  1. Could you post a link to the profile please? I am probably at the limit of my brain cell count to do this now:doh:
  2. I am almost finished installing the warning panel by Tyrix, only problem is , whats it called in the A10c/cockpit/indicators/? I can not find any indicator for the"warning panel"?
  3. I use an X52 Pro and Rudders. Agree whats been said re cost of TM Warthog and worry about the failures that have been reported. At 280 + British Pounds you want it to work spot on. X52 Pro is stable and has a great programming interface, that allows every Warthog function to be programmed. EtherealN, if you go into "Services" and scroll down to "Saitek Direct Output" and disable it, you wont have any more problems with the LCD on the throttle. Doesnt affect the operation at all and eliminates any quirky behaviour.
  4. I have tested my new GTX 580 3 Gb palit, with Nvidia Inspector. With one 24" Samsung at 1920 x 1200 and one 19" Acer at 1280 x 1024 running Hawg Touch, I see 2200Mb Vram used:shocking: I have all settings maxed out in game and AA set in Nv Inspector at 8s. Getting 60 fps ave, with a low of 40 over busy areas. I think A10c uses as much Vram as it can! Interesting though!:)
  5. Both simulations are excellent. From a going to war point of view, the Black Shark requires a different mindset to the A10c. The Marine Sniper;- "A Marine Corps Scout/Sniper is a Marine highly skilled in fieldcraft and marksmanship who delivers long range precision fire, on select targets, from concealed positions in support of combat operations." Note, the "concealed " term. Also, learning to fly the Black Shark is a challenge, but when mastered, is very rewarding. The automation built into the BS is impressive, given that its a single crew machine. It even has a full autopilot function which includes target tracking. Its a superb machine, expertly simulated. The evolution is plain to see in A10c. The mission planner has become even more advanced and is a wonder to both learn and use. Same for the A10c! Its a complete A10c simulation. It costs a million Dollars to train a pilot, now you can do it on your own, if you have lots of ability:thumbup: So buy and fly both! If you can keep "current" on both types, then you are truly a Master Aviator and deserve your wings. Enjoy:)
  6. Using the ACC.xml with the CDU, I have discovered an error. On the CDU when you are in the WP page osb L1 and osb R1 are reversed and osb L2 and osb R2 do not function. The osb's in the 3d cockpit work normally? I discovered this whilst assigning a new waypoint. The assignments are correct in the xml code and in other modes it appears to function correctly? Its as though the HT guage is not responding to the cockpit settings? A strange one this?
  7. ErichVon, I have replied to your post re the GPU in your other thread. The questions you pose are all answerable, however they are not fast answers. I will say from my experience;- Your i7 920 is good. Your MoBo is also good. your GPU...as I said in other thread, more Vram, more speed is good. Your HD, any decent HD is good, provided and its a big proviso, its properly defragged. If you go into the Bios ( just press Delete when its starting ) you can disable speed step and hyperthreading. Also a few other parameters if you are interested. As for GPU drivers, well again your Milage May Vary. I do suggest you use Nvinspector and here is a link to a post which may help;) http://www.simforums.com/forums/need-a-bit-of-help-with-new-nividia-inspector-195_topic38878.html If you want to overclock your i7 here is what I set on my i7;-However, make sure you have a good CPU cooler and a well cooled case...( see it gets more factors involved) i7 920 @ 3.80GHz DDR3 1600 7-8-7-24 JumperFree Configuration Settings AI Overclock tuner: MANUAL CPU Ratio Setting: 19 Intel ® SpeedStep Tech: DISABLED Intel ® Turbo Mode Tech: DISABLED BLCK Frequency: 200 PCIE Frequency: 100 DRAM Frequency:1600 UCLK Frequency:3200 QPI Link Data Rate: AUTO DRAM Timing Control: 1st Information : CAS# Latency: 7 DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 8 DRAM RAS# PRE Time: 7 DRAM RAS# ACT Time: 24 2nd Information : DRAM Timing Mode: 1N CPU Voltage: 1.32 QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.35 DRAM Bus Voltage: 1.65 Load Line Calibration: ENABLED CPU Spread Spectrum: DISABLED PCIE Spread Spectrum: DISABLED Advance CPU Settings CPU Ratio Setting: 20 C1E Suppport: DISABLED Hardware Prefetcher: ENABLED Adjacent Cache Line Prefetch: ENABLED Intel® Virtualization Tech: DISABLED CPU TM Function: DISABLED Execute Disable Bit: DISABLED Intel ® HT Techology: DISABLED Active Processor Cores: ALL A20M: DISABLE Intel ® SpeedStep Tech: DISABLED Intel ® Turbo Mode Tech: DISABLED Intel ® C-STATE Tech: DISABLED ADVANCED MENU PCI-PNP PLUG AND PLAY OS= YES POWER MENU- HARDWARE MONITOR CPU- ASUS QFAN= ENABLED TURBO MODE SYSTEM - ASUS QFAN= ENABLED TURBO MODE BOOT MENU- BOOT SETTINGS- FULL SCREEN LOGO= DISABLED TOOLS MENU- EXPRESS GATE= DISABLED F10-SAVE AND EXIT However before you do any overclocking, I would try to eliminate anything on your system which may be a rescource hog. AV programs can eat CPU cycles, any software you have that loads on boot etc. Hit RWin and R and type "msconfig" in the box then have a look at what boots at startup. I would get rid of everything you dont need. I only have 4 things at start up. These are only ideas. You have a good spec and should be able to have smooth flight. Trouble is there are lots of things goin on in our PC's that dont care about an A10c dropping bombs and dispensing CMS to deflect an incomming SAM, in other words the important stuff:thumbup: Hopt this helps.
  8. Depends how many monitor(s) you want to run, and what resolution. IMHO, GTX 580 has most stable drivers and support from Nvidia. ( Nvidia Inspector has ready made profiles for DCS! SLI as well!!) If you intend Multi Monitors, look for plenty of Vram. More than 2Gb for MM. Many run MM (x 3) on ATI with 2Gb RAM. I believe 3Gb to be optimum in MM. But then I would say that since mines a GTX 580 3Gb Palit:thumbup: A10c will use plenty of Vram as soon as you go MM. I run a 24" Samsung as main camera and have HawgTouch on a 19" Acer. I can see 2.2Gb Vram useage with all settings maxed. Also if you do go SLI or Eyefinity, remember the total amount of Vram is only equal to the Vram on one card. ( x2 GTX 580 @ 3 Gb = 3 Gb!) Hope this helps.
  9. Thanks ClearDark for the help and Tmahring for the CDU, which works spot on with his key assignments. If any one wants to use them, they were in the file ClearDark attached to my post, a few posts back. Here is my first attempt. Its a non touch screen so it was experimental. Now I should be able to build on that:thumbup: Cheers. BTW This IS the ACC file ClearDark corrected for me! ( He renamed it ACC..Accipiter;) )
  10. You Sir are are steely eyed missile man:thumbup::D:D:D AWESOME! Thank you! Ya just cost me a couple of Touch screens...:D ( Now I can justify gettin them!!!)
  11. Nope still get the same error:cry:
  12. :helpsmilie:Since downloading the latest 1.5 HT i get the following error on all my xml's and the originals:- "Only one useage of each socket address (protocol/network/address/port) is normally permitted"
  13. Thank you, thats awesom. How do I get all the panels to display at once? I dont need the CDU to be in the "on" selection switch, Do I just delete the one line with "one"? Sorry for being stupid. This is new ground for me? :)
  14. I am using notepad++. Its my brain thats not ++:music_whistling: I am trying to merge "CDU.xml" into "mytest.xml". The merged file is Myfile.xml Sorry, I had to change to txt, the uploader will not support xml. Cheers:)
  15. Has anyone any ideas how I can merge the xml files without getting parser errors!:helpsmilie: I have the two mfcd's and the ufc on my side monitor. Have just enough room for the CDU, which works, however when I try to add the xml of the CDU in to my mfcd/ufc file, I keep getting error messages! Cause I'm a thicko at xml, I cant seem to merge this file? Everything else works just great:thumbup: Is there an editor which I can use which corrects for idiots like me not knowing what to look for? Cheers.
  16. Thanks, thats ok now. I will wait before tinkering with the CDU, if all the keypresses are not being used by A10c. Regards
  17. All of them. My original showcase file I have, with my assignments are ok.
  18. I have just downloaded v1.5 HT and when opening THMARING's profiles get the " error parsing profile..."? Is this not fixed?
  19. The UFC tab ( the last one after the MFCD's) in the Showcase file, has duplicated functions two "Mk" and the rocker switches do not display accurately. I deleted the last UFC tab entry and cut and pasted the first UFC, from the "test" section. Resized it to 100% and it works perfectly:thumbup: Just be mindful of the XML syntax;) Regards. Superb software...now to purchase a couple of Touch screens:D
  20. There is a key combination which will give on screen data re your simulation. If you hit LCtrl and Pause the standard frame rate counter will show. If you then hit LShift and Pause then LWin and Pause and LAlt and pause, top left you will see some amazing information. With a 24" Samsung as main camera and a 19" for the Hawgtouch MFD's, I use 2200 Mb! (3200x1200) Of course thats with settings on max! If your Vram use exceeds your GPU cards memory, the system will use RAM, which may result in some slow downs and graphics anomalies. Just a thought!:) Regards.
  21. The i7-920 could be o/c to a 3.8Ghz, which is what I had my other PC set at. provided you have a good cooler. I use a Thermaltake Ultra and a couple of fans, push - pull. To ensure your GPU is tuned up, I will recommend the Nvidia Inspector. Its superior to the NV control panel and easy to set up. It will provide all the optimisation you require for your GPU. here;- http://downloads.guru3d.com/NVIDIA-Inspector-1.92-download-2612.html Regards.
  22. Great work! I have read the whole set of posts. I would like to add the MFCD's and CDU on to a 22" touchscreen. ( For a start!) Will there be an instruction manual how to do this? Or in my case a manual for Dummies! :helpsmilie: I can fly a sim, but I am not very good at this sort of thing:cry: If you could add a GUI, I would gladly pay for such a superb enhancement. Thanks for your dedication to enhancing this wonderful sim!
  23. Agree. I am about to join you in the GPU class of 580:thumbup: I have ordered a Palit 3 GB GTX 580. Will add a second when I have sorted out the cash! I think Vram and having sufficient to prevent the system from utilising system RAM, is important to eliminate graphics glitches, stutters etc. Like your figures demonstrate, A10 requires video memory if it is to run at high resolution. Regards.
  24. You are brave flying at night without NVG! Without the flare/bombs for illumination you only have the stars;)! Have you set the Night Vision Cockpit Lighting ( RSHIFT + K) on the right lighting panel? "When using night vision goggles (NVG), it is best to use this setting to provide reduced illumination compared to the general cockpit lighting panel. You may further wish to adjust the brightness of the NVGs to maximize cockpit clarity. Night vision brightness adjustment is done with the "ЯРКОСТЬ ПОДСВЕТА ПРИБОРЫ" (Brightness instruments) knob on the lower part of the control panel. " With no other "air package" available, I would just carry the S80's and the Vikhr, your gun is very good at night also!! "The S-8O and S-8OM are used for illumination of the target area. On impact they emit 2 million candles of visible light for 35 seconds." Ingress target area slowly, acquire all targets with the Shkval and NVG, put them into your ABRIS, then designate your wingman to attack them as groups. Finally, launch your S80's and deliver your attack. When you have taken out the AA threats, clear out the area with guns and your wingman!:D:thumbup:
