  1. +1, You are not alone.
  2. I have this too from time to time. Because I do not know the cause, my workaround is a system-reboot.
  3. I am thinking of creating a UFC-layout-keyboard. What do you guys think?
  4. Load was rather equally distributetd over all 4 cores, even during DCS-gamplay. I could never identify any two cores as being the cores used by DCS. I know this is strange, we discussed this "equally distributed load while DCS supoprts only two cores - issue" within my squad mates as well. No conclusion found. In my case, no core ever went to 100% for longer than a second, except during, file zipping or benchmarking. I had the CPU running at 3,8 GhZ.
  5. Hi MeerCat! I just sold my Qx9650 rig, upgraded to Iwy Board and Sandy i2500k and I am experiencing a major FPS improvement (same GFX card in use) !! My advice: upgrade to ivy bridge(!) board and consider buying a 2500k or even already iwy-bridge CPU. Although I required a new MoBO, new RAM, new PSU I did not spend more than 250 Euro for this eintire upgrade. However, I could sell the older parts. The QX9650 alone brought me over 150€, wehreas my 2500k was about 180€. I'd really considering a major upgrade, in your case. Unfortunately you'll have to cop with system builder's mess during the upgrade. It did cost me two weekends. At least I did not(!) had to reinstall Windows nor DCS. FYI, my qx9650 was never running at 100% during DCS gamplay. However my new rig does provide much better frames, so, i guess the system's "architecture" was the bottleneck.
  6. Oh, Oh, ooooold. Did not notice that. Well,I am going to find some Red/Green glasses, then. Guess it's time for 3d movie at the cinema again. *g*
  7. What is you personal(!) definition of "beast of a computer" for this context? Am I out - with my spex?
  8. I have bought the Vergeev Campaign quite some time ago, but now that I have set up my DCS-BS2 Helios -finally, I noticed, that I don't have the campaing any longer. Can I redownload somewhere? Without paying again.
  9. It happened to me twice in a single mission. I was in a very steep dive (!) on attack run, suddenly, all engines went off. I recovered, sailed away, started up with APU. Reangaged (in the same steep dive) and it happened again. I recovered and was able to start the engines again, therafter I went RTB. I still cannot explain what happend. Maybe I was in negative/zero-G condition for 10 seconds, can't tell for sure.
  10. Hi Server-Admins, Who of you is successfully hosting missions that have more than 10 (like 15+) clients connected at a time? Background info: On our (vJaBoG322) servers we are starting to experience join issues on the client side for players that join the server and click "FLY" after there are already 10 or so client slots filled. It happened to various clients already. It seems as if the last one or two that join (at the time we have about 8-12 people participating in our trainings), are having issues like the following: -> After picking an aircraft and clicking "fly" they find themselves on the F10-MAP screen and don't get the 3d-cockpit. So we thought about a software issue or so that only is notable with 10+ clients. It can easily be wiped if there are servers, that successfully host to 15+ connected clients.
  11. Damn, missed this offer. Need one too.
  12. It is advertised differently though: I qoute from the abocve linked article: "HyperFormance goes a little further than Virtual Vsync by attempting to preemptively remove any frames that wouldn’t be finished before the next frame is scheduled, again reassigning that rendering time to the next frame. Ideally, average FPS should be increased since partial frames don't tie up rendering resources. The only potential problem with this technology is game compatibility." However I am aware that this improvement is rather theoretic though.
  13. Lucid Virtu MVP Just found this.... Lucid Virtu MVP is more tehn Lucid Virtu: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/z77-express-virtu-mvp-benchmark,review-32415.html But still obviousely not FPS-improving for DCS.
  14. I am setting up my new asus p8z77 board and now i am wondering why dcs is not in the "recognized games" list in the lucid virtu control panel. Any info on Lucid virtu and DCS highly welcome. Did not find anything.
  15. If you can specify what you (TARS) requires exactly, we might consider building a dummy-radio-client, if it does not conflict with EDs licensing policy. Specific folder structure? Specific *.lua files? Registy keys as well? It is a PITA to start DCS and control the radio from within DCS-a10 3D cockipt for our Airspace/Tower controller. But I guess we have to live with that, unless ED provides as a "DCS-GroundBasedRadio" Client product.
  16. Headspace, any chance to use TARS standalone? What we require, is that a tower-controller, who shoud not be required to have a copy of DCS installed, is able to speak with us pilots. Can you imagine a standalone (w/o DCS) feature for the next TARS version?
  17. Eizo 2411WH-BK - 24" Reference Quality Eizo 2411WH-BK - 24" Reference Quality By far the best (and most expensive) monitor i've ever had. But I am going for a 27" panel now, so check out this one: http://www.ebay.at/itm/180808806873?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649#ht_500wt_1156
  18. Here is my current setup...
  19. According to our latest experience the laser refuses to work after 20 minutes usage. Thereafter a "T" symbol appears in the TGP an the laser does not paint anymore. Although 20 minutes of lasing should be fairly enough normally, it might be a limiting factor for AFAC roles. Furthermore, the laser cannot be fires again en after 30 mins of cooling. Currently it looks like you can paint for 20 minutes, and that's it. Still to be confirmed by others though.
  20. Does anyone know the time endurance parameters for laser painting. We beleive to have discovered that the tgp's laser pointer get too hot (or refuse to work) after one is painting for too long (with DCSWH 1.1.1.0). I do not know if it cools down at all thereafter. Has anyone experienced similar behaviour? EDIT: No one?! FYI, we trained buddy-lasing techniques which requires the painter's laser actived much longer than it would for self-lasing attack-runs.
  21. What stick do you use? Actually you need a software to map key-strokes to joystick-buttons. HOTAS Systems are usually programmable and as such, have a keyboard-mapping software bundeled. For TM Warthog it is called TARGET, Saitek calls it STT-Profiler, or similiar.
  22. I have read somewhere that IRL the different RADIOS VHF AM and UHF are connected to only one side of the pilot's earphones. So if there is an incoming call in his left earphne, it is coming via Box1, VHF-AM, and if he hears the transmission on his right, it is coming from Box2, UHF. Probably Guard is then stereo, i dunno. Can anyone confirm this? Could this theoretically implemented in TARS as well, then?
