  1. Hi Folks In the GUI manual pg 208 yo have the options to select the network speed best for your connection which is straightforward enough. Our adsl connections here are not as fast (or wide) as in Europe/US. One player will hast and the rest join on his connection. The host has a adsl connection (4mb down / 50kb up) and we manage fine with 2 or 3 players. I am trying to understand the data transfer rates from the host machine to the connected clients. (considering that all clients join and are loaded up and in the pit beofre the host starts the mission) Is there any value in the clients reducing the connection speeds on their side as per pg 208 of the GUI manual to allow for maybe 6-8 players without issue. What I have noticed as well is sometimes when there are 4 players connected, the server disappears from the multiplayer server list.

  3. So lets pass the time while we wait shall we :) Morris and his wife Esther went to the state fair every year, and every year Morris would say, "Esther, I'd like to ride in that helicopter". Esther always replied, "I know Morris, but that helicopter ride is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars". One year Esther and Morris went to the fair, and Morris said, "Esther, I'm 85 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance." Esther replied, "Morris that helicopter is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars". The pilot overheard the couple and said, "Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say a word I won't charge you! But if you say one word, it's 50 dollars." Morris and Esther agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, but still not a word. When they landed, the pilot turned to Morris and said, "By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!" Morris replied, "Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Esther fell out, but you know -- 50 dollars is 50 dollars." --------------------- A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position and course to steer to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said 'WHERE AM I?' in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said 'YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER.' The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked the pilot how the 'YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER' sign helped determine their position. The pilot responded 'I knew that had to be the MICROSOFT building because they gave me a technically correct, but completely useless answer.'
  4. Thx Wags, we're going quite barmy here.
  5. Stealth ftw hahaha
  6. Ok, we have a 1.2.4 changelog, no 1.2.4 yet, and a statement from ED saying the Huey and 1.2.4 release will coincide. Calming down to a mild panic now, good night folks.
  7. I am a wee bit perturbed
  8. Heeeuuuuhhheeeee ????
  9. I'm on your side mate, but if 1.2.4 is the be all and end all of huey integration a line woulda been nice. Oh well, I'm going to go and kick the dog and cat for a bit. edit: just kidding ;)

  14. Cowboy, the easiest way is to download an app called teamviewer. http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx Instal it on your desktop and your other portable device or another pc you will be in front off. Take note of the codes it offers and you can then remotely connect where ever you are if you have internet connection on both naturally. Works really well. Best to also just in the settings increase the default password strentgh to max, you never know :smilewink:
  15. It's so close I can smell it :)
  16.
  17. I have set my pc at home up for remote access, so even if I am in Timbuktu when its released I will be able to download this baby and instal it, so when I do walk in the front door, everyone must just get the hell out of my way if they know whats good for them, bring me a beer and leave me alone at the pc for a few hours :smilewink:
  18. Yeah Dirk, upgrades are always welcome, paid or free. I think we need to all just get airborne first in what is being developed at present. Future upgrades I am sure will depend directly on how well the existing module sells/is supported by the community at large. If you look at almost all other sims that stood the test of time, upgrades do come through if there is solid customer support. With such a iconic airframe that the Huey is, I personally think (and sincerely hope) that the sales surpass Belsimteks expectations, cause then that gives them options for the future and a budget to do it. I have never ever been so excited about getting virtually airborne in a sim as I am with this Huey. I am about to explode hahaha. Can't wait, but will, and I know its going to be worth it.
  19. Heres a nice data base of Huey serial numbers with pics of some of them. http://www.helis.com/database/model/446/ http://www.airport-data.com/search/search2.html?field=model&search=Search&code=bell%20UH-1H JUst for reference this Turkish bird looks like its got the discoball fitted. From reading around seems they (ALQ-144) were supplied to the US in '81 and rushed into service for the gulf war in '91, according to the interwebs. http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/000179617L.html
