  1. Don't know, I bought one so I will let you know. I also had a reverb previously I sent back the same day I got it. So I will speak from experience on getting a bad one. Kinda curious which one I would like better, the Index or my second Reverb. I plan on keeping both if the Reverb is good to go and sell my SO+.
  2. One left in stock. https://www.shopblt.com/item/hewlett-packard-7dh40ut-aba-reverb-virtual-reality/hp_7dh40utabah.html
  3. Its just a theory, my issue was I had to keep the cable complexity straight for the displays to power up but I do remember the first time I turned the HMD on, it powered up normally. I never put it on my head but I shut it down after about 30 seconds and did the mod right away thinking I was just going to be proactive but thinking about it now, it may have been my downfall where I caused more problem unintentionally. So I suggest you guys don't mess with the cable unless you have issues right off the bat with the quick connector plug being loose and definitely don't put any bends in the cable what so ever.
  4. I suggest guys getting new Reverbs don't mess with the cable by putting bends or loops in it to zip tie it to the head strap. Its a stiff cable and may not like being bent in sharp curves. The more I think about it after I RMA mine back, bending the cable may have damage it more and made it worse. Just let it hand down right off the bat.
  5. I really hope you get a version two since it looks like BB must have just got these from HP.
  6. Consumerl Reverb came in stock at Best Buy online today from a email notification and when I clicked on the link I put it in the cart for turds and giggles, it was already sold out. Sure its version one and expect to see more complaints on reddit soon. Some of them Best Buy poor folks are in for a surprise. edit: Just saw Secoda post above say the same thing and he got one from Best Buy, so how did you already leave a review for the reverb with 4 stars that was practically glowing after you sent your first one back? Don't you think your review should reflect you sent it back too so other people looking to buy know?
  7. Just installed mine today, what a night and day difference. Worth every penny.
  8. Just bought the Rift S from Best Buy today and after work will pick it up. Had Rift CV1, Pimax 5K+, sold both and currently using SO+ for DCS VR, hope the Rift S is a bump up. Still have 15 days to return it if its not.
  9. Only fix is to disable any modules that have keys.
  10. Nope its not the Index, its DCS, their VR is really bad with ghosting and judder if the FPS goes too low, It does this on every HMD I ever owned, Reverb, Pimax 5K+, SO+, Rift CV1. ED really need to get DCS VR optimized or say fudge it and switch engines to something else, their EDGE isn't cutting it IMO. This reminds me when LOMAC first came out and the best hardware of the day couldn't run it. Flat screen playing is great now since hardware caught up but VR is not. Yes my DCS account has been here since pretty much day one all these years ago and when UBiSoft forums was the place to hangout.
  11. Trust me, mine was really negative so props to them for allowing it. It listed a whole host of problems with their gear.
  12. No, I just submitted my review from a email of them asking me to write a review and it took three days for them to approve it. I think I'm the six or seventh review. I'm the only one giving it a 1 star LOL.
  13. I'm surprised HP allowed my less than glowing review on their web site to post. Mine is really negative so hopefully they do something about it.
  14. DCS engine is not good for VR. They need to priorities the sim to run better to utilize the CPU and GPU more efficiently. Yes it looks pretty for a old engine but its not earth shattering in visual fidelity anymore. It's time for DCS to take some of that module money and port the sim to a engine that runs well with existing hardware to take the benefits of the newer hardware features. Until then, VR will be seriously lacking for DCS. BTW - Cockpits look good but the terrain really isn't impressive all that much anymore.
  15. Vipril should do a software update when you can manually disable this sync feature when you want to run the dual throttles separate. I preordered their CM stick and base and was thinking about adding their new throttle but will likely hold off.
  16. My biggest issue with HP for example is I think they did a cheap design that's not worth almost $700 after taxes. The two pointed screws that holds the headphone base to the housing literally looked like it barely has one thread of insertion to connect the base into the housing. That just reeks of being cheap. I would have lived with zip tying the cable to the head strap to keep the bad portion of my cable complexity straight but that put the cable to the other side of the HMD with the big connector box now sitting where the headphone use to be, which prevent me from using my over the ear headphone since it now had to go over the connector box too. So no functioning HP headphones and no personal headphones and I didn't want use speakers with the HMD. Also with the single cable zip tied strapped straight, that left the double cable hang down at a angle and not the single cable which made it even less comfortable because the double cable is meant to hang straight down vertically and not bend 90 degrees downward. I really hope those with good unit the best of luck with their HMDs.
  17. Sorry to hear you had problems too. I never bothered calling HP, I just sent it back to B&H but I'm done giving HP another chance. I'll wait for Acer to give them a shot and in the mean time, I'm going to wait for my Index preorder.
  18. Combined though uhgg thought it was each screen :(
  19. Sorry, I boxed it up and its going back to B&H but after zip tying the cable it did run around at 43 to 45 FPS with Motion Reprojection on. Without MR, I would get ghosting when banking. Its a great HMD if it worked but I'm probably going back to flat screen.
  20. Just received my Reverb today. Well 10 seconds after putting on the HMD I got every issue ever brought up. Loss of signal, loss of brightness, lines down the screen, screen sparkles for a minute or two... etc. I know the cause of most of the issues, it's the dang cable from the HMD itself. The round cable about an inch from the little box connector is bad. I can wiggle the cable in that area and HMD will lose power and screens shut down or the screens will get snow with lines down the sides unless the cable is completely straight with zero bend anywhere near that connector area. To prevent this I had to wire tie the darn cable to the strap to keep the cable from moving or bending. What a hassle and it's not like I can just disconnect the cable at the HMD to replace it, the cable that's bad is the one attached to the HMD permanently. HP should have made the cable completely replaceable. Also one of the headphones was broken when I recieved it, now I have to remove the headphone and use my own over the ear headphones. Also about 10 minutes of use, the brightness drops in the screens making everything darker. Even though all of these issues, the screen are a dream as long as they stay powered up. Best resolution I ever seen and seriously I don't see any SDE. Well not sure if I want to return it to B&H or try to see if HP will replace it. I don't want to miss the window for B&H to take it back if HP takes too long in shipping me a replacement.
  21. Sure will.
  22. Yes website never changed but I did preorder it on the 14th of this months and got notification from B&H and Fedex of my shipment today. B&H web account shows it shipped and on its way and they did charge my CC today too.
  23. My B&H Reverb order shipped today. Should arrive Tuesday. Finally after 4 orders, one finally shipped. The other three websites said they were in stock but they all were really out of them.
  24. I called ShopBLT and I didn't make the cut in the ones they received so I canceled and went with Neobits. Thanks for the update. I also found one at Provatage that has 34 in stock but they wanted to charge me $690 for shipping and taxes Neobits did not charge me taxes and paid $623. https://www.provantage.com/hp-7dh40ut-aba~7HPP9HK7.htm
  25. Same here. I don't think it matters if the warehouse is close to you, they said the items will be shipped in the order they received purchases as stock comes in. "Orders are filled in the sequence received regardless of warehouse location."
