My FFBeast should be on its way soon and I have no intention of running it at max force. The advantage is I'll be able to run it at max Moza equivalent but without triggering overheat protection.

The headset rebooted but the "Video Pass Through (Lab Mode)" check-box had un-ticked itself. The camera is all turned on in W11 Settings. Why is there a line below that one that says "Passthrough" (check-box is ticked but it's all greyed-out and can't be un-ticked), with a little note-link that says "Double-tap the HMD"? I don't understand why the one above supposedly needs to be checked too, or even what it's supposed to actually be for? A desk-top camera?

Huh? The headset is working fine via the powered hub. I actually haven't tried re-activating the pass-through since I reinstalled the OS but from what I latterly learned, the top check-box is for an external camera? I'll give it a go anyway and see what happens.

More often than not, re-checking the tick box leads to a headset reboot that kills it dead and only a PC reboot will bring the headset/Pimax Play back to life. Consequently I don't use it any more.

I believe total elimination of micro-jerks/stuttering is impossible. Tweaks (with a very top-notch CPU) alleviate it but after weeks of that and reading/watching countless reports and videos it looks like DCS likes to spike one or more cores to 100% and that's where the problem appears to exist.

Took possession of it in July 2023. I bought the Apache strap for it and some extra gasket layers and it's now comfortable as fk. The FOV is crap, I can see semi discs on all edges (horizontal and vertical) but once in the game I don't really notice that anymore. Binocular overlap isn't great, I never even noticed that in the Rift, G2 and Pico4. Image quality is top notch. Software...these days, pretty damn good. The double-tap camera pass-through almost never works though but the in-built OpenXR and Quadviews, flawless. No battery issues and I've had the same one in since I bought it. So, fire up Pimax Play. Center the unit with a controller. Fire up NSXR. Fire up DCS. Hit center button. Fly. If the Super performs as well I'll have no complaints. I figure I'll have to downscale that however but maybe the 5090 will alleviate it somewhat. Roll on January and a big dollop of Pimax QC Lottery luck. Lol.

I fondly recall a conversation on the phone with a real human at Amazon UK support, who tried to insist my warranty claim had to be made directly to the manufacturer. Within a minute of me citing UK Trading Standards regulations she folded. The item was in my possession around seven months and it failed, sent it back for a full refund (after the convo with support). I've had numerous similar phone or email interactions with retailers over the years. Some genuinely don't understand the regulations but just as many are trying it on.

Absolutely, but unfortunately a lot of his advice is based upon completely erroneous information. Plus no mention of the very decent discount (over $400) that Crystal owners can get if they put their pre-order in by Dec 31st. I did a video. Sure, I "don't come along very nicely" but I have no hidden motives. Shoot from the hip at clearly deserving spivs, hucksters and charlatans. If he was honest he wouldn't hide critical comments from his viewers, that's pretty basic ethical-101. Be transparent and take the rough with the smooth. But image-manipulation is standard with these 'influencers'.

Before my OS reinstall I was finding Pimax' native OpenXR and Quadviews to be marginally better than the external solutions. That's all I have installed now.

That's illegal under UK law. The retailer is legally obligated to handle all and any warranty issues for a product they sold. I used to live in Hailsham.

I believe that interrupt setting reduces the amount of CPU checks, not increases them. Forgot to mention...it's made no apparent difference. What DID make a visible difference was updating my NVidia drivers. My W11 reinstall had an old 550 driver auto-loaded and it produced noticeably less micro-stutter than the most current one (566-something).

I've half watched quite a few of his videos but I've spotted the trend where he'll give the latest new freebie a good run in the sun, doing his best to keep more coming. Praises it up (whatever it is) but adds a couple of minor "nit picks" to give the veneer of the afore-mentioned credibility. He's hidden my comments from public view so he can have his tantrum but not bright enough to calculate the screenie, otherwise I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have revealed his true self with this doozie. Yep, this is the guy handing out advise to the VR public. Mark (GYGO) on the other hand, even after giving Jaap from Pimax a platform to respond, didn't stop whaling on them in his comments. He doesn't whore for freebies, which is why I regard anything he says in HIS videos as legit. Influencers have an obligation to strive for ethical standards and that should be obvious. Yes, many of us 'cynics' are already aware of the greed-agenda motives of these so-called reviewer/influencers. Free kit and lots of monetized clicks & views, whatever product they've been given to 'review' will get the solid thumbs-up, with a couple of minor "nit picks" to give a veneer of credibility. VR Flight Sim Guy, clearly miffed that Pimax didn't send him a Super to 'test and review', so he advises people not to pre-order, citing a clearly erroneous bunch of BS about how it will HAVE to be down-sampled from native rez and how that will degrade the image (he thinks a VR panel is the same as a monitor, lol). And then tells people to wait for him to get a purchased one with his opinion before getting one themselves. I pointed that out, he called me a 'troll' and removed my ability to reply. Lol. Furiously building his echo-chamber over there.

102 FOV, other than that it would be a no-brainer for sims.

I tried OBS, Bandicam, NVidia Shadow Play and FRAPS, all produced in-game stuttering. I reinstalled my OS (W11 Pro) and after the update to 24H2 I noticed what I think is a new feature, "Game Bar". It has a video capture widget in it that as far as I've been able to see doesn't impact game performance at all. Example video here: It might be worth a shot (upgrade to W11 24H2).

Since they updated the return window to two weeks and there's a $400 discount for Crystal owners I decided to give the Super a go and pre-ordered it. I'm also impressed with their native Quadviews software. I would have bought the Somnium VR1 if they sold them to Japan but they dropped the ball on that.

The seat is rolled back against a rail and the joystick is pulled back on its floor panel into the front and bolted so it can't slide forward when the rudder-pedals are pressed.

I can't find the Latency stuff. Did the power throttling disable though (by enabling it, lol).

Yeah, here too, that entire line was missing from my lua file. It all worked three days ago (first time it was ever fired up in DCS), three days later the green connection icon for "game" was black. I have no idea how a line in a file can simply vanish by itself. I'll see if it works next time I go on our group's MP server.
