  1. I'd like to believe that if their component quality (and QC thereof) was largely sound, their support would be too, on account of not being overwhelmed by more units being RMAd than kept. But this seems to be where everything has broken down. Support is overwhelmed (probably at the financial level) and the response has been to resort to chicanery instead of transparency. Yes, we get it, transparency would cost sales too but so does chicanery and almost certainly MORE so. For those that stick with it, trust is everything. Lose that, lose the whole shebang.
  2. I went beast-hunting (lol), only to discover I'd already pre-ordered it some time ago (not a clue when). I've updated the order but there is no indication how long the wait-list is for pre-assembled units. Anyone know? Oh, just to chime in on the force debate...makes obvious sense to me, get the biggest and strongest of anything, even if your use-case won't demand full-fat performance. Hence The Beast.
  3. *Sigh*. Is there any let-up from this kind of experience? I put my order in on the 1st November and it did say "4 to 6 weeks until shipment". No problemo, until I began reading reports of people who had ordered AFTER me already having their gear, explained as a result of them having chased-up their order. So, of course, I chased up mine. I got a reply, apologising for the delay but explaining it as due to a shipment of parts at their end having been delayed, with a promise my stuff would be shipped on the 25th (yesterday). I went to have a look at my account yesterday, only to be unable to login due to "wrong password". I know for an absolute fact my password was correct but hey, glitches happen. So, I hit the "forgotten password" button, message given of "link sent to your email" but it never came. Two more attempts, nada. Not in the spam folder either. Emailed them, no reply but I did get an email this morning from their ecommerce dept with a discount code for future purchases and hoping everything on my previous order had gone well. No, it hasn't. No base, no grip, no extension and no mounting-plate. I've emailed with a request for a full refund, failure of which by tomorrow morning will lead to a card charge-back. I used to have a lot more patience with this kind of crap behaviour but those days are long gone.
  4. No, none of that is right. The only time the stick should be in any way 'floppy' is parked on the ground or at the top of a vertical climb and static in the air. But is it hardware or software or user-error? Best advice, engage with their support and see if they can provide a solution before giving up.
  5. More corporate waffle. Jaap posted a hand-wringing apology in the comments there, "not how we're supposed to be, internal communication error yada yada", only for some guy to comment how he was threatened in PMs on your Discord by Jaap because he advised somebody else to cut his losses and get a refund. The general consensus now is that this behaviour is most certainly company policy and when we see a line like the one above, that absolutely REEKS of insincerity..."we want to express our sincere gratitude to Mark for his honesty" we know exactly how not-wrong we are. Lol. Gratitude? Say what? For getting angry enough to speak his mind in a video? Like he was doing you an intentional service? And "being honest"? Did you go on a corporate training jolly to learn how to produce sentences like that? Why don't you go through all the comments under that video, identify the large number of other Pimax customers who are reporting how they've been screwed over too and make them whole as well? Or is the soothing grease only for the VERY squeaky wheels?
  6. If you read the blurb for each of the models you'll see the new motors and gearboxes specifically mentioned for the Flight and Heli ones. That goes for both H and P versions.
  7. F4, hold right mouse button and WASD (that's default on my install, I've never messed with them before). Talk about a hidden feature.
  8. That was one of the combos Chat-GPT suggested and along with all the others it doesn't do anything. Ctrl-F2 puts me outside the plane but Ctrl + WASD keys does nothing. Ditto the WASD keys on their own. All I can do is pan around with the mouse and zoom in/out a bit with the wheel.
  9. I started off trying NVidia's recording function, it trashed my setup (audio, haptics and NSXR). Then OBS-Studio, that trashed stuff too. Fraps was a joke, Bandicam was the best but trashed NSXR. I don't understand why. Bandicam on (not even recording), my head is janked when using NSXR. Bandicam off, it works perfectly. Does anyone know of a monitor screen recorder I can use while flying in VR that actually works?
  10. ...does DCS have a fixed, unmovable camera position behind the right wing but not one on the nose that could be used to make decent frikking gun-cam footage?! It absolutely blows my bloody mind that something so obvious would be lacking. Edit: It can be done with obscure mouse and key manipulations. Not perfect but not bad either.
  11. That comes with all the models.
  12. The metal motor guard is an optional extra on the 2 and 3-DOF models. Seats, I think most seats will require some level of DIY to get them to fit. Flight, Racing, Heli and Universal are priced differently because of the different motors and gearboxes. Flight and Heli have the smoother (and more expensive) ones. The P models, ditto except the motors are also more powerful (for sustained commercial use, like in a gaming arcade. They can also handle more weight). For 2 and 3-DOF, the Witmotion seems popular. You need the gizmo and the cable for it. Amazon.co.jp: WitMotion WT901C RS232 Edition MPU9250 High Accuracy 3-Axis Angle + Gyro + Accelerometer Sensor (+ -16g) + Magnetometer 9 Axis Accelerometer (0.2-200HZ Output) Kalman Filtering Inclination Angle : Industrial & Scientific Amazon.co.jp: WitMotion USB to TTL UART Converter Cable with CH340 Chip, Terminated with 4-Way Female Socket Header, Serial Adapter (1 Meter, Black), Windows 10,8,7, Linux MAC OS : Computers
  13. You gave that much grief to somebody who actually has a bit of a voice, gawd knows what you do to some poor schmuck with zero clout. And you're promising now to make him whole only because of his aforementioned voice. And, incredibly, in this time of the camel's broken back, you appear to think that formulaic mush will carry any weight. Genuinely astonishing. At the risk of over-mixing my metaphors, it's as transparent as a window with no glass in it. Give him a full refund and compo for his stress. And no, not a compo-credit towards his next Pimax purchase. Lol.
  14. Un-ticked eye-tracking in the DCS VR settings, all good.
  15. I now have an issue with Necksafer (for openXR) messing up my quadviews. It was working fine last time I played (about two months ago). I've tried with both APIs in the top of the list. With Necksafer off, quadviews works perfectly but with it on the quadview window doesn't follow my focus past 45 degrees. The wings and everything behind are seeing the low-rez area outside of the hi-rez box. Only thing different is I updated the game to the current version. Anyone got any ideas? I asked Chat-GPT, wasn't much help. Lol.
  16. Confirming my decision to not touch the Super with a pole.
  17. Yep. Every YT reviewer who ever said "They freebied me this but they have no say on what I say but their product is genuinely the best on the planet (until I get a different free one) and pleez can haz morez".
  18. Just sent them a ticket. lol.
  19. Heat shut-down (or force-throttling caused by heat) is why I stopped using my Brunner FFB. Less than a minute of sustained full-rate turning in a dogfight and it was like the elevator cables had been suddenly severed. I hope the Moza does way better than that (mine is on order).
  20. I had the MFGs and they were great but my current TPRs are way better (for me).
  21. The shakers didn't get hot, the heat was caused solely by the plastic material. I was testing it in IL2 with SSW. I have two big bass-shakers on the cockpit floor (they weren't turned on) and the seats buzzers were never going to compete with those anyway.
  22. Lasted approx ten minutes of testing before it was back in the box and ready to be picked up for a refund. I ran it with Andre's software, all it did was mildly vibrate (intensity changed with engine revs, no gun effect I could discern, nothing on landing). Piss-weak and I became hot too, in just ten minutes. I also installed the native software but nothing in it for IL2. It's been out for nearly two years and they still haven't been arsed. I might try the Ushake-6 as that has proper transducers as opposed to this thing's buzzers but with two huge bass-shakers already mounted to the cockpit floor I'm not sure why I even bothered with the HF8. Bored I guess.
  23. So the HF8 works with USB with Simhaptics software? Does the software have specific settings for it? My HF8 is coming today and I guess I have three software options for it...the native NLR stuff, SSA and Simhaptics possibly.
  24. Does it work with SimHaptic?
  25. Which software are you guys using to have the NLR HF8 working in DCS?
