  1. who wrote the review for the mag?
  2. That really does look better. I tried to mod this mission in the lua but then it would not load or open. So eagerly awaiting an update :D
  3. That looks good John, how does it look in a forested area (lots of trees around) from above.
  4. Was keen to edit and test a few options, but can't seem to find where that parameter is (100m above ground) in the mission editor? Im an unashamed ME noob though :music_whistling:
  5. If it is possible to set it lower it might be a bit more realistic. Perhaps a few meters above the ground, say approximate height of trees so the smoke will just be on or above the top of the trees. Great mission. Thx
  6. Really enjoying this. On one of my pilot recovery trips the dumbass jetjockey said he could see me and would pop smoke. He was in the general area of a hill side covered with trees. Unfortunately for him his smoke canister didn't work to well. I spent the better part of 20 minutes over the area above the trees trying to find him, hovering and moving slowly following the needle, which was telling me he was there but I just could not see him. Eventually bugged out and went after some other downed pilots. Guess Charlie got him in the end. :)
  7. In order to find where you need to go it is necessary. Its really easy though, check this short and sweet instructional video out.
  8. Nice, man, thanks for the effort in putting this together.
  9. Yup, nothing wrong with that m8, nice
  10. 2 more, my attempts at high speed approach over a set lz. clnd.trk clnd2.trk
  11. You need to anticipate it to a degree, you know (as you indicated) where it will occur. When your speed hits 20 and you are decelerating you will start to fly like a stone if you don't catch it. I sorta got to grips with it like this. Take the first instant action free flight mission. On the runway in the center there is a square piece of gravel there, use it as your target rather than landing in the fields. It gioves you a visual reference and will help you reference what it happening a bit easier. To practice, before attempting to actually land, approach that point and reduce speed and altitude and practice coming to a stop/hover over that point (or close to) but doing it at about 100 agl. It will give you more time. If you yank the collective back it makes matters worse. You need to gently increase the collective as you hit the 20 mark to catch it with some right rudder. lnd.trk
  12. Flew out of Nalchik heading for the hills. At several gazzilion meters found a peak and landed. Hooraayyy  Tried to take off but no, my limited skills eluded me completely, thought  i would turn right and maximize lift (that's the right way isn't it ) and then just slip to the side off the hill in a Chickenhawk 'esque' moment, it was not to be. Just flopped over, maybe to much collective in trying to lift off initially and never eased off fast enough. After the chaos my crew looked at me funny, no doubt thinking of the movie 'Alive' in 1993 and wondering whose fillet was going to be cooked first.
  13. I have landed in the road and actually had civvy traffic drive right through my airframe with no damage, hehe
  14. NUmba 1 :)
  15. Had a few goes at the trains, trying different carriages and stuff, some you just fall through and with others there seems to be solid points, so maybe. Haven't managed a successful one myself just yet.
  16. Dam wall fail. I saw some vid a while back here on Eagle so tried it myself. The bounce at the bottom, still can't believe, but I was pulling hard.
  17. :thumbup::megalol:
  18. Amen my brother. Never saw the first vid but if he was right, as he states, why did he pull it? Whoever paid him dollar moneys must ask for their money back, lol. Ego's lol.
  19. That bit intrigues me, must go looking for big smoking chimneys :pilotfly:
  20. I'm a regular tower whore
  21. Prefer to fly what I see in a sim, not ffb
  22. Its way better than it was prior to the patch a week or so ago. Latest patch to the beta flight model, its not easy but very doable with practice and patience.
  23. Quicksilver raises some valid points about the shortcomings of TiR. There seems to be little development on their side to improve the hardware and there have been numerous complaints about the clips poor construction. TiR responded to my complaints about it with a like, we know, and that was it. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=101605&highlight=tir
  24. Thx wolle The first 2 times I tried our intrepid pilot in the F-5 was too good :) and never got shot down. 3rd time lucky (or not so lucky) ;) He engaged and shot down one bogey, then got clipped by a missile which re-arranged his left elevator. He was on short finals when the other bogey came back and shot him down. I picked him up from the threshold of the airport. Cool mission, thanks.
  25. Hi Roger The quick an easy way to diagnose your problem is if you post a track on the forum. To do this fly the huey so that it causes the issue you have, crash and burn :) Then when you exit the game it will give you an option to save the track file. Save it to a directory on your pc where you can easily locate it (desktop) Then to post it on the forums, reply to this thread in advanced mode and you will have an option to upload a attachment, locate the track file you saved an upload it. Then we can run the track and see what is going on. Regards
