Just curious, has the bug been fixed in v1.11 that caused memory leaks if the seasons changed in missions? All our maps on the VVS504 server are using the same season right now, but it would be nice to use the other 3 seasons occasionally :)
-
After installing the v1.11 patch, first thing I tried was mapping a joystick button (button 22) on my X45 to enable me to make hands on screenshots.... but it didnt work again. I`ll have a longer play with it tonight to see if I can remap a keyboard key to something other than "SysReq" and see what happens. Did the bug get adddessed in the v1.11 patch list?

FC v1.11 patch and "Lockon Gold" ?
zorlac replied to zorlac's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
yes, I know.... one for CD version, one for web download version... but the question was will it work with the "Lockon Gold" version, which is not a "normal" CD install AFAIK -
Does the v1.11 patch work on "Lockon Gold" installs? (Not a problem for me, but I know a couple of people who will ask.... )
-
do we have to remove the LOD and stutter patches before install?
-
so it will be today then?

VVS504 Dedicated Server New Pilots Day.
zorlac replied to 504MrWolf's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Just have to wait for Hyperlobby to come back up again... <sigh> -
Brings to mind the Simpsons episode with Sideshow Bob banning TV, and escape the the Kitty Hawk. The F14 pilots start attack run: "Have visual on target... passed target... target airspeed insufficient... getting out and continuing pursuit on foot"
-
Gazehound... you *DONT* have a TIR? :icon_excl :icon_excl :icon_excl crikey!!
-
Yes, works fine under XP (VVS504 server uses procaff and running on XP Pro) Follow Evil-Scotsman's explaination and it will work just fine...
-
oh, something else to add to this... applications inherit their processor "affinity" from the parent process. So if you are running Lokon from Hyperlobby, make Hyperlobby run on one processor... when HL fires up Lockon, it too will only run on one processor...
-
It might be the fact that Lomac doesnt like being run on dual-core or multiple CPU machine. The program (and all its associated data in any cache area) will get swapped back and forward between the two cpus/cores (whichever one is available when it needs to be run), and this can cause stuttering. There is an app out their called "procaff" that allows you start Lomac, and make it stay running ONLY on one of the cpus/cores. http://www.stefan-kuhr.de/procaff/main.php3 Of course, it may not be this that is causing the problem... so its only a suggestion

My wife and I went to NY in December 2004, and while we were there we visited the Intrepid.... damn it was cold. Well worth the visit if you are ever nearby.

as for using Waypoints, not all aircraft in a mission use the same waypoints (especially bomber and fighter co-op missions), so that wont work... The server option of forcing the export.lua prevents clients from using their own export code for whatever reason. In a closed server, or flying with your squadron in your own missions, then thats no problem, but on a public server, it would allow clients who can "code" to export all the important data about objects in game to their own program, including position, speed, altitude for all objects... the possibilities for abuse is huge. I would like ED to look at a solution in v1.2 where the server admin can determine what data can be exported by the client. Currently its all or nothing, but a finer grain export option would allow data that cant really be used to cheat in any way, just like this very helpful bullseye application, along with your own missile loadouts, gear/flaps position, your own speed/altitude, damage reports, etc.... but i dont want the client to be able to know the full details of every other client in game, their position/altitude/speed/heading, aircraft type, inbound missiles (with position etc)... thats just too tempting (and too easy!) to be used for cheating...

very light.... TIR + baseball cap + VE (fits onto cap) weigh almost nothing....
-
If you can afford the VE, get it!! even without the zoom function, its great. With the old "follow the dot" system, if you lean left or right in your chair, TIR will think you have turned your head and move your view. With VE, it tracks your head movements, so leaning left or right will not make the TIR think you turned your head.. it knows you have only moved left or right. No more having to keep very very still in your chair :) ...and future Lockon products (1.2) will support the 6DOF option with VE, so you can lean left or right and look round things in the cockpit....

A Russian flight engineer was overheard saying "oh, so thats what this is for...." whilst looking at a spare bolt in his hand that was left over from the last refit :icon_redf Are there really that few airframes left? Such a shame... -
ah well, best i stop pleading for a place on the 1.2 test team then :) they already have a video guy....
-
Lets hope its a LOT faster than the current AVI creation.... i tried it once... just the once... not sure if it has finished yet :)

how about the audio? playing it 4 times faster will make us all sound like we have helium instead of oxygen :) do you pitch shift the audio down to normal levels, or just play every 4th frame? -

ah, i gotcha... i`ll give that a try later. Thank you!! (I currently use the s-video out from my ATI x800, and feed it into a PVR on a seperate machine... works great, but i get a lot of interlace artifacts, even if i try to deinterlace the stream... which has the downside of blurring things a little, and you cant recover that sharpness with shapen filters). -

what screen resolution do you run Lomac at when grabbing with FRAPS to get 30fps? And what is the spec of your machine (CPU, HDD) to be able to grab at that rate? -
