  1. I didn't know they are not clickable. Didn't even try that. LOL. Thanks for the info!
  2. With Joe Sim's help, got it working after he says a few of those unused pins need to be set to high by joining the VCC pin to 5 VDC. But i had to swap D1 and D5 in the order in dcs bios for it to work as intended. Don't know why. Now after you push it to one side in the sim it will auto center. const byte efcpEmerTrimPins[5] = {D5, D2, D3, D4, D1}; DcsBios::SwitchMultiPos efcpEmerTrim("EFCP_EMER_TRIM", efcpEmerTrimPins, 5); Those NC pins are left untouched.
  3. Han, I finally got the NAND chip. Following the diagram provided, i've wired them. 1. Did I wire them correctly? 2. Any other pins on the chip need wiring to the arduino?
  4. yes please! i know how to call VA to display kneeboard, which will default to the waypoint maps of about 5 pages. After that will be my custom upload pages. But i don't know what command to make it display a specific page of the kneeboard. i'm working on a profile for VA to sound off various checklists. I got this idea from that youtube by charles darwin. then i found a boeing 777 profile that does this. i managed to modify it for my a10c. when it's more finalized i'd share it. I feel that this is even better than looking at a virtual kneeboard in VR, coz the kneeboard i have i made it big and covers much of the front console. when doing startup or landing steps i have to toggle kneeboard on and off when i need to see front console. using VA to sound off the steps and i say check or done is faster and feels more immersive, like having a smart AI copilot. and i love the chatter feature of viacom that pops up randomly on left or right ear. and the various F keys displays and respawn, reload, center VR, labels, time accelerate etc. that VA can do.
  5. @weegie, for the location of each airfield in the kneeboard, did you tell VA to jump to a page number, or you go by increment +/-? I see you have to do a reset first, ie. ground 0 to know where to start. So that sounds more like an increment approach. ie. how many pages to go forward or backward for each airfield.
  6. I know the TISL panel, like the IFF, are not functional in dcs. Then why have the code there, but incomplete? In the control reference, there is only code for two out of the 4 push buttons, DcsBios::Switch2Pos tislBite("TISL_BITE", PIN); and DcsBios::Switch2Pos tislEnter("TISL_ENTER", PIN).
  7. @cthulhu68, thanks for pointing out this. I never knew there is a difference between mission planner and mission editor. Show that i've never gone into the mission editor before. GTFreeFlyer has been talking about mission editor, while i've been talking about mission planner. duh! silly me. no wonder the disconnect. Initially i went into mission editor and changed loadout and couldn't save. then i read somewhere that i had to run dcs as administrator. that worked. thanks guys.
  8. yes i go back and select it of course. but you are not getting what i'm saying. If default loadout for this mission is A, and I created a custom loadout B. I know i can select B in mission planner before launch. But I want to permanently change this mission's default loadout to B, so that i don't have to go into mission planner and select B each time, which is a hassle. I want to run this mission and it always default to B. period. for each mission i want to decide the type of weapons i'd always carry for that mission, and fix it and default it for good without having to select every time i launch it.
  9. Going into mission editor, change the loadout and save just creates a new loadout combination. but next time i fly it still defaults to the original loadout. I hate to have to go into mission editor to reselect the new custom loadout manually each time.
  10. I know how to create a custom loadout. Before you launch a mission, you select your aircraft on the map then go to loadout page, create a new loadout mix and save to a new name. But I have to select this before I launch every time. Is it possible to change the default loadout? I see my custom loadout name in unitPayloads.lua in the dynamic Saved Games\DCS Warthog\MissionEditor path. But how does each mission know which loadout to default to? I want to change the default loadout for a mission without having to manually change the default to new mix before launch each time.
  11. I just saw a youtube where this guy charles darwin developed a VA profile that reads off the a10c startup checklist. then for each item he says 'check' and it says out the next time. OMG. really impressive. it's like having an instructor or copilot with you and sounding off the list while you check all the switches and levers. this is way cooler than calling up the kneeboard and reading it then checking the switches. i'm not sure if he's done with its development or how he plans to share it or sell it.
  12. I have the paid version of vaicom and yes i have tried the ATC select and crystal palace stuff. very cool. can you share this profile that can jump straight to a specific airfield's VAD via a reset and track the pages? sounds very good too. i tried bailey's profile last night. it does tune the frequency. impressive. but for UHF when i say the range that starts with two something, it'd end up with 20 something time and again it inserts a zero after two! regardless of how fast or slow the say the 5 digits. maybe the problem is my english. VA and vaicom adds some much stuff to the sim experience, especially that random chatter that appears on the left or right ear. I also like the aliases.
  13. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'm still digesting it. I know how to create a custom loadout. Before you launch a mission, you select your aircraft on the map then go to loadout page, create a new loadout mix and save to a new name. But I have to select this before I launch every time. I see my custom loadout name in unitPayloads.lua in the dynamic path mentioned above. But how does each mission know which loadout to default to? I want to change the default loadout for a mission. Then I don't have to go change it before launch each time.
  14. You guys taught me a couple of things. 1. You can also use UHF to contact ATC 2. Use you UHF to contact tanker, which I thought it's VHF AM 3. You can use VHF FM for intra-flight comms, which I thought it's only UHF, so 4. VHF FM is not just for JTAC, can be for comms with your flight buddies too So there is no set rules that you only use a certain radio to contact a certain group.
  15. Thanks guys for your info! @weegie, without VA, pulling kneeboard will already show waypoints for each mission. I just installed VA this week, and Vaicom. I've been changing the choice of words to make certain commands understood more easily. I do use a command to bring up kneeboard by VA, then I manually scroll the pages. But how you are using it seems way more cooler. You said you ask for airfield, VA will show it (like F10 map?) and calling up kneeboard will jump to that airfield's chart? It's that smart? What would be the command to VA to jump to a certain airfield? Normally I just call that airfield's ATC for inbound approach. Not sure what you mean VA will take you there? I looked at Bailey thread to see what you were talking about. So you can say the numbers and it tunes the frequency for you. Cool! I was thinking, coalition side only has 9 airbases. I can put them on presets then just use presets on the VHF AM to quickly tune the frequencies. But Bailey's profile is even quicker. I put all 9 georgian airbases' ATC frequency, TACAN, ILS, runway etc. into kneeboard builder. Then when i pull up kneeboard i see all at once in one page. don't have to scroll through the many pages of charts to find the frequencies. and I ignore the L/L coordinates etc. the default map is displayed 90 degress sideways and show georgian and russian airbases. given that i focus on locating the blue side airbases to land, i cut off the left part of the map, make it enlarged max to the border of the pdf, and import into kneeboard builder. this way is does not appear squished up and is easier to read on the kneeboard. @klem, thanks for suggestion of JSGME. i'd look into it. @rudel, i'd try removing the unwanted charts from terrain path. i know the vad are at the end. i deliberately scrolled backwards to check how many are there. eventually when i want to scroll through them, i still don't want to see unrelated ones there to keep it short. Appreciate everyone's input!
  16. Hollywood, TX6 does not work at all. It does not matter whether I assign it to a hotas button or push button connected to PC by Leo's BU0836 board. For TX1 to 4, you hold the mic switch, finish saying command then release. For other throttle switches or push buttons on leo board, you press and vaicom immediately releases them. I setup TX6 press and release both to the same switch. But they refuse to hold while i talk. I daisy chain my profile to main vaicom for dcs world profile. then i press TX4, say those custom commands and they work. on TX4. TX6 is useless to me.
  17. Ramsay, thanks for your input! I always thought UHF is just for comms with wingmen only. Didn't know one would also use UHF to contact ATC. Thought we always use VHF AM to contact tower only. LOL. Also thanks for the info about why the frequency for russian radio is included. Now all these make sense. Appreciate it!
  18. Emmy, thanks for the info. I know 261 is in the UHF range. But when I start the mission, my plane's already tuned to 251 by itself and i can talk to my wingman on 251. If I use 261 he may not be monitoring that frequency as he's using 251 to respond to me. I guess it's an alternate UHF for emergency? As for 4.3 being for russian radios, the mission is for a10c which has no equipment to monitor that range of frequency. So isn't it irrelevant to list the red side's frequency that we can't monitor?
  19. The kneeboard builder always generate 50+ pages of VAD charts. 2-3 pages per aerodome. One third are georgian, two-third russian aerodomes. I removed the russian ones as I fly only coalition. But the russian ones still get generated again. So many unnecessary pages to scroll through. Is there a way to remove some of these charts?
  20. from the above mission briefing, I know 132 is the VHF AM for ATC, 251 is UHF AM, 40.6 is the FM. Any idea what is the 261 and 4.3 MHz for? I am trying understanding details in briefings. There is always more frequencies than I can figure out. How can we reach out to ED or developers if no one can answer our questions?
  21. nobody knows what are these frequencies?

    F-15E?

Imagine building a long SFX-100 motion platform that can sit both pilot and RIO for the F-15E. Both guys rolling and pitching together. Assuming it can support the weight of two persons. then flying in VR and using vaicom's RIO comms. that would be super cool.
  23. Guys, from the above mission briefing, I know 132 is the AM ATC frequency, 251 is UHF, 40.6 is the FM. Any idea what is the 261 and 4.3 MHz?
