  1. Yea and I fully understand some of these ideas are a bit complex. We don't even know how to do some, it was merely an idea that we hoped to explore. But something you can try it is spinning engines. If you look at our sim-mod A-10, the engines spin since its attached to the argument of the wheel. So as the wheel turns, so does the engines. Although it doesn't look that realistic, its a start. And the second when you take off, the engines appear blur so it still looks like its spinning. But this is not a priority since the engines blades are pretty deep within the intakes. And upon takeoff, the FOD guard kinda blocks the view.
  2. Thanks SkieRider for the side shot. I'm pretty satisfied with the shape, it closely matches to the most accurate layout I have. good job. I know it was pretty difficult to get it to the correct shape. Here's for others to see: Note: I do know that it looks slightly off, but that's my fault since I did a rush job on pasting the layout on top of the picture. If others want to see for yourself, I attached below the most accurate layout of the Su-27 I could find on the net. Although the zipped file is only 894 KB, when you unzip it its about 120 mb since its at res 6727x4691 btw: will there be a new pilot? Layout.zip
  3. I do have a couple request though for the 3GO group 1.) could we have a side picture of your new Su-27? I would like to see if the nose/spine shape is correct. Something like this Some ideas we at sim-mod was planning to do with our Su-27 for project firefly was this: Engine's limited air duct (FOD guard position) During ejecting you could see the details in the cockpit like the rails Pylons could be invisible by using tga files so it would be great for aerobatic usage. So you get a "clean" look The The OLS-27 moves as the pilot's head moves Black smog would be emitted from the engines when it hits the first stage of afterburner (only a brief second) ^ note: i know this last picture isnt black smog but it looks cool :P Among other ideas such as: Grill (below the engines) are animated during turning front slats are in the correct position durning takeoff front slats on the wings move new afterburner very smooth nozzle movement during power ups So yea, feel free to incorporate any of these ideas.
  4. Yea the one Vekkinho is talking about is by strikemax What Ada did to the Mirage 2000 is a very interesting idea. Would really like to see that apply to the Su-27. However, to make it look more realistic, you could try to make it lighter. Here's a couple shots of the air condensation. Would be cool to see this during turning or cobra moves.
  5. No sim-mod A-10 has not incorporated into BS and cannot be added. Even though it looks good in your eyes (and we of sim-mod thank you for that), I know there's some flaws so it wont be included. But rest assured of course with any new module coming out from ED, of course their will be a new high quality and accurate model. You don't see the stock Ka-50 model from FC in BS ;) Basically ED is setting a standard, the same amount of detail and attention that you saw in BS will be in all future modules.
  6. Unfortunately due to the Lock On code, you can't create a radical damage model like the Su-25T or the Ka-50. You can only follow something along the lines of the original stock model otherwise it wont be triggered properly. So that means the plane can't crack in half otherwise you would have trailing fire. And the original Su-27's damage model only seem to be secluded to the wings, and tails. 3GO however could add panels being blown off and connect that with the damage from the wings. That would work, but nothing along the lines of breaking the plane in half.
  7. wow its bending quite a lot thanks for sharing.
  8. SkieRider, if you need any assistance, you can join us over at http://www.simmoders.com/ We were also about to create an Su-27 model which was called "project firefly" but now that you created one, we stopped ours. But we gathered quite a lot of resources for the flanker. If you need any thing, just send me a PM. btw hows Shanghai? My dad is from Shanghai, he's actually about to go back. I went back during winter.
  9. wow awesome, nice work!
  10. To answer your question Vekkinho since the Russia Black Shark is out and people should know, No, none of the planes you listed have new models.
  11. Dont worry Kuky, I sound 10 times for critical when I was talking about detail, you can ask Yeniceri that lol. Btw, i don't think this question has been answered yet: does this model have damage model. All future models should have damage model. And for the Su-27, it should be pretty easy because we can only follow the original stock model's damage otherwise it won't be triggered properly. The plane seems to break only on the wings and tails. I never seen it break in half.
  12. hey I wondering do you guys have any suggestions on a good digital post stick software. I find myself keep forgetting to do things and I need a big reminder on my desktop. Something that's really simple and not annoying. I would use the one that came with vista on the sidebar, but the sidebar takes way too many ram for its worth. For those that don't know what post stick software I'm talking about, here's a site that reviews some http://www.online-tech-tips.com/free-software-downloads/digital-post-it-notes-software/ I'm looking for one that's compatible with vista. I had some trouble with the ones mentioned in the site like 3M. The Morun was nice, but its annoying how it reminds you its the free version. And for something this simple, I don't think I would pay for it. Any suggestions?
  13. He's busy with real life, we can understand that. He says although he wishes to continue modding, time doesn't permit it. So we might not see him for a while
  14. which one, they all seem pretty normal.
  15. No, you are wrong We always encourage people to mod Lock On, there's nothing wrong with giving helpful criticisms to try and improve the model. For you to suggestion that we are "jealous" I think that was pretty low.
  16. Did you turn off User Account Permission? To turn it off, go to user accounts in the control panel, and toggle it on or off (its the last option) Your installation procedure should have been Lock On 1.00 FC 1.1 1.12b patch
  17. Yea T-bone actually PMed me during May of this year, he was interested to start up BSO again now that he learn Black Shark was a standalone product and will no longer mess up any of the existing missions he created. But since then I haven't heard from him. He wanted to use my main menu mod since BSO also had an awesome menu mod as well as other interfaces.
  18. I'm not sure either it could be either in a mod or on the forum and someone copied it and you replaced yours with it....etc. But whatever, at least its fixed now.
  19. I think you are talking about the frog camera view where you can get really low to the ground. go to server.lua in Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\View open it up with notepad and turn CameraTerrainRestriction = true to false, then you can get really low to the ground, also you can go through the ground
  20. Are you sure the view.lua file was not altered. It's pretty hard to see because i had this problem before. In your view.lua file, go to this section -- Camera view angle limits {view angle min, view angle max}. CameraViewAngleLimits = {} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_27] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_33] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_25] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iSu_39] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29K] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iA_10] = {20.0, 120.0} CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iF_15] = {20.0, 120.0} Look carefully at the MiG-29, especially the 120 value. One time I copied teka teka's values off the forum, however, the MiG-29 value was "12" instead of "120" so that's why it was all zoomed up.
  21. If you need any help learning how to do this, read over the CDDS tutorial by Cosmonaut This tutorial will teach you everything. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=28577&highlight=cdds+tutorial
  22. you can use the cdds studio by ED (its the second post) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=18234 Note: the bmp files has to be in 24 bit before coverting.
  23. lol looks like I got a new goal, make 10,000 post and become a moderator haha
  24. oh cool, very nice GG! Congrats! Don't abuse your power and ban me lol.
  25. I've been getting some PMs on the situation of the sim-mod site. As some of you already know, rockwelder was the one who created the original sim-mod site so it was under his name. However, due to the fact real life has consumed a lot of his time, he no longer could manage the site. Before he was able to transfer the site ownership, it went down (since the domain name has expired). So Yeniceri took a bold step and created a new sim-mod site here: http://www.simmoders.com/ Hope to see some of you boys there.
