  2. No i don't experience this My controls indicator returns to zero when I don't enter any inputs
  3. Hello gents, I've decided to make this thread as I needed help finding sufficient information and reviews on this product. I have been playing DCS for many years and have been looking at RealSimulator's FSSB for a while, but the high price tag always put me off. Winwing's price tag definitely attracted me. The Grim Reapers MFSSB video also gave me sufficient input to purchase. The hardware quality is excellent. The metal stick feels good, much better than Virpil SCG and regular MCG. The buttons have a pretty soft feel when pressed. However, they give a definite click when activated, so they are quite easy and predictable. The 2-stage trigger has a lot of travel for the 1st stage, which feels very different to the VKB Gunfighter. The grip is matte and very nice to hold, hefty and gives an impression that it could be used in a real aircraft, unlike the Gunfighter's plastic-injected grips, which feel like toys. The optional add-on hats look very ugly and are of inferior quality - the casing is plastic moulded and does not feel as premium as the stick itself. There is a rubberised plug which covers the hole for the extension. I left the joystick in the stock format as it looks better. An adjustable palm rest requires a change of screw thread - an unusual choice for Winwing but I can see how they went out of their way to make the stick as customisable as possible. The base is good but I didn't really try the gimbal as this is the MFSSB version, so I can't comment on the quality and smoothness compared to my VKB Gunfighter. Dislike the circular connector at the stick base. The pins are fragile and seem like they would be damaged with multiple reconnections, as I was planning on removing the side stick when not in use. I would have preferred thick-pronged connectors or something sturdy like VKB's version. I printed a 3D printed mounting plate which I use to mount on to my aluminum profile sim rig. The holes are the same as Thrustmaster Warthog base so that may be convenient for certain people who already have that mount. Winwing's SimApp software is straightforward yet also confusing to use. The descriptions could be more explicit and it wasn't obvious what each mode actually did. The response does update in real time after changing the setting, so it was easy to adjust the setting and then alt-tab back into the game to see the effect. Overall usage is a mixed response for me. The force-sensing mechanism is very cool; however, flying requires a lot of muscle memory retraining. I struggled with formation flying, and aerial refuelling involves a lot of effort to prevent PIOs. I can imagine how with practice how one oculd be highly proficient with it. Personally, I need a lot more hours to give a good review on usage. The overall packaging, shipping speed, build quality and experience is high. I suggest improvements in the DIN pin design for more durability, cleaning up and optimising the SimApp software for user-friendliness. Great job, Winwing
  4. Check out Tacca NVG mod or 3dmigoto. You can resize it to whatever you want.
  5. Oops! I thought that was how it was meant to be used, as a radio menu trigger. So do you mean to say if I use it with the Radio Menu module which auto creates radio submenus, this error will not pop up? I stuck to my old way of using LUA as it allows for more than 4 options
  6. it's the radiotrigger module. I load the module and typed "radio?" value as 21, nothing else in that trigger zone property. Radio flag 21 was linked to a radio menu (done using LUA) and was used to bang a cloner zone. I think in the miz i have changed it to using ME triggers (flag increase value) to avoid this error, but this was the map. NTTR Playground DML v2.miz
  7. I'm getting +++Zone: warning - getFlag has '<none>' flag name in zone <radio trigger flag 21> +++Zone: warning - setFlag has '<none>' flag name in zone <radio trigger flag 21>
  8. Ok, sent you a PM. Thank you!
  9. I want to create a unit/group counter to count troops that I have dropped in a LZ. I tried using unitZone, to lookFor SEALTEAM* and bangs on SealTeamInZone flag. Then i paired this with a messenger? to SealTeamInZone and a <v> flag to display the value but it stops counting after the first group. Is there a way for unitZone to keep increasing the flag value when another group arrives in zone? Or is there another way to get this to work?
  10. Hi @cfrag, my miz is showing up verbose reports for Clone Zone (the +++ msg) even though i did not specify for it. Is there a way to remove it? +++clnZ enter spawnWithCloner for <KB1> Syria Playground v2.miz
  11. Imo those beginner videos are sufficient. Keep focusing on what you do best - your documentation and demo missions are already top notch. The videos are good enough to get someone a head start into how DML is meant to be used. I found it much easier to understand than MOOSE (which is also fantastic btw). Video tutorials also not a substitute for your quick reference PDF documentation.
  12. MOOSE does this with the Recovery Tanker script, exactly how Sinclair_76 mentions. The tanker returns to base, shutsdown. A new tanker will spawn (on ramp, runway, on air start depending on set parameters). You can always use MOOSE instead of reinventing the wheel. I literally saved the script and copy/paste to my various missions, keeping the group/unit names the same. I use DML when I need other functions.
  13. Hi @cfrag, I am trying to create the following: Using the unitZone module, when a player is in zone, announce a message "Player XX is in the zone" Is the a way to call on callsign name to announce via the messenger module? So far I have made a VFR navigation mission - it will announce when overflying a waypoint zone (trigger zone on waypoint) and announce a generic message "Fighter is over the waypoint zone" or "Bombs dropped on target zone" but i would like to link it to the player if possible
  14. I'm having the same error message as well with getFlag and setFlag Occurs when the each Unit Zone is triggered BVR Trainer Timeline DML.miz
  15. Exact same problem for me too. Did you forward port 8088?
  16. Oh I'm no newbie to tweaking, in fact i am quite comfortable with it. But I am quite realistic with my expectations from my hardware. I got quite decent results from the 3080 but it's a whole nother level with the 24gb of VRAM from the 3090ti. I can have great graphics AND great FPS now too.
  17. Sometimes the monitor can interfere with tracking. You could also try switching that off
  18. Yes the 24gb VRAM is the key. Perhaps I could have saved some moolah by going for the 3090 instead of ti but end of the day I'm still extremely happy and DCS has never looked bette
  19. Wish i had your luck I suspect many of my initial negative impressions were due to having an underpowered system (if you could call 3080 underpowered) so I'm looking forward to trying it again with the 3090ti
  20. I've seen all the hype by Steve Walton and the army of Youtube influencers. It's quite hard to get an objective opinion on an item unless I've tried it myself - at least that's the conclusion I've come to. The set up process, the quality of the hardware, the efficiency and power of software really shows only when you've had spent some time with it. As I am an avid VR enthusiast, I've decided that I would try out all of these headsets myself to give them the best chance. And for now I've found that the Pimax has many qualities that are really troublesome. The set up of the base stations is particularly tedious, albiet a one time process. The PiTool software and manual tinkering with firmware files. The 8KX seals you off from the rest of the world - a good feature for most. But the sound and light blocking is so good but i can't hear my wife screaming at me so that's a negative for me. Haha The lack of center clarity on the 8KX pushed me back towards the G2. I love my G2 now especially with the OpenXR updates If i had to summarise - the G2 would be the headset to recommend for most , but the Pimax for a select few who can appreciate such features
  21. The GPU does not detect the headset It does not detect the headset. I'm sure it will be an awesome experience but the tinkering aspect is quite frustrating. G2 also currently runs extremely well and I'm pleased
  22. I thought of this heavily and went for this compromise. Aluminum profile can be easily re-arranged, even broken down and re-used for other applications. I also play Assetto Corsa Competizione often in VR and it feels great with the pedals and Simagic wheel
  23. Yes that could be quite useful, as long as designers are given the options. This is a feature of both MIST and MOOSE. We can choose between RND clonezones, randomizedLoc, or RND randomizedLoc for truly randomised gameplay!
  24. BTW my 3090ti does not seem to work with the Pimax 8KX and Pimax have acknowledged this as an issue FWIW
