Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.
Panzerlang replied to Panzerlang's topic in Pimax
Well, it's been five days since I got an email saying my Super had cleared customs and was on the way to the local warehouse. They should have sent it DHL, I'd have got it the same day. -
Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.

My order was nearly two months earlier than yours but I'm only a week ahead of you in the shipping. Weird that. I discovered this months ago. Capping/throttling ANYTHING seemed to give the CPU enough extra work to negatively impact the smoothness. I tried every combo I could think of but the only one that worked was to leave everything the fk alone and give the horse its head. Lol. -

Dear Customer, Hello! The Crystal super 50 PPD headset you ordered is currently on its way to the local warehouse. We will update the latest progress on July 10th and inform you of the relevant information at that time. Please wait patiently. Thank you for your understanding and support. Best regards, Pimax Support Team Not unexpectedly, I have not received any update. Lol. -

Got the address-confirmation email last night. -
I thought it would be useful to see how long it's taking for people's orders to be fulfilled, so if you've had yours delivered, please put the order date and delivery date. Mine, ordered 20th Dec 2024. No shipping notification as of yet.

You'd see no ppd difference but you would notice the FOV difference.

Shame Calvin doesn't have the same information, never mind certainty, he was unable to answer my question about when a December order might be shipped.
-
Yes, they do. The 50PPD is coming first, the 57PPD is coming next (way down the road).
-
Mura, puh. As a bike rider (and glasses for the TV), crud in my FOV is nothing new. I already accommodate limited FOV as "I'm wearing pilot goggles" and mura (if I even notice it, because I don't with the OG), that'll be "grubby glass". Sebastian makes a huge deal of it, but I think from other things he's pointed out that he might have peculiar eyes.

PIMAX 8K Cables and Crystal Super Question for PIMAX Team
Panzerlang replied to Devil 505's topic in Pimax
What's the ship time for a December pre-order? -
I now haz two. The Flanker grip is a seriously nice bit of kit (arrived today). I tested only the trigger so far. The thing is BIG but fortunately I have big hands.

Lol, in the middle of the customer-support awards season you mean? Not sure a third of a year could be considered "impatient" anyway.
-
I'll give them another couple of weeks and if I've heard nothing I'll cancel.
-
That calculation involves an assumption about how many they're able to produce in a given period of time though.
-
What's the difference?

Suddenly I'm able to log in to my account. Where it says: "Pimax-Crystal-Super-HMD 50PPD QLED, 135FOV (Scheduled to ship in March 2025)" I ordered it 20th December, 2024. Where might that put me for delivery in 2025?
-
I've discovered it doesn't have to be done every time, so long as you hold the headset roughly where it'll be when you're using it before you fire it up.
-
The Pimax Super, was supposed to start shipping beginning of January but (surprise surprise) became delayed until "around end of March". So, here we are then...
-
You're somewhat less cynical than me. It means "We don't have a clue beyond we're lying through our teeth and it'll be at least another quarter of a year, but screw you mugs we already got your money and did we already mention screw you".
-
"Jaggies", a function of resolution and anti-aliasing. Do you have DLSA/DLSS turned on in the settings? What's the Quest's native resolution? I don't use any AA in DCS, the OG Crystal's rez is high enough not to need it.

A picture is worth many words. Lol. The plate is attached to the wood with four not very big screws, one at each corner. Edit, actually about 1.5" long. Mine has a 20cm extension. Even with that, it's like the stick is in almost-set concrete beyond 500kmh. If the force is set lower it makes the stick feel too weak at lower speeds, so realism trumps convenience. One certainly couldn't be effective online against players with spring sticks of course.
-
I'm pretty sure my FFBeast tops out at 40nm. I have no idea where the force is set at, I've pretty much just followed "do that" instructions from Roman. What I do know is in some planes at high speeds I'm barely able to move the stick and I did strain/damage my shoulder. I have it mounted to a wood plate and the grip is the Virpil WarBird (plastic). Both the wood and grip are still solid so far, with no signs of failure. 60nm? It won't be flyable at higher speeds, unless the user is a gorilla.

It's no different to any other 'complex' experience. Riding a bike, driving a car, building a PC, working out your new smartphone. The initial " Ooh, fk this!" to "Duh, so obvious, why was I ever worried".
