The 'import completed' and 'build custom kneeboard completed' popup dialogs have been moved to the taskbar notification by default. If you prefer the popup dialogs, uncheck 'Display Taskbar Notifications' in 'Preferences'.

I just released version 1.6.9.3 that fixes this. (However you won't notice until the next update) I'll take a look.

You can create a kneeboard profile in 'Kneeboard Settings' and change the size to more of a landscape orientation. Switch to that profile when you wan't to use Chuck's guides. The downside is the map and default kneeboard pages will look distorted. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done if your kneeboard images are mixed between portrait and landscape orientations other than possibly rotating the landscapes to portrait or visa versa. It is a limitation of the DCS kneeboard. It would be nice if each kneeboard page could set its own orientation and size.

Could you please look at your windows error logs right after you try running Kneeboard Builder and e-mail them to me. To view the error logs in windows 7: click on the start menu -> control panel -> system and security -> administrative tools -> event viewer-> expand 'windows logs' -> click on application. For windows 8 / 10: right click on the start menu -> computer management -> expand 'event viewer' -> expand 'windows logs' -> click on application To save your all events: right click on application -> save all events as -> enter a name and save as an Event File (.evtx) To save a single event: right click on the event(s) you want to save -> save selected event -> enter a name and save as an Event File (.evtx) E-mail the logs to me at s13solutions@gmail.com

Custom kneeboard positions and colors will no longer cause integrity check violations. It is now also possible to load kneeboard profiles for individual aircraft and the default MiG-21 kneeboard can be customized again. The only aircraft that can't have individual profiles loaded into DCS are the Flaming Cliffs aircraft. The manual has been updated to include these changes. Hopefully the GUI will be intuitive enough to figure out, but if you have any questions feel free to ask. A short explanation on Lite Mode. It restores all modified core DCS files to their originals and prevents Kneeboard Builder from making any further changes to any core DCS files. With Lite Mode selected you will not be able to customize the positions or colors of any aircraft kneeboards, but you can still modify the contents of the kneeboards. Lite Mode is the only form of an uninstall option that I have at the moment. This is such a big update that there is a good chance you will find a bug here or there. You don't need to change the saved games folder when you switch between DCS versions. Just keep the saved games folder pointing to "C:\Users\Dons\Saved Games" and it will find the correct subdirectory.

Within a week or so I will have a version released that will pass IC checks. Just hang tight while I finish my graveshift work week (and Christmas).

There are several modules that have that feature now. However their kneeboard update logic appears to be hardcoded into their module via C++ and isn't accessible to us.

Instead I have added the option to use the default DCS kneeboard for the MiG-21 which will allow for customization just like with every other DCS aircraft. Integrity Check Update: To support custom position and color schemes, Kneeboard Builder modifies three DCS files that will cause integrity check failures. I have not found a workaround.

Have you tried running it as an administrator?

The Mig-21 kneeboard in your picture is displaying correctly. Leatherneck Sims gave the Mig-21 kneeboard a custom kneeboard texture that is different from the default one used in all of the other modules.

Here is my Nevada beacon dynamic page. It has the directory path to the Nevada Beacons and may be of some help in other ways as well. It sounds like you need to constrain the DCS World resolution to your surround screen resolution using the "DCS Resolution Offset" in the modify position window: DCS Resolution Offset The Height Offset and Width Offset controls in the DCS Resolution box will be useful to constrain the kneeboard position to your main screen. The values entered into the Height Offset and Width Offset boxes will be added your DCS resolution. For example, if your DCS resolution is 2500 x 1080 and your main screen resolution is 1920 x 1080, entering -580 in the Height Offset box will constrain the kneeboard position to your 1920 x 1080 screen.

After you modify a kneeboard profile, make sure you select that profile using the task bar icon.

It is a good idea but would require more time and effort than I am willing to put into developing and maintaining it. Perhaps there is someone else out there that would want to take on the challenge. :)

Great idea. I had looked into coding something like that in the past, but I couldn't find the time. I am glad there is already something out there that will work.

It's been over a year since I messed with my dynamic kneeboards for Kneeboard Builder, so I can't quite remember everything I had learned about them. Attached are all the files associated with my dynamic kneeboard pages. I put comments in the mission briefing lua to try to explain how to use some of the functions. Perhaps they can help you if you haven't seen them already. Like you said most of the functions are hard coded into DCS so everything I learned about them came through hours of trial and error. I was unable to figure out a way to dynamically update the kneeboard once in game, although Belsimtek has away to update their dynamic help pages for several of their aircraft. However I believe they have the kneeboard redraw/ update logic hard coded into their aircraft coding. Hopefully you can figure out some new kneeboard ideas or workarounds if you have the patience for it. KneeboardData.zip missionbriefing luas.zip
