  1. Is it as good and well made as A-10C module? No. Does it make missions a lot more interesting and dynamic, without the need for complex scripting? YES! Especially true in multiplayer, when you can control troops and sometimes jump in to a tank to see things from a different perspective and even mark targets with laser.
  2. This. Also, the helicopter gets lighter, etc. Even though the projectile is recoilless, it doesn't just teleport away. Having fired a live LAW I can guarantee that the event is pretty "dynamic" to say at least :) So I would go with a gentle nod of the helicopter instead of full blown recoil.
  3. Hi. Could someone of you scripting gurus take a look at this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=115637&page=11 and try to simulate "shrapnel" damage of bombs, rockets and artillery? I for one would be happy to have a simplistic solution for simulating shrapnels, with propabilities and zones like this: Example: MK82 vs infantry Infantry within 40 feet of the impact: 100% propability of death Infantry within 80 feet of the impact: 60% propability of death Infantry within 120 feet of the impact: 30% propability of death Infantry within 120+ feet of the impact: no damage Especially artillery is pretty much useless because you need a direct hit, where as in real life a single 155mm HE shell exploded at an airfield would damage parked aircraft at least 100m away... or at least have a chance to damage the planes. I believe that this could be done, for example Mbot's suppression script has similar parts that track "near" hits. We just need a few zones with different propabilities for unit's destruction.
  4. This would be a dick way of doing things, but I believe you could script the planes to explode unless player has cockpit switches in some secret combination 60 seconds after spawn... :)
  5. Exactly. And I would do the LOS check only for terrain; not for vehicles. The problem that we would like to solve is that infantry and light skinned vehicles survive bombs that explode 50 feet away. Having no protection from a tank that is between the unit and the explosion is a lesser problem than surviving near hits.
  6. That would be the RIGHT way to do it, but then you would have to consider penetration values, etc. Propability zones with LOS check would be the EASY and FUNCTIONAL way to do it. I honestly believe that this could be modded very easily, because all you have to consider is the binary state of a unit; destroyed or not.

  8. It would be SO GREAT to be able to save multiplayer mission in progress. I wonder if one can convert a track file status in to a .miz-file? Because you can continue flying a saved track, it should also be possible to be able to do that in multiplayer. Of course it would be enough to be able to convert the world status of a track in to a .miz, It doesn't matter if the planes have to take off again. Persistent damage to the ground units and other objects is more important.
  9. The picures look very pretty, but also very resource intensive. Even though having Nevada as a terrain is nice (because of the Red Flag is nice), I think that for a war simulation that is not a good area. What we need is diverse landscapes with multiple airbases so that we can create "realistic" and balanced scenarios. So even random terrain would be OK. This is Digital COMBAT simulator, sightseeing Vegas is more like R&R :)
  10. The problem is that I cannot make a condition like "wait for 10 minutes" for the "Takeoff from parking"-task, nor can I turn the unit AI off because the unit is an airplane. I believe that this can be done, but it is a bit tricky.

In my mission I would like to have a few planes/helicopters wait at the airport/farp with all systems on so that they are ready to take off and can be ordered to do so via map or by jumping in to cockpit if necessary. What would be the best way to do this without AI shutting down after a few minutes? Fuel expenditure is not a problem, but I don't want to have helicopters hovering at 1m altitude :)
  13. Mi-8 was 49,99 just 14 days ago. So, loss of two bucks per day... Sure, it is nice that we get more players, but a 60% sale in two weeks is a bit much. I didn't lose anything, but it wouldn't feel nice to go on a bar binge and then hear that the price of beer dropped 60% :P

  15. Hi. I currently use a 27" 2560x1440 main monitor and a single vertical 24" 1920x1200 monitor (running at 1440x900 res.) Currently the side screen is used only for MFDs or Skhval/Arbris I would like to have a symmetric setup with single vertical 1440x900 screens placed on both sides of the 2560x1440. I believe it is possible to run with (900+2560+900)*1440 resolution main viewport with MFDs projected on top of the scenery, in the corners of the side monitors? So when flying with choppers I would have a wide field of view and with A10C I would have a bit smaller field of view? Any recommendations? Would Asus 19" VS198D monitors be OK for this purpose?
  16. I contacted them. I could send it back so that they would fix it, but why pay 100€ to fix ONE component in a controller when a whole set cost about 300€... True, that is 200€ more, but then I'd have two... just in case someone models a multiengine plane like B-52 :) But on a serious note, I took a peek inside, nothing looked to be a miss. Earlier I had to solder one hat switch on the stick, that problem was very easy to spot. Has anyone removed the HALL sensors? How to?
  17. Hi, has anyone here experienced a broken throttle with TM Warthog? Mine worked great for a couple of years, but currently the right side throttle axis does not work. So the buttons on the throttle work OK, but the HALL sensor stays quiet. I don't know where the problem is. (sensor, wiring, soldering?) I could send this back to Thrustmaster, but postage alone would cost something like 100€...
  18. I would like to say thanks for this script. It is really nice and adds a lot to the game. Now it makes much more sense to have troop carriers around, so this also makes choppers more usefull :)

  21. Hi, has anyone foud out a way to: 1)Turn minefield "on" or "off" during a mission 2)Spawn minefield any way during a mission? 2)Spawn minefields on the locations of a cluster munition explosions (where realistically applicable) This would be real neat job for the MI-8 and the MLRS units...

  23. What would happen if you set the mission to begin at 0900 hours but the planes spawn at 0930 hours? Would the combat happen in the backround :unsure:
  24. Hopefully someone creates a MIST script for expending ammo. In most of my missions it would look pretty stupid to have fifteen minutes of carnage just to expend the ammo... :P
  25. How do you set a group low on ammo at the start of the mission?
