  1. I think that if you carry bombs in your outer pylons they are always released in pairs (to avoid a dangerously unbalanced aircraft). If you have bombs in the inner pylons you can release them individually.
  2. The Su-25T and the Su-25 have the advanced flight model and it requires a little more horsepower that the standart flight model on the other planes.

  4. Keep in mind that not only models are calculated any given time. Missiles, radar, AI, flight models, etc are calculated too. So an air defense site may be farther that 1km and thus only rendered as a cube but it's radar is tracking you, it's AI is working to shoot you down, etc. But something is indeed wrong when parked at base you get 10FPS just by looking at some other aircraft or buildings and 45FPS when looking inother direction (or 150FPS when looking at the sky).

  6. I have a similar system: 2.4GHz P4, 1GB RAM and a 6800GT I can crank up almost every setting exept water (currently at medium) and of course vis range (medium). I get FPS in the 20 and 30 but of course they get lower near big cities or lots of ground units (worse if it is both :o ). I think you will get a nice experience with lomac and your current system. Of course it's never bad to update ;).
  7. Some models have no LODs at all. The f-18 model is the same at 5m or 5km so even if you only see a pixel the cpu is calculating the entire geometry.:rolleyes:
  8. Well now with the AFM for the su-25 and 25T you can land anywhere (the other planes explode the instant any part of them touches the ground :rolleyes: ). So in theory you could look for a flat piece of land, place some objects and vehicles and have the player land there. If you do it carefully enough it is easy to land the 25T on the dirt. If I remember right some time ago someone made a mod that put some targeting circles on the ground at several places (they were 3 or 4 concentric circles placed on the ground to simulate bombing practice ranges) so you could make a dirt landing strip, place it on the map and the populate the area with vehicles and trees (another mod).

  11. Yep Vikhrs sometimes miss if fired from too close. Because they keep turning they need some time to stabilize so shooting one from near min range is almost always a waste of a missile. I always fire them from far away, they don't miss this way.
  12. Check your missile effectiveness slider. There was a bug in 1.02 where if you moved the slider to a setting different from 50% or 100% missiles would miss a lot (and I mean A LOT). I'm not sure if this bug is present in 1.1 but it's worth checking. Put this slider to 50% or 100% and see if your missiles hit. Difficulty settings used in campaigns are the ones the campaign maker specified not what you have set. I think this is a little dumb but that's the way it is.
  13. Need help!! :confused: I'm building a mission and need to destroy 3 OSA sam sites susing an AI flight. Well everything works, they fire their missiles and destroy all three sams. The problem is that one plane keeps flying in the direction of the targets (the other one follows waypoints as planned). Eventually it gets shot down and right then the other one turns around and starts flying toward the downed aircraft :rolleyes: only to get shot down too. Zoomboy many you can help me here.   14. Actually you can lock EWR using ETS. They show up as triangles and change to circles when you lock them. You can't fire at them though. Well no problem there as that's how it's supposed to be.
  15. Wow, many thanks Zoomboy. I have more questions so that you don't get bored. Can you shoot antiradiation missiles like the Kh-58 at EWR sites? I just made a mission to test it out and the plane just won't let you fire at them. Firing at other threats like Buk sites works ok.

  17. Is there any kind of smoke rockets for russian aircraft (flyable or AI) like the ones the A-10 can carry? I'm currently building some missions and I would like an AI plane to mark the targets (I don't like to use the targeting reticle always). Another question: How do you make ships attack other ships? I have tried assigning targets but no go. Thanks

  19. If you are talking about increasing and decreasing radar range, then I think that they are the - and = keys. Left of the backspace key.

  21. Try this: If you have multiple targets close to eachother (a convoy for example) get some distance (10-15km) and setup your attack. Use autopilot with attitude hold and lock the first target. Shoot a Vikhr and 7 to 10s later shoot another and so on (but don't shoot more that 3 or 4). When the first one hits quikly move your laser designator to the next target (the second Vikhr will turn). Do this until your 4 Vikhr hit their targets. Do this only if the targets are close to eachother or else the missiles won't be able to follow the laser.
  22. The AFM is so great that flying the other planes just doesn't feel right. Landing a 25t peppered with holes is no easy task!!(but it's great :) ). About the sensitivity thing maybe ED can implement different input curves for different aircraft so we can have the straight one for the 25 and 25t and curved ones for the rest.
  23. Yep, that was me :) . Not much of a hassle really. Other than that I've had no problems with starforce. But i'm using the download version (CD and download use different versions of starforce).
