  1. After re-reading your post carefully this time, I see that you are referring to a trim reset -- something I rarely do. My apologies for not reading more carefully!
  2. probably could use the one you've already got for the A10, minus the refueling section?
  3. Don't know if this relates to the behavior you're experiencing, or if you've already read it -- but thought others might benefit: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=583711&postcount=42 Also -- an excellent, brief guide to using the trimmer: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=572028&postcount=34
  4. Rider -- my FPS dropped by about 4 during the explosion of the tanker, barely noticeable, and very nice! Thanks for your efforts --
  5. mslama -- thanks alot -- I tried your latest version and it seems to have improved greatly -- really quite a difference -- I can't thank you enough! Now I'll try Rider1s files!
  6. As time went by, i.e., I had more flight hours in the Ka-50, there was a point in time when suddenly I realized that a transformation had taken place -- I was no longer strapped to the Blackshark -- it was now strapped to me. It's not intuitive, not easy, at times can be extremely frustrating, but you'll eventually be able to trim the helo with great finesse, as it was designed -- with or without a FFB stick (I personally don't have one). But maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem you're having -- msalama: could you post a track of this behavior and then I'll try to reproduce it, and see if I run into the same problem?
  7. made a world of difference for me -- rep inbound!
  8. You'll have to find a fast net connection and download BS1 and BS2 *upgrade*. Doesn't matter if you already have DCS World installed -- go ahead and install BS1, register it, then install BS2 *Upgrade* and register it. Then uninstall BS1.
  9. Just now checking in after a much too long hiatus from my all-time favorite flight sim. Very exciting time -- it looks like a lot of different aircraft are in development! I wondered if there was any talk of any of the development groups working on an Apache AH-64 variant? I'd love to try and guide a hellfire down this chimney! :joystick:
  10. "The Bear Went Over the Mountain: Soviet Combat Tactics in Afghanistan" - Lester W. Grau
  11. Great narrative Beach -- as usual. I remember that mission -- specifically the lovely new sound effects related to my Ka-50 being riddled with triple A. I think I nearly jumped out of my chair in fright! The mountain/valley flying, bad weather, etc. -- I was already white-knuckling it, and then to be hit with enemy fire...awesome! Well, you know -- in a good way! Can't wait to get my hotas/display/trackIR all set back up so I can revisit this masterpiece.
  12. I've just downloaded the latest version of DCS: World, and own the original DCS: Blackshark 1 DVD. My question is -- am I supposed to install BS1 from the DVD (I realize this won't install to DCS: World) and then download the Blackshark 2 "Upgrade", and then it installs properly into DCS: World? And then I can "uninstall" BS1 from wherever it installed? Kind of miffed because I can't seem to find my BS2 license, and I know I purchased it when it first became available. At any rate, I'd be happy to just know the correct installation procedure.
  13. When you are flying back to the base, a few miles out, and the leader tells you you have 10 minutes to get your sh** together, start your stop watch on the clock. If memory serves me, it's a good 15 minutes (the initial 10 then another 5) before the new leader shows up at the end of the runway. Right before he shows up--two frogfoots land and taxi all the way down the runway toward you. The new leader shows up right when they turn off the runway and onto the taxiway near the end of the runway. If you saw the frogfoots land, and they are no longer on the runway--your leader has already taken off. You have to keep your eye on that runway the WHOLE time you are waiting--I've probably flown that mission a dozen times, and have somehow missed the new leader more times than I'd like to count. YOu get bored waiting, and start practicing hovering, etc. Pay Attention. If you refuel very quickly and get right in position at the end of the runway, it seems like it takes FOREVER for those Su-25's to land. Be patient. This campaign is the best designed I've ever flown in ANY sim. Please don't dump on the developers because of some mistake YOU are making :pain:
  14. I'm thinking about giving a bit more time--but want to keep it fast paced, emergency kind of situation. If I remember correctly, I wanted to give the player time enough for two passes on the target before it blows.
  15. Thanks WarriorX--I enjoy all your tutorials! I'm doing some more research before I post any more missions in my proposed campaign--currently reading The Soviet -Afghan War, How A Superpower Fought and Lost, and A Nightmare's Prayer about a harrier pilot's CAS experience in Afghanistan, and a comprehensive military history of Afghanistan, the title of which, eludes me at the moment.
  16. When you think you've got a pretty good chance of being able to dock the space shuttle with the ISS, just because you can land the Ka-50 on a helopad in bad weather.
  17. When you try to drive to the convenient store soley on cruise control, trying for all you're worth, not to have to use the gas/clutch/brake pedals.
  18. When you hear about fighter pilot wash outs becoming helo pilots, and then think surely it must be the other way around.
  19. When you load up A10C for the first time, go through the startup sequence and think 'That's it?'
  20. I updated the first mission--yes, you have to refuel for a successful mission--but once you pass Zayu on the way back, I've included another voiceover about rejoining with tanker. At that point, you no longer are required to stay in formation, and go full mil power to tanker. AI lead hits tanker first, then you refuel, and then RTB for a visual approach. Thanks for comments guys!
  21. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/86343/ From the briefing: On Call CAS Earlier this evening, two insurgent vehicles tried to take out DC Zayu--suicide bomber style. Luckily, the sharp shooters at Zayu were able to take out the drivers with the 50 cal -- just in time. Takeoff immediately and contact AFAC at Control Point (CP) for tasking. Ugly 1-1 is in for repairs -- so you're on your own tonight. Intel says there might be more suicide attacks on Zayu. There's also some intel about some possible artillery pieces that may have been setup within range of the DC. Be sure to study your maps for best ingress--most likely you'll be attacking something on the main road going through Zayu. You'll need good LOS in order to spot any lasers from the AFAC. You're loaded up with GBU-10's--and only 50% fuel. You'll likely have to hit the tanker before you RTB. Predator AFAC is on station and will lase targets as required. Tower -- 135 VHF AM ILS -- 109.30, Runway 30 Flight -- 251 UHF AFAC -- 124 VHF AM Tanker -- 150 VHF AM, TACAN 23X
  22. Next mission coming soon--you guys should like it. Suicide bomber trucks have been trying to hit DC Zayu--you've got to hit inbound truck with LGB--AFAC lases target for you.
  23. GoonerTC--I'm trying to get rid of that message--thanks for the comments!
  24. Isn't that the pitch change you feel when master arm goes on and off?
  25. This is a single player mission--the first in a possible future campaign, if there is substantial interest. I encourage critisism/critique. I did the V/O's myself--but if enough interest is shown, would probably get some actors involved for future missions. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/84751/ From the briefing: This is a prototype mission for a possible future campaign. Having read "A-10s Over Kosovo" from Air University Press, and Ed Macy's "Apache: Inside the Cockpit of the World's Most Deadly Fighting Machine", I was inspired to create a campaign that, as closely as possible, recreates the atmosphere of the CAS pilots as described in those books. I wouldn't have thought it possible if it were'nt for what, IMHO, is the reigning champ of all of the DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark campaigns, The Vergeev Group. I highly recommend both the Ka-50 sim, and The Vergeev Group campaign. It's the closest to reality that most of us will ever get. The intro mission involves tactical formation flying, refueling, and an introduction to the theatre of operations.
