  1. Hi All I have a Warthog Hotas that I am using daily and a Cougar U2Nxt that is gathering dust. The Cougar has a microswitch problem (the one on the throttle that you use to slew radar) I the replacement part and want to test the repair on DCS A-10. Problem is I don't want to disconnect my Warthog and plug the Cougar if it will mess up my current control settings. I see there is a load/save profile option but call me dumb, I could not figure out how to save a profile. ANy help?
  2. Yeah, 2 little pieces of plastic in the form of clips that hold this together somehow doesn't add up to 35 euro. By the time I import another one its 55-60 euro.
  3. Jesus wept! Another TiR clip that breaks. My first one I ended up having wooden dowels plugged and stuck in it while getting a new one. Now the new one just disintegrated in mid flight. Anyone have any better ways to fix/support this flimsy thing?
  4. Not sure, but looking on google there appears to be a yellow type lever or paddle in that area on pics I just looked at, not sure what its for though.
  5. See attachment. On the joystick there is a pinky finger type switch and a paddle in front of that. Useful as a modifier as its easy to reach on the fly No I use the hat switch up and down on the joystick for aircraft nose up and down trim. I also use that hat up and down for zoom in and out. Just when using for zoom, I press the paddle switch with my pinky finger and then the hat switch. As the paddle switch is assigned as a modifier in the controls, when it is pressed with the hat up, it does not trim, but zooms in. On the controls to default _ Im not sure maybe you can get a default settings file from someone and overwrite the one you have, not sure though. Or else, just do a fresh instal that will sort it all out for you (just if you do, remember to deactivate all your installed paid modules first to avoid using up an activation when you re-instal)
  6. :lookaround: I think I just had a happy accident in my pants
  7. Thanks Kuky, that would be awesome!
  8. 1. Try in the options/controls, select the plane (ie A-10 sim) at the bottom there is a tab that says default, I suspect that may revert everything back? 2. Yup plug and play, however be aware of trim and if using TiR delete all the inputs that will be detected for your views for the hotas on the joystick hat switch. (they conflict with trim) Good option is to set the hat up and down for trim settings. 3. Zoom, I struggled with this for a while, was using zoom on the throttle slider( incr/decr slider) but that sucks and is shaky. Best way is to add an extra modifier in the control settings. I added the joystick paddle lever as modifier. Then I assigned zoom to that modifier+ joystick hat up and down for zoom. Works like a charm. 4. When you go through the startup procedure you set the throttle to the off position, thats all the way back, then a little lift and they slot in. Once APU is running and everything is ready you can simply slide each throttle off the lift area and that will initiate the engine start. There are also engine start switches on the throttle, I dont use them much unless trying to restart in flight. There is also an option in the settings somewhere to auto start the sim to detect all the hotas switch positions, not using that either. (unticked) 5. cant comment, had a Cougar U2nxt before. Congrats on your purchase, you will be suitably impressed I am sure  edit: I found it best to adjust your curves for x/y axis. I use curve of about 40 no deadzone. Makes it more manageable for fine flying (air refueling) YMMV Also for rudder, but test a bit and see what suits your flying style best. I use a little deadzone for rudder pedals as I tend to rest my feet on them now and again.
  9. Hmm, need a list of these 'older not so fps friendly' objects.
  10. Eldur, I think Tzeer is running 2 x 580's SLI'ed
  11. Another SSD inbound. No increase send address so I can pass on the invoice
  12. JUst looking right at my lighting panel, zoomed so that no part of the view is looking outside the cockpit, if I turn the flood light on I can drop as my as 25-30 fps, just by turning the flood light on.
  13. A consolidation of the last few days news and spam on the card with some 'apparently' legit benchmarks. http://videocardz.com/39436/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-real-performance-revealed
  14. Attached from my rig running the track you posted.
  15. Looking at your first cockpit screenshots you posted though, its maybe not as clear as that. Airspeed/FPS (4 cockpit screenies) 274/87 271/58 270/96 266/52 edit: actually 266 airspeed was the lowest fps, maybe!
  16. Where and how do I order one????? :worthy:
  17. When shopping for GPU to make my sim run better I was given this answer on PCI-e 2 vs 3 mobo's http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1632317&postcount=29 Will gladly help if you need a few more options.
  18. TZeer, thanks for your testing efforts. I note you say you turned textures up and down and vram is not maxed + no diff between the two. As for textures, would the resulting fps drop not be more a function of visibility range and scenes, as well as the clutter/bush preload range? (loading more while turning, compounded but tighter/faster turn) btw: my vram tends to load along at 1.3, occasionally going up to above 1.6 but not for long. Also cockpit res which controls mirrors/sensor maps/images? from manual. Note: If you wish to increase frame rates, the most import graphics settings to adjust lower are VISB RANGE, WATER, and SHADOWS. So does cranking these settings down stop the drop
  19. Similar discussion with some mod input. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1654466
  20. I agree with that!
  21. My CPU seems to idle or only run off one core, need to check more. i7 3770k Lange, I have a 4gb 680gtx, most it uses is like 1.3-1.5 on a quick short test. (edit: long night mission now for a few hours 1.8 ) GPU load though is the only parameter that pushes up towards 100%
  22. You succeeded admirably. :D
  23. Lol Any pilot in a modern fighter that gets shot down by an A-10 has really been sleeping on the job. As for that video, a simple throttle up would have left the A-10 way behind with no firing solution. No need to turn and burn, BVR all the way. Agree with 'NoCarrier'.
  24. Yeah using TiR and have been for years. I think I just need to fine tune the profile a bit so that its easier to look behind and past the headrest. No point in having an intact cranium, but hurtling to the ground at 400mph with no wings :megalol:
  25. Well, one of the reasons that Ai bastid gets behind me is the damn seat/headrest/bulletproof save my life thingy. I tell you what, I would take a chainsaw to that thing if I had half a chance. Its resulting in more deaths than saves at the moment :D
