  1. Just done about 6-8 take-off's not stop, controlled hovers transitions, circuit and landings into wind (3m/s) with not a single VRS or uncontrolled loss of transitional lift on landing. Looks like I'm learning and getting the 'feel' of this thing at last. :smartass: I'm still using the runway but each one I manage to get closer to my virtual LZ in my head. Not missing by much.
  2. From what I have seen on the forums here the general consensus (imho) of RL pilot feedback is they like it and seem comfortable allthough it is a bit jittery and the pendulum effect seems a tad harsh. Perhaps this is controller inputs that need tweeking, cause when looking at Furia's vids, the man has full control. ;)
  3. I watched that thing so many times looking at the gauges as best I could. The transition from forward flight to hover, when your speed is around 30-40knots is just plain brutal and requires max concentration. The loss of transitional lift shakes your fillings in your teeth out and this is the key point where you need to control the collective and the rudder inputs to maintain controlled descent. At least this is how I am sorta understanding it in my non pilot lingo and confused brain. I did get one right on a rig yesterday.
  4. Arm, the devs said this ship handles very differently with extra weight onboard. Have you setup the pilot trimmer? That helped me quite a bit with regard to not over correcting the pendulum type effect.
  5. Thank you sir!
  6. Best $50 bucks I ever spent on a sim. :thumbsup::clap_2::worthy:
  7. I want to turn that yellow script off, anyone?
  8. Yeah, I'm not complaining, I'm learning out loud :) Loving this Huey, arguably the best $50 I have ever spent on sim software.
  9. Thanks mate, good advice and what I am striving for. That landing I planted was a nice approach, but got wobbly just as I cleared the railing. I expect a RL pilot would have aborted right then and there but i had white knuckle fever hehe.
  10. So I spent most of today just taking off, trying to hover, flying short circuits to point across the airfield and landing. Oh, yes and crashing in spectacular fashion a lot :music_whistling: Really enjoying it. I need to read more about this in the manual but I find when you shift from forward flight to hover its like the rotor cavitates and you loose lift rapidly. This seems to happen at alt as well so need to understand this properly. So then I got brave and attempted an oil rig landing. Found this very challenging. Was reading Chickenhawk and remembered the reference points the pilots were talking about for formo flying. Tried that and it seemed to help a lot, but its hard to keep the ship steady out there with not much to reference when the rig moves out of sight as a result of poor flying. One of the many, attempts, I did hit the bullseye though :) Finally planted one. :smilewink:
  11. Yeah I am falling out of the sky like an anvil. The moment I transition from forward movement to what I call a hover :music_whistling: when I get low enough it just drops like a stone.
  12. :thumbup: My Huey is beeeooootiiifffulllllll, thanks so much Belsmitek +ED while looking for all the switches to get the ship started I thought to my self whats that sound. Light rain hitting the airframe, fealt so warm and cozy inside. Excellent. :thumbup:

  18. As long as its doubles, the singles are sold out.
  19. All this uncertainty about when it will be released has driven me mad over the last few weeks. I have now taken comfort with an old friend, Alcohol. :drink: :drink: :drink: Having a hangover at work seems to interfere less with my productivity than the F5 key.
  20. The temptation is almost to much :)
  21. Wire Strike protection system
  22. That looks spot on, a little vid, noticed the sparks when the hull hit the cables. Excuse the poor flying.
