  1. I took a LG IPS277L 27" home yesterday. My first IPS monitor. http://www.lg.com/za/monitors/lg-IPS277L-ips-monitor Only had a hour or 2 on it but I see noticeable ghosting when moving head left to right, visible on the cockpit frame. Maybe it just needs to be tweeked somehow, hope so. :( My old Samsung 2494 had none of this.
  2. Nice one dude, enjoyed the edit/film and the track.
  3. Milli, may your children be blessed with wealthy parents:thumbup: Learn something everyday.
  4. Ok found a solution in case anyone else is interested. Using small app, JoytoKey. You can map a hotas button press to a keyboard press. So using fraps, set to only record mike input when the designated keyboard button is pressed, and map that button to the mike switch on the throttle with JoytoKey. http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm
  5. Yeah I also center the view often, however with the vew on the slider it seemed to mess up the hud a bit, so i could not see all the indicators, or very difficult to see and had to constantly move around a bit. Having it mapped the way i have now is great though, just had a quick flight and its really user friendly, cant believe I had not done it sooner. Thx
  6. It messes with TIR and the hud gets messed up as well. No matter I just found a solution from this post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1080006&postcount=132 I don't use target, so assigned paddle on the stick to LShift with Joytokey, and now use LShift(Paddle)+Hat up/down to zoom. Works great
  7. True, but then I take my hand off the stick. Its not a train smash, just thought I could configure it slightly differently.
  8. Hi PeterP, thanks for taking the time, but maybe I understood the whole thing incorrectly from the beginning. What I am trying to achieve is to change the default magnification on startup (or zoom level) when I get into the cockpit. I find it is to zoomed in for my liking so I understood the quoted piece from the eagle wiki of FOV would do that. I thought that if I changed the default fov to what I want, that would be the center position of the slider, but it doesnt appear to be so. I dont use keypresses to zoom, I use the slider, but the center position of this is to magnified for my liking, I would like it to be wider (a bit zoomed out) ?
  9. I have the zoom function set on the slider of the a10 hotas next to the STFU button. If I set my zoom to what I want to fly at, and then touch the slider on the hotas (up or down) just slightly it defaults back to a higher magnification. Any ideas why? see images
  10. Thx Lange, will bare that in mind. Just got my card, installed the 310.70's way better than what I had on the 6990, so chuffed to bits. Haven't had time to fiddle with others yet or try and optimize.
  11. Been down that road for over a year SkateZilla, and actually in effect I am comparing 2 cards, be it 1 Gen older, that should work in tandem, but don't. I gave up trying to get it to work is the bottom line. Flogging a dead horse, made peace with it. Sunset Sierra track. ATI 6990 Frames 11316 Time (ms)512479, FPS Min - 7, Max - 48, Average - 22.081 GTX 680 FTW 4Gb Frames 21781 Time (ms)501325, FPS Min- 10, Max - 63, Average - 43.447
  12. Right on  First test is in using the FPS Bench track that was posted here (the one where you on the runway and the heli's fly over you) Had track Ir on and looked around a bit while on the runway and ran it for 3 minutes. ATI 6990 Frames 2105 Time (ms)176796, FPS Min - 7, Max - 28, Average - 11.906 GTX 680 FTW 4Gb Frames 5533 Time (ms)182334, FPS Min- 24, Max - 55, Average - 30.345 Admitably the 680 bench was slightly longer (6 seconds), so a few more frames, but the difference is plain to see. This is on full game graphics settings, everything on high, turned on, and 1024 cockpit res, 8x msaa Single monitor 1920x1080. Money well spent. I recorded another track of Sunset Sierra, a short take off and flight to waypoint 3. Have benched that on the 6990 as well, will run the same on the 480 and report back. :drunk::holiday::cheer3nc::clap:
  13. Yeah thats seems quite a bit older, have most people been running the previous set (310.70) with success?
  14. :shocking: :police: I cannot confirm or deny the above :music_whistling:
  15. Hi Lange, long time, Nero here ;) My card should arrive tomorrow. Looks like its just probs with SLI setups on the latest set from what I can see as well.
  16. If you don't mind my Nvidia ignorance, I just bought a GTX680, was on ATI6990, which Nvidia driver should I install?
  17. Freaks me out, so try my best to save the bird but, when I want out 'I WANT OUT'! Need to map it to my hotas, cause reaching for the keyboard and having to key this in a few times makes me dead :hehe:
  18. ot but your reference reminded me of an old favourite. http://www.f-16.net/aviation_jokes_article93.html
  19. Also getting my 680 next week, cant wait.
  20. Thx Joey, thought of that however the language from my end is gonna be mighty colorful :music_whistling:, not sure if there's a pg rating high enough for it. Enforce, will have a look as well thx.
  21. Hi I use fraps to record random clips of flights with my mates. All work perfectly well, the file records well and records all sounds and voice comms except my transmission over teamspeak. In fraps there is an option to record external input (ie my headset mike) but the challenge comes in to the key assignment for this. It will only allow a keyboard keypress to record my headset. I use the radio switch on my Warthog hotas throttle to transmit on TS and this is not recognized by fraps. Is there any way to work around this to get it recognized by fraps somehow?
  22. Thanks, but I get error when trying to open the file.
  23. Never park where the AI birds are going to spawn. Has happened to me as well, now I pretend I am parking my truck, never in a designated parking area :protest:
  24. Ditching my dual 6990 card for a single 680. Dual card (ati) performance is piss poor. Cant comment on Nvidia SLI other than to say that in my decision making process researching these forums the general consensus is that dual cards perform worse than single gpu units. But make your own mind up http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94594&highlight=gtx+690 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99281&highlight=gtx+690
  25. Living in the 3rd world high end flight sim kit is not that readily available. Have used these guys for years to import stuff, great shop and service. http://www.simw.com/
