting the 4090 at a better price is the way I will go....
  5. I am considering a GPU upgrade to the RTX 4080 Super. Does anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with these GPUs in VR? I am looking at the MSI Gaming RTX 4080 Super 16G for about a grand. Thanks for the tips!
  6. OpenXR toolkit runs fine in MT, but the toolkit will not show up in ST. Does anyone know of a way to enable it in ST? Thanks for the help?
  7. This worked for me (so far!) Thanks to yaodknux for coming up with this workaround.
  8. Follow up on my problems. I got it working very well using the Open XR Toolkit.....all just in time for the Oculus update to V63 to screw it all up!
  9. Thanks SkateZilla! The installation worked. Is there documentation available? I am not sure what to do next. My primary goal is to be able to launch DCS in either VR or 2D mode without the hassle of launching, changing VR settings, and relaunching. I appreciate your help. Have a great weekend.
  10. Thanks for all of the tips! Fortunately, my crash log freeze problem has not been recurring. I am not sure why, but I suspect it had to do with an unstable USB connection on the VR headset end. Now I am dealing with some horrendous 'stutter" when in VR especially when in the supercarrier module. But it sure is cool when working properly!!
  11. Hey folks, When I tried to install Skate's DCS Updater Utility I got this message and wasn't sure if I should ignore it and continue. Any advice?
  12. I am having the exact same problem! The mouse cursor vanishes when I try to click OK to send the report, and I have to use task manager to exit DCS back to my desktop. Tips greatly appreciated!
  13. Thank you all so much for the tips. Good news and not so good news. I got the sim to run in VR, headset worked fine when I finally figured out how to use the oculus tools to bring up my desktop. (I am a newbie to both DCS and VR ) But now when I open my desktop in VR and launch DCS, the VR display goes black with the spinning hourglass icon, and my monitor displays this DCS Crash dialog box. I try to use the mouse to click on OK (or Cancel) but the mouse pointer disappears when it gets in the proximity of the box!!!! I have to launch the Windows task manager to close DCS to get out of it. The sim launches fine in 2D and the DCS Crash box does not appear. How can I either stop the crash box from popping up or select Ok or cancel to get past it when it does? Thanks again for all your patience!
  14. Thanks! I'll give that a try and see what happens.
  15. Thanks for the help. I enabled OpenXR , enabled dynamic bitrate with ODT, and increased by Swap file to 32768. The VR headset still won't go past the "Loading DCS" message. Sim still works, audio in headset works. Very frustrating. Anything else I should try?
  16. Yes I do. I am getting audio via the headset, but the headset video hangs up at the DCS loading page.
  17. I am new to DCS and borrowed a friend's Oculus Quest to see if VR was for me. The headset is set up using the USB 3.0 link and I can hear audio from the sim through the headset, but the headset video freezes at the DCS loading page. The sim is still working properly on my monitor, but I get no VR video on the headset. Any suggestions/tips are greatly appreciated! DCS World MT 2.9.1 MSI PRO Z790-P 64 GB ram GEFORCE RTX 3070 8GB
