Spotting is still a big problem for me. Firstly, after the update of the dots and LODs, everything was very good at first. But now I've noticed that the option of improved points and LOD detail changes doesn't help much.
Secondly, I found that LODs are used quite unfairly in relation to those who use monitors. The LODs that can be seen on the monitor can be visible only at almost maximum zoom at a certain distance. For example, on the FOV that I usually fly with, the game leaves me with only ONE pixel, which of course has no chance to notice. In the same situation, VR user will see a fairly large LOD.
1) Min FOV
2) Slightly increased FOV. So far, the LOD is simply decreasing along with the increase in FOV
3) It's almost the middle of the FOV now, but much less than the one you can use most of the time in flight. But now at some point, instead of reducing the size of LOD, it turned into a single pixel instead of just a reduced LOD as I would expect with an increased FOV. This pixel will no longer change with increasing FOV.
What does this mean to me? The pilot in VR sees a fairly large LOD, while I just have a pixel that I won't have a chance to see on the monitor. It's all a battle of hardware So unfortunately for me the world of DCS is over.. This is more a battle of equipment than a battle of pilots. Since I can't use VR helmet for many reasons, ED's spotting policy has left me no chance to hope for an improvement in spotting
And yes, I deleted the metashader folders, made all the necessary settings as advised on the forum and on YouTube, even set the resolution to 1080.. I think it's too much struggle for me currently
