  1. I'm not familiar with how the actual Harrier works, just the way it's modelled in DCS. It is one of the most unique planes, I definitely think it's worth it especially since the recent update to TPOD.
  2. You need to practice, it comes with time. I start by doing a wide pattern and transition into a hover above the ship's deck. You can create a scenario in the mission editor with some headwind, this will help. I start to make the correction and stop my roll correction before i even see the plane moving. It is very similar to Air to Air Refueling, if you are familiar with that. It is also some what similar to hovering in a helicopter, the way you cancel your corrections before they even start to happen. Make sure you are light on weight and have water switched on, this will help with the power. Once you a proficient with straight in landings, proceed to doing the hover over the port and sideways slide on to the ship. This is will need a lot of pitch, roll and yaw corrections
  3. The links are broken since the ED forum update. How do I know where I am on the list at the moment?
  4. Where is the video brightness knob? Thank you
  5. this was the old way of getting the TGP to slew to waypoint, before we had waypoint slave
  6. Ok that's it, thanks for the clear instructions. Not used to the long and short!
  7. This process doesn't work. Can you try?
  8. I assume it's a typo and he meant SSS Depress (which is actually SSS Down in controls config) It doesn't work for me
  9. I found the sensitivity of the TDC slew to be very sensitive. It seems to be matched to the ground. I.e when i slew on the HUD, zoomed out, it is very manageable. But full narrow view with zoom, it is almost uncontrollable. Is this intentional? I've been adjusting my controller settings constantly to find a sweet spot.
  10. Let me try that again tonight during a proper night mission. I tried during sunset and it didn't bring up anything on the HUD using the exact steps. Thanks for the reply
  11. Am i meant to use the NAV mode on the TPOD (hold down SWFV OSB) instead of this?
  12. I can't seem to get this working after the latest update. 1. HUD set to night mode (toggle down) 2. SSS right to switch on DMT 3. SSS depress - nothing happens If i press it again, it brings up the TPOD
  13. You should have done your homework on the Quest 2 before buying. It's not for everyone, but if you can live with Facebooks Terms of Service, it's a fantastic device. Definitely the cheapest way to get into VR. Wireless gaming (non PC) is also fantastic. I often lock my office door and chill out with VR golf, fishing or table tennis during my lunch break. I have a Reverb G2 on the way which i'm sure will replace my DCS needs, but Quest 2 is a fantastic piece of hardware. I have constant 36 fps while flying in Syria too. R5 3600, Nvidia 2070 super 32 gb ram, SSD
  14. I've done a fair bit of night tanking on the Hornet (my hobby, lately). My suggestion is to use A-A TACAN and slow your approach once you reach 5nm. You should be able to sight the tanker within 2nm easily depending on cloud cover. Try to maintain closure rate <20 knots when forming up, sometimes I use NVG to help if it's really dark. Make sure you turn off the NVG when opening the probe, about the same time you call for pre-contact. The probe lighting is actually very good, you should be able to maintain formation easily without NVG just using the probe light alone. If you have difficulty with this, then I suggest you practice some day (or dawn/dusk as an interim step) to gain familiarity
  15. Need to open the STAT page and see all those HMCS settings asap!
  16. Is this how it is on the actual plane? Found it quite annoying the increase the brightness of every page individually...
  17. Yep this is the problem, the SP mode is inconsistent and works only a quarter of the time for me. I don't even bother and prefer to set a steerpoint using lat/long
  18. Looking forward to this as well
  19. Doesnt work for me 80% of the time It's erratic
  20. At least from my video, you can see the SP button is unreliable? It doesn't even appear after a while, despite pressing CZ and changing SOI. Also the ability to designate a target after using SP mode does not work as many people have pointed out. I will post a track to clarify later
  21. IIRC UFC App currently doesn't perform screen export. It can show the buttons and UFC but not the screen. You may want to consider a screen sharing app such a Space Desk, Duet. You can then set up your ipad as a second monitor and then use LUA Monitor Setup export You can also explore Helios, which is similar to what you are seeing in that link.
  22. Yes, this works Sometimes It's buggy af, sometimes it doesnt even work. Sometimes it starts working again randomly. I've posted a trk file in the bug repor section.
  23. Here is my trk file of the issue. SP mode doesn't put the HUD indicator in the center of the HUD. After a while, the SP button doesn't even show on the MFD. I tried changing waypoints, aircraft orientation but no difference It makes TOO bombing very unreliable. viper tgp sp.trk
  24. Yes it's really buggy. I wrote down the exact steps to teach myself how to designate targets using the hud in SP mode. It works about 50% of the time for me. Very frustrating
  25. Any idea how i can save my current target as a stpt or markpoint? To be able to access it later?
