Something like this may do the job. http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/press/artwork/Mura_MPX_Series/3/med/Matrox_Mura_MPX44_composite_dvi_adapter.htm Never tried it before though so cant guarantee it. Or failing that, this looks like it'd do the job. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/HDMI-DVI-1080P-to-AV-CVBS-Composite-Mini-Converter-Support-PAL-NTSC-480i-576i-For-TV/595956865.html

Hi Gadroc, out of interest, are those motors Unipolar or bipolar?
-
I don't know what the product is called, but I was looking into this a few years ago and came across the following vid. It may point you in the right direction
-
I'd be interested (assuming I could interface via Helios). I have an altimeter / Mach meter i'd like to wire up!

Well... I was wondering why my landing gear would deploy, retract, deploy, retract etc ... whenever he wagged his tail :megalol:

Phew.... Was beginning to worry - hopefully the royal mail will get to me tomorrow :) That or the dog's eaten it (wouldn't be the first time!)

WOW!!!!!!!! Fantastic job. I would love to see a vid from pilot's eye perspective. I imagine the immersion must be stunning!

My wife is going to slaughter me...... PM inbound!

I'm a +1 for the next run. Hopefully we'll get the numbers requesting these up and make 2nd run viable.

Part of me feels really sorry for M$ in a way. TBH, they are damned if they do, damned if they dont. I remember when they were constantly being slated for lack of security. They addressed this and introduced UAC, then they got butchered for an interfering interface that required too many clicks to do anything (I personally hate UAC, but you see my point). Like some of the previous posters, i'm an IT professional and have been so since the days of MS DOS (My first Pc was a ZX spectrum :) ) In that time I've seen the industry move and change in hugely interesting ways. All vendors have to move with the times and innovate. If they didnt, we'd still be playing M$ flight sim v0.1 (Anyone wanna sim like this: http://fshistory.simflight.com/fsh/index.htm?). Sadly, people resist change as they become comfortable with what they know and are fearful change will 'break things'. The bigger the change, the bigger the resistance. I think the point of the OP, was the apparent death of PCs and PC gaming and a sense of "what the hell are m$ doing!?". I will agree that PC gaming has been overshadowed by consoles, and we all use a much larger array of devices and operating systems than we used to, but do I think PC gaming and PCs as a concept are dead, 100% no. The key change here is how we access our data and where that data is stored. M$ have recognised that the device market has shifted and are addressing it with Windows 8. It's geared for consiming data hosted in the cloud on any windows (or other) device. That is what most users want, and sadly us simmers as a very small niche, in a very small niche of PC gamers. We should actually be glad we havent been totally ignored. I've been using Windows 8 / Server 2012 betas and RTMs etc for a while now and i'm actually really impressed with what M$ are doing. If you look at it from a business use sense, its actually very impressive! M$ arent abandoning the desktop market, they're just expanding the platforms the OS will support and trying to give a unified feel. I dont feel for one second that PC gaming is dead, and I dont think the desktop market as a whole will die out, it'll just change, evolve and improve. Caveat: Windows ME and Vista made me want to jump of a bridge :helpsmilie:

Just got mine too. Great work and recommended to anyone building a pit!

I have 2 Phidget LED 64 cards that I'm using to drive various LED's via Helios. I also have a couple of stepper / servo controllers that I'm at the 'tinkering' stage with. All in all I think they are great and worth the high price pint. BUT only because helios makes it so easy. I'm not a coder so even though Phidgets have a lot of info on how to integrate them, I wouldnt have the faintest idea where to begin. I have a Gpwiz 40 and the same sliding pot as you. I'll have a test and see if I can get it going.

So want!! But my wife will kick me out if one more (unauthorised) ebay package arrives at the house!

Found this in the UK last night http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390461152690?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Pretty close to an A10 CDU, some of the button labels arent correct, but close enough. I put an offer of £45 in as it has a bit of damage and the seller came back with £65. I countered with £55 and he declined. So I reckon £60 should clinch it. Bit pricey for me given the shipping / condition but one of you guys may be interested.

If it hasn't gone already, what price would you let one go for?

Good news  I just wonder what the firewall has to do with it... maybe dropping packets from export.lua? My setup is all local at the moment, but I do want to move some Helios workloads off to another PC so i'll keep an eye out for this.

My environment is as follows. Win 7 x64 Helios: 1.2.176.447 Phidget Library: 2.1.8 with Phidget.NET 2.1.8.86 I'm leaving the Phidget control panel app in the system tray whilst running Helios, it looks like having it running or not doesnt seem to matter either way. However, having a dialogue open to control the card before opening Helios will break Helios' ability to talk to the card. I am able to turn an LED on or off with either the app or Helios, i'm guessing you can do the same which would suggest to me that the LED card is working okay. Have you had a look in your event viewer to see it the app might be crashing when DCS starts up?

Hi, It's been a while since I fired up Helios with a Phidget LED attached. However, I setup a quick test with the following settings and it worked straight away. The only difference I can see from your setup is the Toggle Power / Set Power setting. Hope this helps..... J

Thats right, the bulb holder pops right out so I can easily get to the bulbs. The problem has always been how to connect an LED to the existing connection poles burried in the body of the switch (you'll know what I mean if you've seen one). The solution you've provided solves all of the above - Actually, it was pretty obvious so i'm kicking myself for not thinking of it myself :)

Thanks Deadman! Very much appreciated! Well, I know what i'm up to this weekend :)

I would honestly shy away from using the real thing; especially at that price point. I managed to get my hands on an A model NMSP Panel which i'm converting to use in the pit. However (and this may not be the case with the newer models) the switches each contain 4 incandescent bulbs, which I am unable to drive with a Phidgets LED board, and hence no Helios support. The design of the switch makes it almost impossible (I havent figured it out yet!) to easily and cheaply swap the bulbs for LEDs due to the way the switch is made (very difficult to describe but i'll post pics if asked) and at the very least i'd have to destroy the switch to cheaply put an LED in. The only easy solution i've found is to replace the bulbs with these type of LEDS http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/689826-led-midget-flange-t1-3-4-12v-grn-1510125ug3.html; but they seem to be about an averave $50 each; or $1400 to replace the lot!!! I think anyone with a laser cutter / CNC could knock one of these up for a fraction of the price. I'll happily provide dimensions / pics if anyone is willingto make one of these.

Hi Leafer, I have a couple of Suncom sticks (Talon and Raptor) in my loft. I was planning on modding them many, many years ago but now the hog has superceded the throttle and theyr'e just gathering dust... If you need spares PM me and I'll see if I can dig them out.

Post MotherBoard Specs Of Bricked TM Warthogs Here Please
Jimbo replied to twobells's topic in Thrustmaster
My throttle died a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, Thrustmaster support were fantastic! They even paid (£50) the shipping costs. It's a new product and s**t happens, i'm just glad to find a manufacturer who is genuinely keen to iron out the bugs and improve the product rather than push the blame onto the end user (which I see all too often)
