So far I'm loving the journey, I cannot wait for the printed manual, it sucks only looking at one page at a time on my ipad lol.
-
It does center slightly off, but a small deadzone takes care of that (and with the force sensing you need it).

The X65F works great in FC2. There is an issue with the right throttle not being identified but I can live with it till its patched.
-
Found an issue with the X65F in FC2 and DCS. It does not recognize the right throttle at all. Is there a work around for this? I'd like to be able to control both engines...
-
With the Saitek X65F, the right throttle is not assignable. Left throttle assigns ok. EDIT, same problem in DCS
-
You don't have to bolt it down, I won't. I never even use it on the highest force settings.
-
$800 actually, got the instrument panel screen for it (which knocks $50 off the screen when you buy the the stick combo) and the radio panel and autopilot panel for FSX.

SAITEK X65F NEW CONTROLSYSTEM
BladeLWS replied to huteng's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
FYI there is no stick travel, its fixed. -
Got the X65F the other day, works great with BS. Set trim and let it fly itself with finger tip corrections ;) No spiking issues with this stick, all axis work just fine, including the mini stick. Full metal construction etc. As opposed to the G940 I had prior, where the rudder pedals and dials had spiking issues, and putting the stick to the left forward and none of the buttons on the stick worked. If anyone has any questions just ask.

Yikes! http://www.kuam.com/news/26596.aspx Both pilots ejected safely. With a $1.2Billion (yes with a B) the fleet will probably be grounded until the find out the problem.

A B-2 can carry 80 500lb JDAM's, or about 40 cluster bombs. More than enough to take out that entire airfield on a single pass... that and it can fly 6000 miles with a full weapons load.
-
I don't see and external tanks or heavy weapons except wingtip missiles so that F-16 must of been at minimal weight. But damn thats a dumb move to taxi past a four engine aircraft like the B-1 in one of the lightest fighters in the world... Here's a lengthy thread over at F-16.net http://www.f-16.net/f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-8485.html

Trapped in an F-22 - Old Story first pics I've seen
BladeLWS replied to Anytime's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
They're Flame/Heat suits that US military fire fighters wear for fighting aircraft fires. -
And I'm sure about 10 seconds later said aviator got its ass blown off by the same Raptor. :D
-
Some more here http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123037102 The USAF is foward deploying a squadron of 12 Raptors to Kadena AFB in Japan, first deployment for the Raptor! :D In other news the USAF is also deploying 15 F-117A Nighthawks to South Korea. This is a big move, the Air Force is moving assets into position for something. NK is promoting this nuke test soon, this maybe a show of force to keep them from doing it.

OT: Navy to name next carrier after Ford!
BladeLWS replied to BladeLWS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Corsair, the Navy DID CONFIRM the Ford as the first ship of the CVN-21 class. It was already signed in a bill sent to Bush a few months ago, and confirmed by Rumsfeld and the Navy today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Gerald_R._Ford_%28CVN-78%29 http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/navy/batgru-78.htm -
We now know the name for CVN-21. USS Gerald R. Ford! http://www.forbes.com/entrepreneurs/feeds/ap/2007/01/03/ap3296796.html

OT “Das Boot” new generation stealth submarine
BladeLWS replied to TucksonSonny's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
If someone were to fire a Shkval at a US sub, you can be assured that the captain is gonna go balls to wall and get out the way. -
In real life, the F-15 moves up to the boom, and the boom operator moves the boom into the slot. Yea its pretty hard in Lock On since its over your shoulder.
-
I have it for FSX. Approach makes you feel like you're flying the real thing.
-
The F-35 has the most powerful jet engine of any fighter, 43,000lbs of thrust. Its not "piggy". They had a long runways and decided to use it. On first flights they keep the gear down so going into afterburners would of gone of max gear speed to fast. Check out this video of it testing its engine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHInTk3gtnc&mode=related&search= And yes the JSF uses a helmet mounted display. Looking at the cockpit in the video I posted there is no more HUD.

lol, i didnt know until i saw it on another forum, thought it just came out.
