  1. And oh, one of the main issues why I really want to get this working is because it is obvious that currently the COOLIE HAT functions are not /HELD so it is pretty much impossible to change SOI with coolie hat left LONG. Instead it acts like multiple coolie hat left SHORTs and changes MFD content :helpsmilie:
  2. I'm in the script editor.
  3. Why oh why is the TARGET script editor so crappy? No separate windows for macro and joystick files. No BLOCK INSERT REM-function. Non-standard windows layout compared to pretty much anything. And how on earth do I make a HOLD function? It was easy in foxy, I just had to put /H in front of the desired key.
  4. Yeah. Track-Ir, Teamspeak, snapviews... Plus of course I need a better profile for other sims.
  5. I tried target, but there was no DCS warthog profile, only for the Black Shark. I know that I can map functions in the game, but that is not sufficient to me; I like to use complex scripts to do a lot of stuff and never use default profiles. Currently I'm cleaning the DCS: BS profile of EVERYTHING and then editing it to fit my needs. It just takes time. For example I will make toggles so that I can have fullscreen snapviews of MFDs and the CDU; currently DCS A10 does not have built-in key toggling. Oh Cougar & Foxy, I already miss thy... :(
  6. Hi. Where could I find the default profile for the TM Hotas Warthog? I would like to make some alterations in the TARGET software.
  7. Silly me: it seems that the solution is to select mfd resolution "512 every frame" or "1024 every frame" in the options. :pilotfly:
  8. Hi. When I use either the TGP or mavericks, the picture of the MFD flickers about once per second. Its pretty nauseating :( I'm using GTX295 for graphics.
  9. I would really like to see a C/D Hornet, but because they start to be a bit "legacy", at least on the business wise, super hornet in E/F would be just fine :) I mean that some military might be interested in buying such a desktop simulator. Then again, flight manuals for C/D are available and older tech is easier than top secret new stuff. Multiseater, multirole, multifun :) (But of course single seaters would be nice obvious choice too) /but then again, don't get yout hopes up just because of this thread.
  10. Seconded. I believe that his could even be implemented in a pretty simple way. Just add an algorithm to the error probality calculations so that the chance of failure in certain instruments is greater IF the buttons of the instrument haven't been used during the first 10 minutes of the mission. So basically you just log every button press (just like now?) and use their timestamps to do the calculations. Example: lets say that that during flight a certain component has X% failure propability per minute. If the said component was tested in the beginning of the mission, the error probality might be something like 0,1X% per minute. You could choose the X factor in the mission editor.
  11. EXCELLENT! Now tell me: is there a way to put a snapview in to a dedicated display (or change the said snapview to another one in the dedicated display because you don't need to look at CDU all the time)
  12. Yikes. I have a GTX295 and i7 920; do u think it would be powerful enough? Too bad it is nearly impossible to find another GTX295 for a quad-sli (then again, it would require a killer PSU)
  13. DirectX buttons work just fine and I don't see any need for a PULSE statement in a good DCS:A-10C profile just put in your TMJ: BTN H1U /I /H trim_up /O /H view_up BTN H1L /I /H trim_left /O /H view_left BTN H1R /I /H trim_right /O /H view_right BTN H1D /I /H trim_down /O /H view_down Then put in your TMS file: trim_up=dx1 trim_left=dx2 trim_right=dx3 trim_down=dx4 view_up=dx5 view_left=dx6 view_right=dx7 view_down=dx8 (Of course you could use any other dx buttons in the range from DX1 to DX28 ) Then go to the control setup in the game and bind those keys accordingly. It is wise to always use the /H statement so that the keypress really go through to the sim; without the /H some button presses might be just a millisecond long and the game will not recognize them. With this setup it is very easy to trim either by clicking or by holding the trimmer in the desired position. btw: I suggest that you get a Track-IR; no-one uses pov hats for view control these days :D also: try to use the dx keys whenever possible so that you avoid any conflicts. (having key presses like ctrl, alt and del binded in to different buttons and then used accidentally simultaneously comes to mind... also you cannot write in to the chat if you are using keyboard functions at the same time
  14. What kind of hardware are you using? What graphics card?
  15. Try starting the game in the air (by using the mission editor) then land on a airfield but do not shut down anything. Toggle the outside intercom (because ground crew cannot hear you when the propellers are turning) , ask for the goggles, wait until they are installed and then put on the goggles. Should work. The NVG function is not just a graphics controller function so you should see something even if your drivers are obsolete. If and when you get the NVG to work, be sure to know how to dim the flood lights, instrument lights and change the nvg intensity. AND be sure to remember how to turn them back on while in the dark and NVG off :) (hint: the flood light switch is in the left back panel)
  16. Ok so complete reinstall solved this issue; now the game starts OK. Currently I have only the original issue with the settings unsolved; It would be a bummer to config everything again.
  17. Yeah, I'll prolly try to reinstall. But when I try to save my activation with the protect.exe it says that that my game *requires* activation and thus I'm unable to save one :/ So looks like I will be losing yet another activation upon re-installing. I also might have found the source of the problem, though it still puzzles me very much. It goes something like this: I have two separate installations on my computer; one for current W7 and the one I had while I was still using W7 beta. For some obscure reason (patching?) I am no longer unable to start the installation that I made on the current W7 :P So yeah, I might have messed up a bit, but I also believe that it would help to be able to select the game directory upon patch installation if you have multiple installs on the system. But I also do still believe that I have played BS without ~any changes from the current setup.
  18. Thanks for the replies. Haven't realized yet what is the problem. When I tried to change resolution settings it get this:
  19. I was just about to fly the Ka-50 after a pause of a month. But when I started the game version 1.01 I noticed that the game had lost all of it's settings :( Resolution, game mode, and even key commands were back to the default. And I even had to activate the game again  If I recall correctly, the only change that has happened after the last time that I flew was that I installed FC2.0 (but of course in a different directory) I checked the controllers directory, and looks like that my old joystick and controller files are still intact (the "last edited"-date looked right) but I'm unable to load them in game; any tips how to do this? What gives? Losing an activation for nothin kinda pisses me off, but having to setup everything again would really make me mad
  20. Can I copy my old key files from FC 1 and use them in FC2?
  21. The manual has info about this, but if I recall correclty, artillery will shoot point fire and try to adjust their fire accordingly if the target zone is less than 100m (or 20m?). If it is bigger then arty will shoot in area fire mode.
  22. Not meaning to threadjack, but I have noticed that the AI constantly wastes it's ATGMs against infantry. Looks stupid and is very un-efficient.
  23. Thats what I meant. I could be done, in at least during the next 10 years. There is no Nato/Russia/Ukraine conflict in the foreseeable future, yet the sim models that. So if we are fighting a hypothetical war, we might as well use weapons which exist, but which haven't got the funding to become operational...yet. (but of course, no lasers or anything like that, with the exception of the 747 ABL :P ) Of course realism is huge and important issue, but maybe we shouldn't be so strict on all of the things. Then again, there are some things which are pretty hard to compare to the real world, and one of those is is the black shark itself :P But, I guess that it *might* be funded and selected for fielding some day...
  24. IMHO Lomac-scene is "a bit" too strict on the loadout realism issue. For instance in AF it is nice to have many variants of missiles to choose from, including those that haven't been fielded yet, but will be fielded in 10 years (or, something similar will be fielded instead) But because in LO weapons have to be in active use IRL, we don't have RVV-AEs for Su-33s, or some model of a plane cannot carry certain weapons, but will be able to do that after a MLU. Of course, there are some issues in AF too.. for example, you can't load maverics with TERs, because one of them could burn the jet, and IRL that kind of risks would be taken only in very grave situations.. but isn't it such a situation when red tanks roll next to the tarmac of the last free airbase :P
  25. Lockheed delivers ‘Warthog’ upgrade Lockheed Martin has delivered the second major element of the US Air Force’s A-10C Precision Engagement (PE) upgrade. The digital stores management system (DSMS) has been delivered for flight testing as work continues to define an engine upgrade for the attack aircraft, writes Graham Warwick. Replacing an analogue system, the DSMS automates management of the aircraft’s weapons and integrates its targeting pod – Lockheed’s Sniper or Northrop Grumman’s Litening – added to the Fairchild-produced A-10 in the first stage of the upgrade. This first increment of the PE programme will undergo operational suitability assessment in the first quarter of next year, says Lockheed programme director Roger Il Grande. The first increment upgrades the cockpit with two colour multifunction displays and expanded hands-on-throttle-and-stick controls. The second increment, which adds smart weapons – Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munition and Lockheed’s Wind-Corrected Munitions Dispenser – and the SADL situational awareness datalink, will be released by the end of the year for flight testing in the first half of 2007, says Il Grande. The USAF plans to upgrade all 356 of its A-10s over three years, with the first production aircraft to be inducted into the modernisation programme during April. Development of an upgrade for the type’s General Electric TF34 engine, primarily to increase thrust by using technology from the commercial CF34, is expected to begin in fiscal year 2007 and take three years, Il Grande says. The planned upgrades to the A-10 fleet are expected to extend operations of the type until 2028. http://www.flightglobal.com/Articles/2006/03/28/Navigation/190/205692/Lockheed+delivers+%e2%80%98Warthog%e2%80%99+upgrade.html
