Yeah kinda hoping someone official will pop in and tell us when the 3 day period is likely to start, as it is a fairly small window. -
Get a 28 degrees mastercard, it is virtually spot on xe.com rates ;)

Anyone? Have sold of some unneeded stuff I've collected over the years and can probably afford to jump back on board, but timing is critical when there is only a 3 day window -

There was talk of the pre-order pricing being re-opened for 3 days after the reviewers got their devices. Any word on when exactly this is going to happen? -

Unboxing from Magz. Interesting stuff for me was at the end, regarding the panel switches all binding out of the box without the need for the winwing software. -

Thanks for being so engaged with the community, it was great to see you guys in Jabber's stream last night. Moltar has just put his stick aside because it came with two sets of Hard cams and they are unflyable. Please ship with a solution where there is no hard detent around center, it will make virtually all phases of flight terrible, and AAR/formation flying impossible. -
I said it on discord and I'll say it again here ... Bravo! Amazing work and I can't wait to start printing some components. In one fell swoop you have answered many prayers, 3d models for all the knobs in the cockpit? Hallelujah!

WINWING F/A-18C HOTAS 2019.9.30 RELEASE
Bullant replied to WINWING's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the live stream Jabbers, apart from the bit where we were all yelling at you that you had the throttle mounts wrong it probably went exactly the way it would for any one of us who just received our new toys, although mine would have been plugged in a lot quicker ;) I'm a little confused about the "fix" for the throttle handles hitting each other. Is not the L/R sync option a way of "locking" the two throttles together ala the warthog? Or is it something completely different? My summary after watching is that the throttle looks fantastic, jury is still out on the stick. -

Reading the manual now, this concerns me a little I would hope that using the push through would not in any way damage or wear out the throttle, considering it is the way the aircraft is supposed to operate? -

I guess so you can map it to the same control in DCS and have the lever move in game when you move the physical lever? -
Hugging my Cougar right now ;) Might be time to invest in a sensor upgrade though. Wonder if anyone does spring upgrades, the stick is quite "chunky" compared to the warthog.
-
I have spares and thought I could send them to you, but cheapest postage starts at A$20 for $8 worth of switch and rotary.
-
Hey mate hope you are feeling better. Chicks digs scars though, right? PM sent about F18 plans :)

My engineering approach to a Hornet pit build project

Oh sweet lord, that looks amazing. I spot a cheeky F16 ICP sitting in the background as well ;) -
Printed the case and internals at .2mm layer height and the knob and button at .1mm Still need to paint the button, but I think it turned out pretty well, certainly looks the part on my test panel box. All hooked up through dcs-bios and works perfectly. Thanks for sharing your work Blue, really appreciated.

Not silly at all, I had a play and it seem fairly stubbornly attached and didn't want to go breaking things. Will attempt a bit more persuasion in removing it this time ;) That did it, don't I feel like an idiot now!
-
Cheers mate, I have it all assembled and it is a beauty. But I'm stumped and google isn't helping. How do I set the limit on the rotary switch to bring it down to a 7 position from 12? Here's a photo of my rotary, I am assuming I need to use the pin on the washer but it doesn't fit into any of the gaps on the silver ring around the shaft.
-
These ones? https://www.altronics.com.au/p/s3021-1-pole-2-12-position-pcb-mount-rotary-switch/ They are 1/3 the price of the model listed in the first post, and techtronics have both these rotaries and the S1405 switch for a decent price. edit: missed the jaycar reference, looks like they have the rotary and spst switches for $4 each, I know where I am heading on my lunch break.
-
Printed this yesterday and it turned out great. Found a source for the pusbutton, just need to find the correct rotary switch now.
-
No and no. Any word on that throttle video or the dimensions for each unit Winwing?
-
Modules in beta can change, teh amount of changes vary. Sometimes none, sometimes a few. I was keeping the F18 module up to date with changes, but have slipped lately, I need to get back on top of that. Any changes are not normally that bad that it takes a huge amount of work to fix (and it is easy to identify required changes by comparing a certain set of files using a file comparison tool).
-
Haha that picture is the standard throttle arm! They have said in the past that we will be able to add the extension to our existing orders in time for it to be included with the stick and throttle when it is delivered. Fingers crossed that is still the case.

I'm hoping they are busy getting production units ready to ship, but it's not a good look when vendors are really engaged up until people hand over their money then go silent. fwiw, I placed my order a week ago, fingers crossed everything turns out ok.
