Voodooimaxx say the flicker has been fixed and thermals have been improved.
-
I got the graying too on the Index. I think you covering up IR sensors where you grab it by the housing so grab it by the headphone or head strap to adjust the HMD on you head and you shouldn't get any more graying out.

I have been using my Reverb from ShopBLT in my regular 3.1 Gen 2 USB port and have not had one flicker or dimmig.

FYI, for those interested, I was successful in getting a VIVE controller and two base-stations to function with the Reverb. I had the Vive parts when I had the Pimax 5K+ and sold the Pimax. Now trying to decide if I want to buy another Vive controller or wait for the knuckles to become available. I have a Mamut VR stick for FPS but they do not have adapters for a WMR controller, only Rift, Vive and Valve controllers. Any word on when the Knuckles may be available?

I sent back my Index today since I'll never use it again. I also bought some steam USB dongles, I'm going to flash them as HTC vive tracker watchmen to use my vive controllers and basestations for the Reverb So I can play FPS too. If everything work well, I'm going to buy Steam Knuckles when their available.

I used the Index first and found it a really good HMD for DCS and then I started to use the Reverb and found it even better. I went back to the Index and I can def see the SDE and black lines through the pixels which I can't stand. The Reverb ruined me for any other HMD that's out there since I am now use to a clearer pic with no SDE.
-
I don't have that issue, but I hear you need to be in a well lit room.

Switch back to Steam WMR stable version just now and Steam SS still needs to be 188% to get close to 2160x2160. Steam WMR Beta only needs 76% SS to get close to the Reverbs native resolution.
-
I have both, got the Index first and found it great for DCS then got the Reverb and I boxed up the Index as there is no way I can ever go back to lower resolution and better clarity and almost zero SDE from the Reverb. I will aslo buy some Steam USB dongles to get the Knuckles working with the Reverb since I already have the basestations.

Don't forget to install SteamVR Window Mix Reality beta too.

Stutter/judder when looking out the side and double vision - any fixes?

I found the same thing and it off for me. -
On me second Reverb and its been good except for the flashlight feature where only the left camera works but I think that's a WMR issues as its been reported on other HMDs too. No flickering or screen dimming on the Reverb either.
-
You will need the latest July 26th 1903 build if you don't want to download individual WMR patches and you will need to install SteamVR WMR beta too.

I hope ED does soon, I have been using my Reverb for several days and there is absolutely no way I would ever go back to a HMD with less resolution or worse SDE. I tried out my Index this morning in DCS and it was horrendous after getting use to the Reverb. If anyone can afford a reverb, get one, trust me you don't know what your missing out on.

Didn't Wags say ED was going to make the Reverb native to DCS?

Found video online of what I'm seeing. https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21ACf6OjdNAyX1bog&cid=815B6A0E65161823&id=815B6A0E65161823%215895&parId=815B6A0E65161823%215894&o=OneUp Seems it an issue for a while on WMR. Bummer it's like this on the Reverb but I haven't used my SO+ since I updated to windows 1903.

I have a SO+ and when using the flashlight, the controller draws a circle and when you move the controller around, the circle fills in with your room image in black and white. The Reverb flashlight is different, it looks like a small black and white square TV that is stationary with reversed image of your room. As you move your head the reversed image moves but only inside the TV square and the controller flashlight circle need to be pointed at the TV image to see the image. It's really disorienting and nothing like how the SO+ does the flashlight. Anyone else have the same issue?

The cable looks the same but may not be as stiff on the double cable but not sure. Yep only a connector clip to keep it for disconnecting so doing the cable Mod is no longer necessary. It felt moderate after 10 minutes being on but I use a fan for it to make sure it doesn't overheat even once. My reasoning is if it overheats once, it may get damaged at that point so I do not want to risk it.

Ok after much testing, I think I found the best settings for me to stop the jittering when looking out the sides to the cockpit. With WMR reprojection on, I found with my graphics settings, DCS is very smooth if I can maintain close to 13 - 20ms of GPU frametime and keep CPU frame time at or below 23ms. I tried 100% Steam SS and 1.0 DCS PD and I would constantly hit 20ms or higher on GPU frametime and the CPU frametime will go nuts if I had more planes and vehicles to 50 - 250ms. This was completely unplayable even with very low graphics settings. Once I moved SteamVR SS to 20% fixed into manual mode and DCS set to 2.0 - 2.5 PD, the graphics look just as good as 100% SS and 1.0 DCS PD but I can now maintain 13 - 18ms on GPU frametime and 20 - 23ms CPU frametime with a lot more vehicles on the map. The Reverb run almost as smooth as my Index now. Conclusion is even with low GPU frametime, if the CPU frametime gets too high, it too will cause jittery scenes as well so the trick is to keep both of them down. fpsVR is a essential tool to test your system. FYI - fpsVR does not work with a rift s I believe.

I've had all three and the Rift S was given to my son. The Index and Reverb are the top two in my opinion but the Index come out first for DCS on overall smoother performance. The Reverb is by far the best in screen resolution, clarity and SDE but is not as smooth as the index. It take quite a bit more effort to fine tune the Reverb to run well in DCS but I think I got it set up almost as good as the Index. The Index FOV is slightly better but not by much and the resolution, clarity is very good with DCS but there is SDE that I can see in DCS. I use the Reverb for DCS and watching movies and the Index for FPS shooters. If your on a budget, get the Rift S since it a good HMD for DCS If you only plan to play sit down sims only, get the Reverb if clarity and no SDE is important to you but you need a top of the line PC to get the best out of the Reverb. If you want to play many different game genres like sim and FPS, get the Index for better overall performer.

I bought mine form ShopBLT last week and got the new cable clip so Im sure these are the second batch and this one has zero issues so far. No flickering and no screen dimming after many hours of use. I'm also using the USB port from my motherboard.

HP support did not have the Reverb as part of their consumer division. It took the customer service rep a few minutes to figure out the Reverb is part of their commercial division before he found their phone number to transferred me to their customer support.

Looking inside my HMD, it says 1 year warranty too. Oh well.
